Opening date for Ratatouille

Yes b
Sure they did. At least for AP holders. Granted, they had it more restricted but for those that did get in, it was like the Pandora preview.

That said, they haven't done any extensive previews for rides opening, like Ratatouille or even Mickey's Railroad. They tend to just open rides with less fanfare. I don't expect anything for either ride
FWIW the SWGE were limited to a lottery for platinum, platinum + or premier tier AP holders and their +1 also had to be an AP in those tiers

I know - darn you Disney!! That’s why I’m hoping and hoping and hoping! Honestly - I’m looking forward to Ratatouille MORE than I was for SW Land!

This is us! I am surprising my DD with a trip this summer. Ratatouille is her all time favorite Disney movie, so am super excited. I first scheduled or trip for the first full week of June but then decided to move it back to make sure that the ride is open before we go. I ended up getting the free dining discount for the week leading into July 4th. Bigger crowds for sure but I am hoping that the ride is fully operational at that point. I am also hoping that they use Fastpasses too and I can snag it. We were last at WDW in 2014, so we have not seen Seven Dwarfs mine train, SW, ToyStory Land, Pandora and this Ratatouillle ride is my number one to make sure we see and do above all the others!

Anyone have an actual insight as to when we might actually know the opening date? I will be there in late June, so hoping its open!

Does anyone know how they work in advance FastPasses for new attractions? We'll be past our 60 day window when this opens (assuming it's late may / early June) - so we won't be able to snag one that early I assume. But we'd probably plan to drop one and try to add it whenever we're able (our trip is mid-July. Hoping / assuming it's open by then)

Can't say for sure -- But they opened Runaway Train for fastpasses 30 days before the opening date. Makes sense if they wanted to give onsite and offsite guests equal chance to start.

It has been anticipated they might not start with FPs at all.... start Standby only, to make sure the ride is reliable enough before locking down fastpasses.

Since Ratatouille is a copy of an existing ride, the technology should be pretty reliable already.

So my expectation:
Early March (after runaway train opens), they will announce an opening date for Ratatouille...
They will then open fastpasses 30 days before that date.

So if they announce a Memorial day opening, look for FPs to open in late April.

BUT..... The fact they call it a "summer" opening, not a spring opening, suggests it may not open at all till sometime over the summer. All depends on the pace of construction, which does seem to be moving along rapidly.

This is my fear as well. There has to be some reason they said "Summer" as the opening time. Summer is not technically until mid-late June. Should be interesting to hear for sure...

Disney kind of does what they want with things like this. Just keep an eye out on the boards. This will let you know when they are first available.

My daughter love RAT so much. It's her dream to ride ROTR and RAT . So we know how to get on ROTR and now we're hopeful that RAT will open Memorial Day. Just before our trip!

We are there May 6-14th. Here’s hoping!!! We are doing so much new this trip!!! TSL and RoTR ( did smugglers run at DL this past summer) would love to add Ratatouille and space 220 to the mix!!

I really feel like this is going to open the second week in July. On certain travel websites I've noticed offers skip this date. I really hope I'm wrong though...I'd like it to have been open a few months before we start our trip =)
The current discount recently offered ends for stays after July 9th. I wonder if this supports my theory at all? :)

I am way more excited for this ride than for anything else they've opened up recently. I've got a trip set for mid-June (which I originally thought would be more than enough time to ensure it as completed). Crossing my fingers, but not too expectant at this point. May be going back to the World in October, though, so I might get a second chance!

Memorial Day is my predictions-but my track record is terrible! I just knew MMRR would be opening before GE, and Space 220 open in February!

Well, they were going for a "late fall" opening of GE, and then opened it around Labor Day, so who knows?

I agree Rat will probably be more like July, but I'd love to see it open earlier, if only to draw some crowds away from the ridiculous sea of humanity over at DHS. However, with the current state of Epcot, who knows if the park could handle the additional influx of visitors it would bring - goodness knows DHS isn't dealing with the crowds very well.

Ratatouille opening by July might be the thing to convince my DH to take FD trip I impulsively booked without his input. I hope we have an opening date by May 22.
Lol...sound like me....just waiting for the right moment... you know if it'll all work out and amazingly it'll definitely all work out because you booked far enough ahead to make sure you got what you wanted and there was availability etc.

I’m actually thinking Memorial Day. Construction is moving along rapidly AND they are closing Spaceship Earth end of May. I would think they would keep it open until Ratatouille is ready. Down a major ride, the crowds would be a nightmare.

Add on to that. The last festival ends June 1st. Without festival stuff to keep people busy, EPCOT would be dead with no SE, all the construction already taking place, and the fact that historically summer is Epcot's lowest season crowd wise because of the lack of festivals.

Crowds would congregate in small pockets of the park driving up lines and creating bottle necks and leaving food lines miles long OR it would be an utter ghost town. We've already seen a dip in EPCOT crowds these last few weeks with the current level of construction plus having had Test Track down (yes its now reopened but) and that was even DURING a festival.
I'm just saying. Disney would run into big problems on one end of the spectrum or the other.
