Sounds wonderful! DDP can be fun but yikes, there's alot of planning to make it worthwhile.

We're doing a split stay starting just a couple nites with heavy planning for DxDDP ADRs, then we move on to 6 nites of Food Freedom to do exactly as you've described. FoLK package at Tiffins and lounges are musts on our list too.
The funny thing is, we have never used the DDP. But my family likes TS meals, and as we usually travel with a larger group of people, getting ADRs well ahead of time was necessary. This time our party, even with family, is much smaller, so we'll have more options for making last minute meal choices :)

My wife and i are staying at our first deluxe resort in Oct, we were able to grab at value studio at AKL which i'm also told is not an easy get if your non DVC. Also as a Star Wars fan really looking forward to GE and to build a lightsaber!

I am excited because we will be in the World on Christmas Day! We've been to WDW many times and even a few days before Christmas & a few days after but never on 12/25.
I know it will be super crowded but we've been enough to know to plan accordingly
That's on our bucket list and hope to cross it off in a few years, either Christmas or New Years. Even with the super crowds :)

Last year the crowds didn't look that bad for rope drop and the first few hours on Christmas Day and New Years Day & Eve.

Enjoy your trip!

This is a birthday trip for 2. The youngest girl turns 12 and the grandson turns 4. And the 1st time we stay at the Poly. I try not to think about the cost of 2 rooms for 10 days at the Poly and the deluxe meal plan. Sigh children run my world.

My next trip is the summer for our 15th wedding anniversary. We will actually be there on our anniversary so have splurged for V&A, it's also DH first kids free trip, and first trip since December 2017. I go a lot either with the kids, other family members, or solo, but I'm super excited to take him back (not like I haven't tried).

May is our first trip back in 20 years (during the 80s and 90's I went every other year). It's our 30th wedding anniversary (we honeymooned at WDW). I am excited about everything (except the stress of getting a BG for ROTR). We are staying at POFQ, doing a dessert party, Flower and Garden and AH at the Magic Kingdom which are all firsts for us. Then there are all the changes to Fantasyland and ToyStory Land, StarWars land ...:Pinkbounc:Pinkbounc:Pinkbounc

Wow so many new attractions will be waiting for you :) And some classic ones are still there. I think the Beauty and the Beast live show at HS has been running over 25 years straight. Happy 30th Anniversary!

We leave in 22 days. Haven't done a big park trip in over 2 years.

We are so excited to see SWGE. We are huge fans. All 3 of us are doing Savi's, and we are building 2 droids. It's a dream come true for DH.

We are excited to do VAH. Also big villain fans. We did Club Villain back in the day, and cannot wait to see this event. We are also doing a regular DAH and the Star Wars dessert party, but have done those before so not something new.

Just overall excited to be back at Disney. We have been in for a day or 2 but not a big trip in a long time. I have been fighting some health issues, but am doing much better. I will be able to do so much more than I could on the last 2 quick trips we took.

Thank you for the positive thread. All the talk really has my anxiety kicked up so I needed this!

I’m excited for our (hopefully) first stay at WL! We’re DVC and have stayed at most of the DVC resorts but somehow never stayed here. So we’re gonna try for CCV or BR if we can’t get CC. This isn’t one of our home resorts so I can’t book yet but I’m hopeful! Also excited for the new Mickey ride but also still bitter about the GMR! Just being there in general is exciting to me!

So many things!

Booked a studio at Poly through a DVC member for six nights in August. The kids (both teens) wanted to stay there, and DVC made it happen without breaking the bank. We're also doing a split stay...staying at another resort for 2-3 nights before Poly, and I'm legit torn between CBR (for the skyliner) and AKL for the wildlife. Wherever we stay at the beginning will be a surprise for the kids.

I've stayed at BC twice (and I love it there) but I stayed at AKL with my friend in February and it is my new favorite resort. OMG I LOVE the music. We went down to the pool 20 minutes before it opened and just sat in the sun and listened to the music and it was heaven. AND THE ANIMALS! So very cool to have a giraffe eating outside my window.

I'm excited to stay on the monorail loop. I never considered staying on the loop before, but we rented points for DVC at BLT (ha!) which was the only DVC that still had availability when I booked. I'm making it a monorail trip (eating at the restaurants on the loop, walking to MK, swimming) and I am hoping Celery (my almost 5-yr-old) and I have a great time.

If you've got kiddos, what is your favorite restaurant for the kids on the loop? I think I want to try Ohana for dinner our first night. It seems like that would make us really 'feel' like we were at Disney. I'm thinking of getting a sitter and eating at Grand Floridian Cafe without her. Or should I do California Grill?

We are excited to be staying at the Beach Club again. We have been since our first trip in 2012. We are also excited for being able to do a 10 day trip this time. We haven't been to Disney as a whole family in 3 years so my kids are really excited to all be going again.
