Priceline Express Deals

Any ideas about this? Guessing its not a Disney resort because it does not include a shuttle. Could be Swan/Dolphin?

I am staying at the Dolphin (Marriott) next month. I called to add my 14 year old twins to our reservations and they did it for free. I told them my wife made a mistake when booking (she actually only booked the room for one person). I called a few months prior, though, and said I needed to add my kids--that's when they wanted to charge us a different rate. Strange, but we are linked on MDX so it's all good!

When I search on HW I just put down 4 adults (My wife, myself, and the 14 yo twins) and I get the exact same results as when I search 2 adults and 2 children.

Glad you got it worked out. On your other thread about that so many people were acting like you were breaking the rules, and I was like, it’s within the free occupancy limits, talk to the hotel.

So many people get caught up in a technical glitch or what one employee tells them, and extrapolate it to some big overall rule. Naw, man, just call and talk to a human.

After the thread got locked, I was wondering what happened. Good to hear it was an easy fix.

Thank you! Super easy fix. I don't know why so many people couldn't understand that it was a simple mistake and I wasn't trying to game the system. That thread totally took off and then was shut down before before I could explain what happened. I get overwhelmed with anxiety just thinking about "sneaking" my kids into a hotel--that would absolutely kill the fun for me. Some people can break rules and feel OK about it--NOT ME!! I'm a teacher, my whole life is rules!!!! I think that might be one reason I was so surprised at the thread. And if you follow this Hotwire/Priceline thread there are tons of people trying to add guests to a reservation. Not one of them is trying to break to the rules.

When is the best time to start looking for a room on Disney property? I have a room booked for early June at the Swan, but I would love to try for a deluxe or moderate Disney hotel. We just booked a last minute weekend and paid $90 for All Star Sports, and I am hooked! We'll be down longer in June and I wanted to stay in a Moderate or Deluxe hotel.

I made the same but opposite mistake. I'm taking a solo trip and was just checking rates. I found POFQ for $110/night on hotwire and there was a $30 coupon. I jumped on the deal so fast I didn't realize I searched for two adults instead of one.

I was going to call and have the second person taken off. But turns out my brother and SIL who live in Clearwater might join me for a couple days. Now I'll just need to add one person to the res when they arrive.

Just wanted to share this- got my hopes up that I’d found a Disney hotel deal on PLE since when I clicked on the “hotel chooses bed” option no resort fees were listed. However, when I clicked on the “2 queen bed” option it showed a $45 a night hotel fee. Just an FYI to double check I guess...

Yes - Priceline DOES leave resort fees off of some deals randomly. I think it is part of their methods of confusing people - BUT, IMHO is a very shady tactic since the PL Terms of Service explicitly state that you will be liable for any resort fees on site whether the deal shows them or not. They were leaving resort fees off a lot of deals last year, but much less lately.

So, takeaway: Helpful to use fees that appear as another factor to help fingerprint the resort, but DON'T take the lack of fees as an indicator a resort IS Disney.

Howdy, That was from the mobile version of my resort matcher spreadsheet.

You can also try the regular version, which in addition to the easier simple matcher version that compares amenities. (But, I'll probably be retiring the full amenity matcher soon as the simple works more better, plus keeping the amenities up to date is a never ending job.)

This is really good advice. If there IS A RESORT FEE then it is NOT Disney. However, a LACK OF RESORT FEE does not mean it IS Disney.

Unfortunately it's not. It was a coupon from betterbidding.com - they have different coupons at different times, so keep checking. They have two Priceline coupons now - 5% off 3* and above for 2 nights or more or $20 off $100 - 2 nights or more.

I ended up with two concurrent reservations for POFQ purchased at two different times - one with a coupon and one without. Now I'll be there 03/27 - 04/02.

I just need to figure out if there's a way to combine the reservations, or if I can just ask them if I can stay in the same room...

Yep, Hotwire should still work right. It's specifically a direct Marriott issue, related to hotels under the old SPG umbrella. I ran into it when I booked a Sheraton near Disneyland, and I just saw it again when I did a fake booking today for the Dolphin on the Marriott site. Neither hotel (nor most others, especially in tourist areas) actually charge for kids under 18, but the site forces it. They don't actually charge you when you get to the hotel, but their call centers don't know that because they're working off the same site we are and that site tacks on the charge (which is probably why they tried to charge you extra when you called...the person wasn't experienced with the issue)

Hotwire hotrate deal. 3*, 4.3 rating. For a fam of 4 I would stray from AoA though....only double beds in the Little Mermaid Rooms (which is what the room type I received is). The values that have refurbished rooms have queen beds now so you might have more room. Some of the values were just as low and some for the 1-4 were as low as $69/night when I was looking.
