Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Page 1619-1620

Dee, when you get a chance, no rush since who knows if/when trips will be a possibility again, our dates for September have changed.

It was: bookbabe626 Sept 9-13 BC SV

Now it’s: bookbabe626 Sept 18-22 YC GV

We’ve still got our FD recovery deal trip in July (July 9-12, YC GV) to make up for the cancelled April and May trips, and we’ve booked a Dec 11-15 trip, currently at WL. The WL one has me puzzled, since that part of December shows absolutely no availability at WL, even though every other resort has almost every room type open. And there were lots of choices available when I booked it a few weeks ago. Wondering if they pulled inventory related to the room renovations there, and if I’ll get a call asking me to move. If I do, YC will be my first choice, of course. ;-)

Got it!

Yacht Club-standard view v. Garden view rooms? Any advice would be appreciated!!!

:welcome: to the thread!

You have received some excellent information about the differences in the view types at the YC.

Technically, Standard view looks out on a parking lot or rooftop, Garden Views look out on something green (a courtyard, or even woods or a tree. I believe rooms overlooking the YC quiet pool are also considered GV) and water view rooms face Crescent Lake and/or Stormalong Bay.

If you want to see some samples of the views by category, check out the Standard View Rooms and the Garden View Rooms in the Yacht Club Room View thread:

Let us know if you book a trip to the resort and if you have any additional questions.

:cool1:

We typically request garden view rooms, requesting the gazebo. That is my favorite view. We've stayed that way 2-3 times and each time was fabulous.
Last year we had a 1 night stay before a move to another resort - it was standard. Super disappointing when we entered the room and had a view of the front loop. The standard rooms tend to be closer to the main elevators. the ice machine was across the hall from us. surprisingly, it wasn't as loud as I though it would be.
Keep in mind that garden view can be just a big tree outside your balcony, or facing the tennis courts.

:welcome: back to posting on the thread.

Thank you so much for the very helpful information.

:thumbsup2

Decided to put CL on hold this trip . With the uncertainty of CL. Booked 8 nights water view now switched to garden view lol. This trip keeps getting a little cheaper. Surprised at availability, almost all categories at BC and YC for 7/31-8/8 . 🤞🏻🤞🏻

So since we canceled CL , I was thinking of renting a cabana one day for our trip. But the new released suggestion of guidelines says no stocked minibar. ( the water and pop was awesome last time) So that would be removed from the cabana? Or am I reading too far into this?

Lucky you! We have YC CL booked with 2 rooms I garden view and 1 standard. With all the possible changes to CL I was trying to rebook a regular room but both BC and YC under Sun and Fun are completely sold out for the last week in August. I love and miss Disney but no way am I booking without a discount! Bad enough if I change resorts I have to pay the new tickets prices. For two rooms and 7 people we are talking an additional $500 Plus to make the change. 😡

I am so sorry. Perhaps the CL won’t be changed too much.
Keep checking your dates ! The room choices were changing daily when I was switching mine.

I agree that minibar was great, We have a ful day cabana booked also and I will definitely cancel if they remove it! (Well unless of course they significantly lower the price)

Also I just usually book when I see the room I want. Then I go back and cancel my original booking. Never paid a change fee. I have had two bookings at once for a few days before.

I think he/she is referring to the change in price if moving to different dates/room views. i.e. - the room price may be different for the different selection. Not necessarily a "change fee".

So my daughter and I were discussing the refillable mugs. She remembers getting cold brew coffee by the ice tea machines. I told her she is confused because I only remember hot coffee and ice tea machines and the freestyle Coke machine. Is there cold brew at BC marketplace?
There is! It's my favorite coffee on property!

So last June we rented a full day cabana at Yacht Club. It was a beautifully sunny day and was fantastic. I am thinking of renting a half day in August. Has anyone rented and had a storm come through half way through your rented time? Half day rental is only 4 hours. If I lose half to a storm and I just out of luck or do they refund half ? Curious of the process.

We rented a half day cabana in July. A storm came through before our rental time and set us back 30-45 minutes. We had the option of cancelling for a full refund, or just using the time we had left.

I'm not sure what would happen if you had already started to use the Cabana and a storm came through, but I suspect that it would be something similar.

Does anyone know the service fee for in room dining at YC? Room service generally has a % add on to purchase for a fee.

5 dollar delivery fee , 18% gratitude , plus tax

We'll be at BCV in October those dates as well!
So will we (I hope)...although we will be checking in on 17th and at this point staying until Nov1 (30 yr anniversary). We were hoping to go abroad but with the current state of affairs we will be staying in the US. I had originally booked two weeks thinking we would wait to see when the Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Event was...we love it. We were going to cancel the second week. Unfortunately...it is the weekend after we come home and by the time we found out the date the weekend was booked, so now I think we are just going to stay for the whole two weeks and do some extra special things while we are there.

I'm headed for my first stay at YC in a garden view room in Sept 2020. We got some killer room rates as a group deal ($219/night). We are super excited as we usually stay value or mod and have only had one deluxe stay in Saratoga Springs. If we want to be close to everything, but still quiet, what would be a good room request? I hate walking long distances at the end of the day back to my room (we were at the far back side of ASMU last time and it about killed me). Suggestions?

Overlooking the gazebo is a great spot to be if you want to be close to the lobby. There is also an exit at the end of the building near the boardwalk itself, so there aren't any walks that are too crazy far. This hotel is much more compact than ASMU. Enjoy the trip. That is a great rate for an awesome resort!

I'm curious to see if that's reduced temporarily, maybe suspending the $5 delivery fee or something like that. It seems like they'd want to ramp up and encourage room service in the near term!

I've never used in-room dining at Disney before, but maybe that will change next time.
