News Round Up 2020

I haven't seen one. It wasn't behind a paywall for me though. Basically the gist is Universal won't restart Epic Universe construction until the economy bounces back.
Gotcha, thanks. The headline grabbed my attention but guess the headline tells all in this case lol.

Orlando Sentinel says I've readed my limit of free articles. Can't go into incognito mode either. So for me it's behind a paywall at the moment but it's fine for now on this topic with your explanation :)

Is there an article available that isn't behind a paywall by any chance? Can't read it :(
If you clear cookies in your browser, you should be able to see it.

"Construction of the new Epic Universe theme park in Orlando won’t resume until the nation’s economy begins to revive, a key leader of Universal Orlando’s parent company said Wednesday. "

Aannddd normally I would have thought to do that but alas not today lol. Thanks that worked!

seeing people reporting thei trips booked at WDW for early June are getting cancellation notices via e-mailt his morning (saw one that was booked for June 1-12, another for June 2-6 ... might be seeing some more developments today

Yeah seems to be the first week of June getting cancelled. As expected. Week by week cancellations. The dates can seem further out because it goes by check in date. So if people are staying for 2-3 weeks, they’ll have their entire trip cancelled.

saw someone else post June 8- 13 so might be more than just the first week, guess we shall see. Hopefully they provide info out to people clarifying things - gotta be stressful to see things come through in drips and drabs like this

You have no clue. I am actually sick with stress over it. Have a reservation for June 13 with David’s and I can’t do anything with it until Disney starts cancelling. I’ve got this $2k hanging over my head and it’s killing me. We don’t even want to take it because my dad’s got so many medical conditions like diabetes and mesothelioma.

I would guess they'd also be staying on property if this comes to fruition.

Presumably they'd block out a single resort for the MLS players (and probably a second for the NBA players, if that comes to pass). Presumably a Non-DVC, Non-Value resort close to WWoS.

Honestly with the size of Saratoga Springs they could just use half that resort and book them out. Or more than likely work some deal with another resort not owned by Disney on property like the 4 seasons

I can't imagine them kicking out DVC Members. If I lost a second DVC stay due to basketball and soccer, I'd be more than a little upset. Especially if I ended up losing points because of it.

They got the All-Stars and Coronado Springs. They regularly use them for sports ball groups.
