Sounds good until that “upgrade” moves you from a bed to a sleeper sofa pull out in a studio. Not all upgrades are really upgrades.

This!! We're booked in a CL tower suite at Gran Destino. It's technically a moderate resort, but it's definitely not a moderate room. If they move us to a studio somewhere I consider that a big downgrade. I'm nervous. I'm not sure if we will have any say in where we get moved to
I've never stayed in a DVC and it's been years since I've been in a deluxe. What makes a studio a downgrade? DVC studios and standard hotel rooms look about the same to me?
Quite a few of the DVC studios only have 1 queen and a sleeper sofa instead of a second bed. There are studios that sleep 5, but I believe all of those are a single bed drop down. It’s not a downgrade, but it’s sure not an upgrade to me. If I was at a deluxe, or even some moderates, I’d definitely consider it a downgrade. The fact that they have wonderful villas doesn’t help if you aren’t in one of them.I've never stayed in a DVC and it's been years since I've been in a deluxe. What makes a studio a downgrade? The CL tower suite at Gran Destino is actually much nicer imho than any DVC 1 bedroom, unless you really really really want to cook during your vacation. I have stayed twice in that CL suite and in 1 and2 bedrooms at BWV, OKW, and AKV Kidani. No comparison.
What are the odds (in your opinion) that Disney will cancel a guest at art of animation vs moving them to a DVC resort? I have a trip for the end of August and want to tell my kids, but I’m hesitant because I’m afraid Disney will cancel us if that resort doesn’t open.
I'd definitely keep it a secret for now. We've had to cancel 3 trips so far (dd20 was in the DCP so we bought AP's to go down and see her a lot - of course, she was sent home rather quickly and we never got to go see her) and my other kids were really bummed. So, we rescheduled everything for July and told them all thinking it would be fine and now going back to Disney is all my 9yo will talk about. I don't have the heart to cancel the trip on him or the others but had we kept it quiet, I might be canceling. We are booked at ASMo so if Disney cancels us, I'll have to do some heartbreakingWhat are the odds (in your opinion) that Disney will cancel a guest at art of animation vs moving them to a DVC resort? I just checked the desktop and the App. My July 1-5 Movies reservation is still showing as of one minute ago. I would have reserved July 15-19 but I reserved when I heard Universal was opening to the public June 5 because my daughter's AP had one month left on it when Disney closed so if Disney had jumped on and opened in early/mid July I had to have a reservation that would accommodate my daughter's AP. Once I found out they were doing the July 11 thing I couldn't get on the reservation system anymore and the phone CM said I couldn't adjust the July 1st date.Uh oh... my 1 July YC room only reservation has disappeared from MDE! Split stay 12 July reservation is still there. Anyone else?
The pull out beds are not as comfy as a queen bed.I've never stayed in a DVC and it's been years since I've been in a deluxe. What makes a studio a downgrade? DVC studios and standard hotel rooms look about the same to me?

I haven’t received any correspondence from WDW but my US TA has reconfirmed that the YC reservation from 1 to 11 July has been cancelled by WDW. YC CL reservation from 12 to 19 July is still active. I hope that you have better luck.I just checked the desktop and the App. My July 1-5 Movies reservation is still showing as of one minute ago. I'm holding on to a little hope that once Disney gets the numbers worked out they will let us move our dates if there is availability before new bookings are allowed since we did have a reservation and tickets already.
Our March trip got cut short by the sudden closure. We only had one day in the parks (PH).
DVC members are currently still able to reserve. As long as you're working with a reputable source, you shouldn't have a problem.Have a chance to rent dvc for July 14-17. We both already have paid tickets. If we did this do you think we would be considered on site guests for the reservation system.
I often look for 2 rooms that are connected for space. We often do 1 or 2 bedroom villas. However I have also done the hospitality suite at Cr, deluxe suite at WL,This!!
