Completely agree! We stayed there 2 years ago as a celebration splurge and honestly had the worst resort experience we have ever had. I am hopeful that this stay will be a completely different experience and that we will grow to love Poly like so many others do.

I hope that for you too! Alternatively you could always call and be like what the heck, Disney?? Put us someplace else! It's not like you're on-property and they walked you. Strange circumstances indeed.

For those who’ve been moved to the Poly, have you reached out to Disney to find out why? I’m wondering if they overbooked the B.C. that week before the reduced capacity regs were put in place as it seems to affect the week of August 26th so far.

fairly certain NBA. but i will call and will let you know what they say on this thread. I HATE calling. it's always a minimum of 45 min on the phone. plus, since TA booked not sure they'll share much info. Going to write GS as well. I want a massive food credit and guaranteed food reservations now (especially since they canceled our prior ones). Plus, I don't even know if the monorail will be running yet.....

Our Gran Destino stay that follows our Beach Club (now Poly) stay is still intact, of course we know it will be changing. Just didn’t expect our Beach Club reservation to be changed.

If SAB is still closed, I can sort of deal with it. But seriously, the food......

At YC, we usually grab B and C a few times, Ale and Compass, Crew's Cup each once, the pool bar food a few times and remainder Epcot (which would have been only once twice this trip).

I just checked the number of NBA teams who will be at the YC ... 6 in total. That many teams with the number of personnel in those traveling party’s - they would need both resorts i’d guess..

But by late August — most of those teams will have been eliminated or moved to GDT.

I will definitely keep you all posted. I just have to mentally build myself up for a really long phone call and I'm also teleworking which actually makes it harder. DS is using my phone to Facetime friends all day and I'm one of those people who is actually working more from home than in the office.

I don't know. The teams can all book block of rooms after they are done playing. Even players and their families will not want to be switching resorts constantly. Plus I do think SAB will be a strong draw for the players and families. What kid wouldn't want that pool. Plus everything we love - the walk into Epcot and HS. And sounds like they will get after hours in the park (so much for Disney cutting back CM hours to save $$$ and extra hours to clean the parks)

There was a medical conference scheduled at YC/BC for August 2020. The onsite conference was cancelled, with plans to go virtual, instead. The attendees, however, have been advised that the conference room rate will still be honored at YC/BC from August into the first week of September, for those registered attendees still wishing to visit.

Nah. there's nothing around there. At BC you can walk to two parks, all around the lake. You have the Skyliner. You have a ton of great restaurants at Swan and Dolphin in walking distance. And now that Epcot is having F&W, it's an easy in to the World Showcase. I'm SUPER bummed about being moved. Man, the more I think about it, I don't know if I want to do this.

actually you are correct! Forgot the skyliner which DS loves and we ride numerous times a trip. Plus, F and W (although you need a park reservation so not like can just pop in like we normally would). BUT, not sure if monorail open, or the boats at Poly. AND I read somewhere - either a Disney post or a reliable gossip site- that resorts will be limited to guests and you will need to show proof of restaurant reservation to gain access to a hotel. So can't take a 2 hour trip to get a cupcake at the GF (I am being serious) or food from the CR.

This is getting worse by the second. Plus, the review I saw of Poly CL they did not have a warm food option like YC and BC other than oatmeal.

Sorry I am confused. I was booked there at that same time as the conference. Obviously they had the rooms and availability otherwise I would not have been able to book, in 2019.

It could be a combination of conference-booked guests, NBA-related guests, and reduced capacity. I think it is more than just one factor.

7/31-8/8 GV not paid in full yet.
Still awaiting any word fro Disney about where we will be moved to
Its a package with 9 day hoppers .
So I will book reservations Monday but sure would have preferred to know whether to book more EPCOT and HS vs MK due to location
