Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I was originally booked for Sun & Fun, she said that wasn't available for my dates so she gave me the "recovery" offer. It worked out to be almost exactly the same as what I was paying for YC GV. Was $3 more per night.
that means there is hope for us....think the AP and BB were around 25% for YC and likely both less for Poly. YC were CL stays so maybe it will even be less. Fingers crossed. Going wait and call this afternoon.

No word on SAB in August correct? Maybe would try for BCV.

Dis you get any other info on the “recovery offer”. I’m trying to decide if I should move our July trip to late November or February. Wondering the recovery offer would apply to February dates. Thanks!

She said SAB will be closed in August but both pools at the Poly will be open. And the monorail and boat will be running. That sealed the deal for me. I sure hope it’s true.

I asked about March 2021 and was told only 2020 can be booked today. I kept my same August dates. Now on MDE the discount code says “recovery 20” so I’m guessing it was 20% off.

Thanks! I’ll probably wait to call on the 24th or 25th to see if the discount would apply next year. My DH retires in early February. I think a trip would be the perfect way to start retirement. No reports or emails to deal with when he gets home!

I’m not too worried about March right now. I’ll try back on the 24th and see what happens. Next big headache facing me is August dining.

Waiting to see if any info comes out about SAB being open come September - it doesn't seem like we'll be getting moved from YC since it's supposed to be open come August 24th so very curious if that means the full property, or if not if we'll still have access to the BWI feature pool, or if we'll be stuck with just the quiet pools. This is the last detail to figure out now that dates have been confirmed and park reservations made!

Talk to me about the BC Deluxe Villas please. Never stayed in one before be we scored a stay for September instead of our stay at Grand Floridian.

I haven't staying in a villa at the BC so I can't give you any first-hand info.

Posts 10 and 11 on Page 1 of this thread have info about the villas and also links to other informative pages.

:thumbsup2

What type of room did you get? Studio, 1BR, or 2BR. BCV is a relatively small DVC . 5 floors with no real great views of anything. There are poolside rooms and what I will simply say "non poolside rooms" which can range from a view of the road, woods, or BC resort. Some higher rooms [ 4th and 5th floor] have limited views of Epcot and fireworks, but the fireworks will not be in play for a while.
All rooms have a balcony or patio. It's a quick walk to the main BC resort and the Marketplace.
About an 8 minute walk to IG from the BCV lobby and a 20 - 25 minute walk to HS. BC and BCV share busses with YC to MK and AK.

As BCV owners we love the general decor and atmosphere of the entire Epcot resorts area and find it very relaxing to be able to walk to IG/Epcot and walk, boat, or skyline it to HS. If you have any specific questions fire away!

We have a 1 bedroom. Not too concerned with the view since, like you said< no fireworks anyway. We have stayed at both YC and BC a few times before and LOVE the area (BC is our favorite though). Never stayed DVC before so this will be a whole new ballgame for us.

Not BC related, but last fall, my hubby and I stayed in AKL-Kadani - dlx studio. It was a pain folding up the sofa bed everyone morning and hauling it out every night, but apparently it was comfy enough. It was nice having a microwave and sink with dishes, etc. Not sure the layout is the same, but the bathroom there was one large room, rather than the sink/tub-toilet split in regular rooms. We got English muffins and bacon from the store and did a quick breakfast in our room every morning.

EDITED: I found this floor plan of the two bedroom, so it should be pretty close if the 2nd bedroom was locked off.Two-Bedroom-Villa-Floor-Plan-Beach-Club-Villas-from-yourfirstvisit_net_.jpg

You'll have a full kitchen and washer/dryer at your disposal. Not that you want to be cooking or doing laundry but it is convenient and the laundry access does help lighten packing! You'll enjoy yourselves!

Also note that you will only have 1 king sized bed. If you have additional people they will be on the queen pullout couch in the living room

After hours on hold, I got a great CM. Unfortunately, she couldn’t tell me what resort they’d offer me if I kept my dates without transferring me to guest services. I ended up just modifying my dates to December & was able to carry my free dining discount forward. I was just curious what resorts were offered to other YC/BC friends who were still traveling this summer?

We modified our resorts today. We were supposed to stay at Poly for 3 nights and YC 5 nights. Our trip starts July 12th. We were switched to CR Tower Lake View room for both reservations. The CM did look into Copper Creek for us, but no luck with that. But when I looked online while waiting for her to call back I figured we wouldn't be moved because the studios only for 4 and were family of 5. I figured they weren't going to give us a 2 bedroom villa. She also couldn't find any at BCV or BWV for us. Not sure since CR now opening on July 10th that's where they are trying to move people who are still taking their vacations. My husband is super excited because the kids & I always vote CR down on him. The kids and I are trying to get excited for him. I keep reminding the kids that Stormalong Bay is going to be closed, so they are feeling a bit better. But I actually enjoy walking over to HS and Epcot.

I know it’s hard when you had your heart set in something, but I’m sure your whole family will love the CR. Congrats on getting a tower room—you’ll love watching the monorail come through the lobby when you get up in the morning.
I’m not sure if this is 100% accurate, but my CM did tell me that SAB is not scheduled to open when the YC/BC resorts do open.

as of now 200 min wait.....

I was going to wait until later this week to call but you all have me worried nothing decent will be left, even now, for our YC cl stay in august.

The agent transferred me right away to GS BUT said something contradictory. They our offering price protection for our deluxe stay but if can't find something comparable would have to pay the price difference to better?!?!

excluding DVC and a better view, what would my options even be in late August? Only Poly, Contemporary or GF. All others not open yet....Am I thinking clearly. Worried no Poly CL left.

I would be livid and likely will still be even if at a monorail resort, the players are in SAB while we're closed out. Ugh.

the worst part is one trip could have been a split stay since YC opens while we are there but I don't' think Disney will let that happen with these resort moves
