Land Of The Lost - The DVC Members with Resort Reservations and No Tickets Crying Room....

Joining the club.

August 10-22 booked last September.

Always purchase our tickets before it’s FP time. And they shut down ticket sales before then...so what now?

I do understand times are different and they needed an approach but to ignore however many of us there are is just wrong. All the while the reports keep trickling in how people were able to add to their ticket days today while modifying their resorts. Are tickets available? Then we should be able to get them.

Joining the club...Thanksgiving trip planned at the 11 month mark with no tickets so Universal Studios is likely in our future this year as I highly doubt there will be any availability for the parks over the holidays if they sell tickets for 2020! DS16 is not disappointed if we end up at Universal! lol

but if I am thinking about this right because i have december use year too, you have to bank by july or you will need to use them by december or you lose them. You can cancel but you will lose those points
These were Dec 2019 banked into 2020. My use year begins 12/1. But I would need to start booking now for a 2021 vacation if I were to go over spring break. This is too stressful for a vacation! Living in Milwaukee we are limited to times we can go with the kids.

I really don't understand why they can't give us a date when they will possibly reopen ticket sales. They could add all sorts of disclaimers about it being based on capacity, but at least give us a clue. You'd think it would be a couple of days after the non resort guests with tickets can book their park reservations. They will know by then how much capacity is left. The fact that Disney is being so cryptic is worrisome. Heck, that "later this summer" could be after a lot of our trips for all we know!

I made our park reservations for an Oct trip this AM. That one's fine as everyone has tickets. It's an Aug trip for my son and his friends that's messed up. I couldn't even bring myself to get excited about the Oct trip because I'm so worried about my son's trip.

this is what i find most insulting. I have had resort reservations for since last september. Shouldnt their booked resort guests, annual passholders and DVC owners get first crack at it?

IMO, not in this situation when you have day guests who have already purchased tickets.

For Disney, those guests are important too. Why should someone who may have already spend $2k on tickets not have a chance simply because they are not onsite?

People who didn’t get tickets in many cases chose not to because they never had to in advance, I get that, but if there are off site guests with them, they obviously made a different choice.

I agree it was fair to give anyone who has already spent that money a chance first before more tickets are sold,

Now, that doesn’t mean I think they should be given them a long period to book before sales but I few weeks seems reasonable.

My hope is that they will sell again soon. And, yes, I know...not a popular view.

I had a room booked from July 12th to 17th for my son’s birthday. I am modifying it and heading to Universal. You are at least guaranteed entrance if you stay on property. How can you not know when you plan on selling tickets for 2020? Quite disappointed in the way they handled the whole thing.

I think they probably have a general idea but are working with capacity limits and they can not oversell, if they already have more tickets out there.

I have an October 17-25 trip. Two of six people have tickets. Thankfully I can bank until the end of October so I certainly hope I will know if we get park reservations before holding kicks in. Still nerve wracking though!

Have room reservations for September 2021, but no tickets yet. We were gonna book a split stay with the 2nd part DVC, but we can’t do that till October. Our annual passes expire July, but we have a daughter who just turned 3 and needs a pass now but can’t get one cause they aren’t selling. And finally, we were gonna let our passes expire and purchase new ones for all three of us in October so it would cover next September and a *possible* trip in April but since we will probably be locked out by then we will probably just have to reschedule 😪

You can buy 2021 tickets starting June 24th. You can always buy multi day tickets...since APs may not start back up again...and then upgrade to the AP when you get to the park for the first trip. This way, if you were worried about booking park days now for September 2021, you can.

I can upgrade the tickets to the Gold DVC annual pass?? What if the tickets are part of a package?

It has been a long time since I have bought anything but AP’s. It is my understanding that when you buy multi day tickets they are for specific dates. What happens if you need to change your trip can you use the tickets for different dates and pay the difference if they happen to be more expensive days.

I’m all for giving current ticket holders a chance, but I wish they would’ve given us dvc members who are stuck in a use it or lose it situation equal chance. Some of us like me are in ticket limbo despite buying tickets in advance.

I have an AP. I purchased my moms ticket as soon as I booked the trip. 2 weeks before our state shut down my foster son moved in. In those first two weeks I didn’t know if he would stay with me or move on to a relative’s home so I didn’t buy a ticket. I’m still not sure if he will be with me in Nov, but I still would’ve been willing to drop the money on the ticket now just to book parks. But since I couldn’t, I have to just hope that tickets open up soon and I can match him to the park days and if not I don’t know what to do.

Is this the crying room or the Lets Make Excuses for everything room....

just checking.

I'm here to cry.

Thanksgiving reservation here- no tickets. I have no problem with priority being given to people with tickets. I have no problem with AP holders getting priority. They've dropped a lot of $$ - by all means. Go for it.

I DO have a problem being lumped in with people who don't have tickets AND who don't have a resort reservation for the remainder of 2020.

I DO have a problem with them sorting out 2021 before 2020.

Also I DO have a problem with total lack of mention or point of note from DVC about these quantifiable groups of people - they know exactly how many people have reservations without tickets or passes linked for 2020. Send us an email. I got about 5 recipe recommendations during the closure - I know how to make tonga toast....but i DONT know when I can buy tickets. Tell us to hold tight. Tell us you can't wait to welcome us home anyway - say SOMETHING. It is really annoying to me that DVC wasn't mentioned AT ALL and everyone else is getting emails "Be the FIRST to book your reservations!".

Also - for any apologists - I don't need to be reminded that it's a timeshare - I totally know what I bought and by the way I still value it for what it is. I am not expecting FREE tickets....I just think we should have had a chance to buy them before people who don't have resort reservations - not before cash reservation guests - all of us resorts but no tickets people should get a shot together. it IS a timeshare but it's also - and i can't reiterate this enough - a WDW onsite resort reservation.

"later this summer" I am fairly certain there is no way, even if we get a chance to buy a ticket, anything will be available for park reservations for Thanksgiving week.

Cry over. Thank you for this room of gloom.

I definitely feel for anyone in this situation...that is why I said, even though I think it was fair to give any ticket holder the chance first, I don't think it should be for long. And, I really have a good feeling it is going to be shorter than many of us think. Plus, when they do open it up, people will know, before they buy, how many days they can get and wont purchase something that ends up useless.

I almost had the same situation with one of my family for August. My cousin's friend didn't buy her ticket after our March trip was canceled and we moved it. She wanted to wait and of course, was without one. I had to book all of us and hope they would open before the trip.

The only reason we are now okay is because my friends that were coming with me in October decided they want to postpone until next year so I was able to reassign that 3 day ticket...or, I would be in ticket limbo like you.

hit the nail on the head, why are they not communicating? This isnt an oops we forgot, they know this is a huge population of people and they know what the plan is.

There is also the conspiracy theory being floated that its such a large population of people that they want us to cancel so they can manage attendance even more for the rest of 2020.

Hey MilwaukeeMom we are also from Milwaukee! We too only get to go about once per year. We book months in advance. We don't usually buy tickets until atleast 180days out. This is crazy
