Just a friendly 4th of July reminder that absolutely no one is going to watch the video of fireworks you recorded on your phone.

It's my Dd 10th birthday party Sunday, so today she wants to make her own cake and I'm the assistant

Canada Day this year, with no fireworks, concerts, community stuff, for me just felt like another Wednesday...

Happy Saturday. We celebrated 4th of July with city fireworks in 5 different park spots past night. We could see the downtown fireworks from the back yard. Had the firepit going with s'mores and music on the phone. It was a good evening.

Enjoyed some EPL this morning. Dan's West Ham club is advancing as the other teams at the bottom are losing.

Why are Werther's originals heinous? There are many other caramel things there and even a few that aren't caramel. I've mentioned it, the caramel apples are great, but then again that's something that's pretty hard to mess up.

Don't forget the fresh caramel popcorn.

To his non-revolting Canadian brethren, have a great weekend also!
The way I look at it, after WWII, we're all brothers...if we hadn't banded together, we would all be speaking German or Japanese. I know this is to celebrate independence from Britain, but also mighty happy we're not flying swastikas or red circles.

Have you watched Man in the High castle on Amazon Prime. It's eerie of what could have been.

Just curious...will the "new normal" affect the way you celebrate this year?
Curious because Canada Day this year, with no fireworks, concerts, community stuff, for me just felt like another Wednesday...

No changes for me. We sometimes go to a 4th party with a few friends (& kids) and private fireworks, but we don't do the downtown city drunk crowd scene anymore. Last night was really not all that different. The only thing this new normal has changed for me is wearing the mask. I'm still in the camp the cloth ones aren't effective, but if it helps quell the irrational fears, then I'm doing my part.

Are you saying that some of your Canadian brethren are revolting and some aren't, or are you inferring that all us in the USA are revolting? I've been called a lot of things before, but revolting was never one of them..."disgusting, a pig, gross, ewww", but never revolting.

As an aside I'm still tracing the ancestors and have found most of them on my father's side are from the Midlands and south with a stray Yorkshire ancestor or two in there. All of them arrived more than 100 years before we ever made a fuss so I'd say they were a bit fed up even then. A few cases of Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout should start to sooth the irritation that I have had to carry for them all these years. While taxation without representation was a part of the complaints against George it had far more to do with judicial and legislative issues. From the Declaration of Independence...He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good. He has forbidden his Governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance. He has refused to pass otherlaws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only. 1. Rum - I must confess I have to mix my liquor, and I know enough that bourbon deserves more respect than mixing it, so I don't drink it.
2. Flower & Garden - I am too much of a meat & potatoes guy to appreciate F&W
3. Karmell-Kuche
4. Fish & Chips - I was eating that years before I even heard of poutine
5. Early rise - although I've done both


I don't listen to/watch much stand up comedy, but I could listen to Bob all day. Comic genius.

Well, until you went and dissed fish and chips.
Now I'm not sure....

No big changes here. The bigger town to the south is still doing fireworks so we will find a place to park and watch.

Sorry I've missed a few days been crazy at work with the cases spiking here. And by the time I get home I don't feel like getting on the internet.

Bit sore this morning.
Went for a 4K run yesterday afternoon as my regular running partner was having some friends over. Then in the evening she asked if I wanted to go. Sure, why not? Ran another 3K.
Never ran 7K in a day before.

I've been called a lot of things before, but revolting was never one of them..."disgusting, a pig, gross, ewww", but never revolting.

At least now you can add it to the list!
