We rode Rise of the Resistance on Walt's Birthday on our first Mother/Daughter Trip! December 2019! Updated September 19th!

I am so new at this whole Uber thing,
this trip having been the first time I've ever attempted it on my own,
and here's where my "newb" status shows.

I still haven't tried Uber on my own, but I have used Lyft a few times.

I really should have known better and asked to go to The Contemporary Resort.

Good tip to remember.

Plus, I got to take a couple of nice pics from the monorail...

Wow what a busy day. I’m glad you both enjoyed RoTR. It really is an amazing ride.
We have been using Uber and Lyft quite a bit now on our trips, time saver for sure! I’m hoping one day Disney will let ride share into the MK bus area! This would be nice.

Yes, we just threw all our stuff down next to the PP. It was nice in the sun, but as soon as the sun went down it was absolutely freezing!

We made that mistake once too. Though you have to be careful even going to the Contemporary b/c they wouldn't let us behind the gate one time because we didn't have an ADR. So we of course just jumped out at the guard gate

What else could you do? I'm sure we would have done the same!

Because I'm a sucker I just ordered some more for our October trip.

I'm tempted because some of the new ones are so cute, but I've barely used this one so I think I'll hold off.

No boarding groups just walk as fast as the crowds will let you.

I remember doing that a couple months after FOP opened, and I totally lost Mike in the crowd so I went on by myself! Turns out, he didn't really want to go on anyway…and still hasn't been on, so I'm glad I didn't wait for him!

Yes we do! It will just be Danielle and I this trip so we can be more flexible.

I think they're pretty much the same. I tried LYFT first from the airport and the car never showed up and still charged me (I disputed it and got my money back after), but after that I just used Uber.

Real-Life Update!

Sorry, everyone!

I was going along so well with my updates and then just came to a screening halt!

I've had kind of a bad week this past week. First, my DS left for Basic Training on Monday He joined the US Army Reserves and is now gone for 4-5 months. We had a big party for him last Saturday and then on Monday a small group of friends came over for an impromptu send off, which was really sweet.


He's such a good kid and I'm going to miss him a lot, but he really wanted to do this so I am super proud of him

During the little send-off on Monday, I tripped in the garage and hurt my left fore-arm/wrist pretty bad. Of course, I waited for Nicholas to leave and then had Allie drive me to get an x-ray. Thank goodness my arm wasn't broken, but it's still pretty sore and has been in a sling all week Just what I need. I do think it's starting to feel better now…at least I can use it to type. I had all this time to update my TR, but it's a pain in the neck to type one-handed.

He called Wednesday to read his address to me from a script and I don't know when I'll hear from him again now. Ugh…this is going to be a lonnnngggg 4 months.

And you know how things come in threes? Well, I also cracked my iPhone glass on Saturday during the party.

So for those keeping count that's three broken things in one week…my heart, my phone, and my arm (not really broken). That's quite enough, don't you think?!

We've been keeping busy with other things in the mean time. Allie and her boyfriend made fried oreos yesterday that were surprisingly delicious...






because nothing makes you feel better than fried food, right?
We're already trying to think of what else we can deep fry! Any ideas??

One bit of good news is that both mine and Allie's APs got the 1-month extension added so I will now be able to transfer the 9-day PH ticket back to Nicholas and include him on our park reservations for April. I have no idea whether or not he'll be able to come, but I want to include him, just in case. Did you all elect to take the 30-day extension?
I'm hoping that this pays off and we can still go in October and then in April…otherwise, what a waste. We shall see!

Oh! One last thing! I also made a reservation for February 11-16, 2021 at POP for Allie and me. We are thinking that maybe we can visit a couple colleges at that time, since none are allowing tours at the moment.
I have no idea if that trip will happen, but it's there, just in case! I made park reservations kind of based on which we would miss if we were busy touring colleges.

Mike got the 30 day extension but his pass was expiring 7/26 so now it expires 8/26 so it's not much help to us lol. He wasn't going to renew his pass since we have no idea when we'll be back but since they aren't allowing new APs right now, he ended up just renewing. I bought a new AP earlier this year instead of renewing so it's just sitting inactive in my account now waiting until we can travel.

It is so hard when they start leaving the nest. How proud you must be of him.

I think we will renew our AP’s in August to get the extra month. If 2021 is better we will be using our AP plenty! I hope so
Christmas at WDW is very magical, we have been twice in November and really enjoyed that time of the year.

That's odd. I just looked and even from the furthest point in CT, it gave me 18:20 as a drive time.
