I often read comments by Americans on news stories and they have an odd, perplexing fear of socialism.
I really think most of them have no idea what it is.

I had a vendor at work compare wearing masks to getting on a train to Auschwitz. It's like get a freaking grip. How ridiculously insensitive and just plain stupid can you be to make a comment like that in a work setting or anywhere else for that matter.

I also find it ridiculous when people complain that the media isn't reporting any good news and when faced with numbers of positive tests and deaths they complain that the number of recoveries aren't reported.

The list is too long and seems to be perpetuated by the same tired conspiracy theorists and Fox News. I cannot for the life of me reason with any of these people.I am exhausted and angry with those who have chosen to ignore the advice of medical experts and then cause the virus to shut down our lives. The funniest thing is that our military is just one huge socialist machine. The entire thing. Every aspect of how it's run and funded, right down to the commissaries where people just LOVE to shop for their subsidized groceries.

And yet, I challenge you to find me just ONE person who complains about socialism and yet, has an issue with this. I'll wait. I'll be waiting for a long time.

1st, I've never personally heard anyone say they were going to hide in their home, until there's a vaccine. They may not be going out often, but they're not hiding in their home. This is nothing but people using hyperbole to push their agenda. 2nd, the notion that staying at home waiting for a vaccine is more dangerous than going out is ludicrous. Yes, we need to continue living, but it would absolutely be safer, if everyone but the most essential of workers were staying at home.

Those say "keep schools closed until there is a vaccine" which is not the same thing as "stay at home until there is a vaccine". Some (many?) people think that opening up schools is among the more risky activities and, thus, want to delay that. You/I/others may disagree with this thought (which is fair), but to say that this is the same saying "stay at home until there is a vaccine" is just false.

That characterization of the articles is false. Neither of the first two said we should all hide in our homes and both of them were talking about how families with an immunocompromised member or a member with a preexisting condition making them vulnerable may not be able to send kids back to school.
Nobody said we should all hide in our homes in the third article either.

My favorites are the ones that yell at the top of their lungs for 10 minutes they have a breathing problem and can't wear a mask.

In less than 4 months, our government successfully instilled fear in a majority of the population in America that allows them to control every aspect of your life. Including what you eat, where you go, who you see and your toilet paper.

And the most dangerous and terrifying part? People are not afraid of the government who removed their freedom. They're afraid of their neighbors, family and friends.

And they hate those who won't comply.

It's absolutely terrifying to me that so many people don't question "authority". They are willing to surrender their critical thinking skills and independence. They just... gave up without thinking. Without a fight.

Do you know what's coming next?
"It's just a vaccine. Come on. It's for the greater good".

Wait until you're told that you can't enter any store or business without proof of the Covid-19 vaccine. Wait until you can't go to public events or get on a plane without proof of receiving the vaccine.

To everyone that doesn't believe this is possible - DO YOU UNDERSTAND that government successfully dictated to people WHEN they were allowed to be outside, where they were allowed to go, and how their children would be educated in less than 4 months? And that a majority of the population followed blindly because they were told to do so.

You're kidding yourself if you think this behavior won't be repeated with a vaccine. Or whatever the next step is.
