Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

I just proactively called for my August 9-12 reservations. She said they aren't accepting reservation prior to August 16, with a hopeful August 15 park opening.

Thank you for this information. I was primarily wondering if there is going to be an opening date at all. At least chances look decent in October.

I’m not expecting the parks to open before Labor Day at the earliest. The county has to fall off the watch list for a certain number of consecutive days before the state will begins to allow closed sectors to even think about reopening.

Oh, right. Well, when school restarts, it will probably spike again.

Humm... so maybe it won't open after all. But then the rules might change. The state might cave into economic pressure.

Didn’t someone say reservations are being pushed until after 8/22?
I wouldn’t be surprised to see them pushed to after 9/1 or later. I’m still not sure why they don’t just suspend new reservations. It’s like they just want to create work for the reservation CM’s. So they keep allowing reservations to be made that will just have to be cancelled.

With the one-night deposits, allowing new reservations puts a bit of money in Disney's pocket for awhile. And I'm not going to begrudge giving the reservations CMs work. Better than laying them off.

I don't want them out of jobs either. I just think it is unfair to guests to keep having the reservations cancelled after giving them false hopes.

The landscape is littered with false hopes these past months.

I do believe Disney has the best intentions to open as soon as they are allowed to and safely able to for both CMs and visitors. They've been pretty reasonable and clear on the visitors side from what I've seen.

I have no doubts that DISNEY is ready to open TODAY with all the necessary safety protocols in place. Unfortunetly it is not in Disney's hands whether they open or not. I honestly don't see the parks reopening anytime in the next 60 days and Spring 2021 might be a more realistic goal. :(

Very much so in the cards and variables given the fits of start and stops the country is experiencing.

I do believe Knott's has the struck the right balance for the interim, and hoping that Disney really is watching this as Knott's keeps expanding the dates. Disney definitely has the Food and Wine experience and ability to partially open DCA makes sense; bonus with Mainstreet outdoors retail will bring in foot traffic from DTD just to get and visit the hub and castle....that should be sufficient enough to open one of the hotels in support.

Mark us down for a few visits along with a stay or two to bide time over to reopening.

Legoland is now letting people into the park to shop and visit Miniland. Hotel guests and annual pass holders, from what I can tell, are the ones who this is being offered to. They are charging hotel guests a fee of $25 for up to 4 people to enter.

Disneyland could totally do something along these lines and I think they should.

Would Disneyland even be allowed to open up just for food and shopping? Is the approval to open just linked to rides?

I’m not sure of the exact details of the health orders. But it seems they are more lax when it comes to outdoor activities. So as long as they are strict with masks, social distancing, and enforcement it could be ok. And maybe if they kept the on-site hotels closed it would show they aren’t trying to attract out of area people
