Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

We got on skyliner from pop at 7:50 but the Caribbean beach line to studios is down so we were put in a very very long bus line to go to studios. We definitely will be after the curve getting in. Still better than work tho

I am there

If you don't mind and have the time, please ask one of the POP managers if there is indeed now a Disney-approved Guest Walkway from POP to CBR as has been reported.

It would be awesome if so,but I have serious doubts.

For one,if there is such a Guest Walkway now,why wasn't it offered as an alternative when the POP/AoA Skyliner line was down for Maintenence in January?

A Bus was provided from POP to CBR Station but no mention of " And also Pop Century Guests may use the new Guest Walkway from Pop Century to CBR Station".

Thanks.

I would like to find that video too because I have heard of people walking from POP to CBR.
Regarding microwaves and toasters, I thought I had read you could ask a cast member to help you but could not access them yourself.
Has anyone else heard something like that?
Thanks!

Since we took the skyliner last night after studios closed we didn’t go to main building. Will attempt to find someone to ask tonight or maybe tomorrow morning since it is our Epcot day and we have some morning time (to ask about walking to CBR)

This morning the family behind us in line for AK found someone unconscious by the Goofy surfboard - he did have a cup so maybe drunk but also bleeding from face. So if anyone saw a lot of fire dept vehicles around 6:35 this morning that is why.

We were at AK bus stop at 6:30. Line outside queue but by 6:45 3 busses pulled up and loaded us all.

yesterday when the skyliner to studios was not working and we had to wait for busses at CBR end were in a very long line - it still worked out fine. We had walkon to ToT and RnR. It seemed like we would be late to park but they did a good job.
It kinda stinks that food court is closed til 7 when some parks open at 8 but we have had the same situation in the past so nothing new. Only difference is in old days the drink area opened at 6:30.

Also for the mugs you can show the receipt only or even a photo of it to get refills. That is convenient. I also noticed they had cup holders if you need to carry several. In September they didn’t or at least didn’t offer us one. I lost a drink on way back to room last trip. I also saw a lady lose a hot coffee onto her toddler so that may also partly be why they have them now.

In other news we were pretty far back in line at AK bus stop but somehow our bus was the very first bus to arrive at AK today. We were in the park at 7:05 and are 4th in line to go into Pandora. They must have repainted part of the glowing pavement on the right side as you enter pandora because they have it fenced off and the paint fumes are intense.

Officially booked for Pop for 10/26-11/5! Can't wait to spend my birthday, anniversary, and my daughter's 6th birthday at Disney!!

I know they don't have community microwaves, but will they allow a request for one in room? We'll have an infant and if I need to warm milk up, it would be a lot easier than trying to do it with hot water.

Due to fire regulations microwaves are not allowed in guest rooms.

This has been happening for more than a week now as like the parks, the pools have reduced capacity. Wish it was different but they're having to reduce capacity everywhere.

Has anyone been at Pop recently and experienced this? If so, how long was your return after signing up? I have heard it can be an hour+ but don't know if that is true or not. Would prefer to hear first-hand experiences. TIA!

I am "guessing" Bowling and Computer are not reaching Capacity-Bowling is our favorite so we would be in good shape. :)

Does anyone know if AoA Guests are being allowed to use the POP Pools while Big Blue is down?

If not,I bet Cozy Cone and Mermaid STAY at Capacity.

Positive note-nice to see the 11:00 PM close has returned.

We didn’t go to the pool but the bowling pool has not been closed for capacity that I saw. It is busy tonight and was last night but there seemed to still be available lounge chairs. It didn’t look crowded at all to me. We were not at Pop during afternoon. I didn’t even look at the main pool when it was open at all.

That’s new right? Saw a report on the YC/BC thread that SAB is now open until 11pm too. The resorts I visited last week were still 10pm so looks like they’ve adjusted to longer spring/summer hours property wide. Good to see!

Disney seems to have hired a bus company to help with transportation. I have seen this in the past but they regularly have had charter busses doing Pop park runs. Unfortunately they let people seat themselves and they didn’t do such a good job. They mostly did every other row but sat right across the aisle from each other. They do move a lot more people and they have people put their open strollers under the Bus. Sorry the photo is sideways

Thanks for posting. I saw it reported at ASMovies (link below) when it reopened early this week that they were using these, guess its other resorts too.

Are there any reports on how they're handling wheelchairs and ECVs?

I don't get it, why link a 10 year old post? If you want to look at the video I mentioned it is on YouTube filmed this year. The person is always on a sidewalk/walkway and there are people all over walking around.

Edit- I just mentioned it because I saw it last week. I have not walked it personally nor will I any time soon. I do enough walking in the parks ;)

Can you share a link to the video? I searched for this after I saw your original post. Having another option of travel if the Skyliner is too long would be great to have. From looking at the maps as of now, it seems like there are no walking paths or the like that are completely safe for guests to use.

Im trying to do my online check in and I wanted to request the 60's building but its not in the drop down. Any idea why? My stay starts 04/17
