Fastpass return or replacement?

Someone mentioned in another thread that if there are paid Fastpasses then Disney might have to be more strict about DAS by potentially employing a 3rd party review company. I have no experience with DAS currently, so I don't know what the current process is, but I thought that was an interesting theory.

Even if today might have been the day, the chaos of Covid skyrocketing in Florida is probably going to push off any major operational announcements. Too much uncertainty right now.

California’s numbers are increasingly becoming concerning and they could be following Florida’s path but Disneyland’s AP replacement program is being announced tomorrow.

On MDE , the fastpass selection has been removed overnight. When you search for it, it used to bring up make fastpass selection even though link was dead. Now that option has gone .
For me, that was gone after the last update on July 28th. I don’t do automatic updates; I’m the odd one who checks each morning and updates apps myself, so I can see which apps are changing. It does still say “View My Plans - Dining, Hotels, Fast Pass +, and more”, though.

I noticed it was gone too, but I did just update my app, so I assume it disappeared with that.

C'est trop cher!
I think at the moment only tourists on 1 day trips will use them. Lines are not bad now. A rides like Buzz does not need it often. During EMH or late hours, dinner time etc, you can will have 15 min wait max. For Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain it will be useful.

This is absolutely ridiculous! $70 for a family 4 to just ride Peter Pan! o_O Hope this flops. Glad we got to visit DLP in 2017. Paid 46 Euro each to do both parks and had a great time. We are done. If they do the same with US parks, then we will spend our money to go to Universal, Europe, Asia, cruises, etc.. instead. I am sure we will get much nicer vacations for $10K. Just crazy!

i'm telling you, if this is what they do at WDW, they're telling us that they dont want those of us that spend less than 10k to visit WDW anymore.

I've always been able to get really nice vacations for much cheaper than a Disney trip. But I love Disney. I love my other trips too, but I can't get Disney at them, so they wouldn't even come close to being a replacement. Thankfully my love for Disney has only gotten stronger in recent years. So it will be a very long while, if ever, that I get to that point.
