STAR WARS: GALACTIC STARCRUISER Official Information & Questions Thread

I understand completely -- just before getting through, I had my wife come stand by the phone while i used the bathroom!
It was less than 5 minutes after that when the CM picked up....

Did you get through yet ??

Lol I really thought my shower would do it, but NO! Come on Tawanda! Bring some of that awesomeness my way! I have a dentist’s appointment at 1:00. I am lucky I have the day off today. Arghhhhh

What kind of accommodation did you get? congratulations!

ok just wrapped up the call, after 4+ hours on hold, the call itself took 25 minutes. Originally called in on the AP line and was 'screened' about 7:45am, they just confirmed my info and that I was an AP holder (did not need a code, and we didn't get any emails), and what date I was looking for. Then transferred me to the Reservation team, where I spent on hold until 11:20.

Couple of interesting things:
got our first choice of dates, last week in March, standard cabin for 2 adults - $5231.14 (20% deposit paid today, balance 90 days out).
you choose either early (5:30) or late (8:00) dinner seating, which is for both nights. But can change this later, if needed.
We added the captains table for one of the dinners, additional $30 each, total of $60.30 for two. This is a separate reservation and charge.
Option to add travel protection for $82.50 each person.
We should get all kinds of email with further details and info.

I am exhausted, my sandwich is half made (at least the call didn't go through while in the bathroom)

KUDOS! The force is strong with you :)
How long was your total wait? and what nights/cabin did you book?
Well I called the 9277 number right at 7, was on hold for 25 minutes and spoke with a cast member. She asked me some credentials and transferred me to another queue. It automatically said the wait time was longer than 30 minutes and then silence. Absolute silence for 2 hours and four minutes. I had a meeting so I added my husband to the call so I could step away for an appointment and 7 mins later a lady came on and my husband was able to book two nights during our spring break in a suite! Also was able to do the Captains table!

this is good to know because I was so worried that they passed me on to some ‘bad’ queue for people who didn’t have a code ready. Turns out I’m just a little unlucky with the order of the queue being picked up. I hope one day my princess Tawana will come. :D:rolleyes1

I think the long hold times are partly due to the time it takes to make a booking, Towanda said its a whole new system they needed to learn and it takes a while to go over all of the info they have.

I'm going to attempt to convert the points charts into cash equivalents. My assumption is that they're assigning a value of about $8.17 per point (based on $4,809 being 359 points). I should note that I have 560 points annually split between Boardwalk, Boulder Ridge and Grand Californian. My annual dues are $4,205.98, and that works out to about $7.51/point. That means they're asking an extra $0.66/point against the value of the points themselves which makes it look reasonable. So here we go with per person rates:

Category/SeasonValue WeekdayValue WeekendDeluxe WeekdayDeluxe WeekendStandard WeekdayStandard WeekendExclusive WeekdayExclusive WeekendHoliday
Standard Adult2,4102,5822,6232,8512,6232,6232,8763,0152,851

Additional adults beyond the 2nd passenger are $700. Additional children beyond the 2nd passenger are $490.

My standard disclaimer: I have no inside information. I'm just a geek wasting time here. Please notify me if I got my math wrong somewhere.

I did not have an email with a code either! It was no issue at all

I called the DVC number at 9 when they opened (I am not an AP holder), got through quickly but it disconnected. Called back over 50 times, finally got someone and they transferred me over....wait time now is 365 minutes. It's been an hour of far. Hopefully, those times are not accurate...lol. Anyone a DVC member and successfully book with their points yet?

Ok so I did get a call back from someone from Galactic Starcruiser reservations, which I did not expect!!

I booked May the 4th for our voyage for my wife, 5 year old godson, and I it was $6500 for a standard cabin with insurance. Insurance allows you to cancel at anytime right up to the day of the trip for any reason. I made sure to ask, not matter the reason, it is all covered....and for $171 seems like a good idea.

Also on the passholder deal...the guy who called me was a supervisor and he did make me verify both my wife's email address and code before even going on. I asked him about it and he did say that yes you need an AP and the code and part of the problem today has been the number of people calling without the code. Take that with a grain of salt...but he def was not having any talking until he verified that info.

So now I will go back and forth in my head about the cost and value and if I am crazy...I have until the 4th to decide :crazy2:

Thanks Punkrock......
We booked a Galaxy Class Suite, and we added one night at the Captain's Table.
I'm splitting this right down the middle with a friend. Neither of our wives are StarWars geeks like us.
We are all DVC members, so we have that in common as well. I hope "Tawanda" comes through for you today!

May 4th would have been my 1st choice, but my cabin mate could not go on that date.
I would think there would be high demand for that date ??

I find it irritating that the solo adult traveler costs the same as two adults when they'd have booked the same room for an adult and a child for less. But so be it. I'm not going alone anyway. But I do have to wait until 10/28 to book since I'm trying for the 6/1 voyage. Will everyone please make sure they keep a room on that date set aside for me?

So yes he said it is the highest weekday price going right now and that it was almost full. So full that there was no Captains Table for either night......BOO!! He offered other dates with captains table...but I only wanted the 4th!

Thanks E2ME2. Well, I had to lie about an emergency cancellation to my dentist. I feel really bad about inconveniencing others because of this. Why am I doing this, again? Part of me wonders if I’m just in it because I’ve waited so long at this point and I’m stubborn.

Also…..I was able to get on hold on the Galactic Star Cruiser line again on my other phone line, only to be turned away again. They are saying the phone line is just plain closed, so I should stay on with my original silent hold. I’m very frustrated with this at this point.

Edit: whoops my browser glitched and I responded to the wrong post you made, but you know I’m responding to your post to me. 😂

Hi - so I’m a new Annual Pass holder who just signed up. I tried reserving for Galactic Starcruiser this morning but was unfortunately told I can’t get in the queue because my annual pass hasn’t been activated…

We have a trip starting October 17, but I’m hoping to go there October 10 just to activate my annual pass so that I can reserve. However my wife can’t join me. 2 questions:

1) If I have 2 annual passes (and I paid for both), can they both be activated when I go there? Or would my wife need to be there to activate hers?

2) If only my annual pass is activated, would I be able to reserve a Galactic Starcruiser trip for 2? Or do we both need active annual passes?
