Might seem like a silly question, but since dty cleaning is no longer being offered, Has anyone ever used the laundry there, I have never used a public laundry, Are the machines easy to use, As my mom does have incontinance issues I may need to use it. I wonder i its fairly accessible to the whole hotel. depending where they stick u. Do u just start and come back later. How long can u leave clothes in the dryer. Like can u go to the park and get it later or should u stay close by.

Here is a link to an old thread on GCH laundry facilities.
If you are doing laundry, I feel it is best to stay close by while the washer or dryer are cycling.
I would not go to the parks while I have laundry either washing or drying.

Please don’t be one of those people. Washing takes what, 45 minutes to an hour and drying maybe an 60 to 80 minutes….

If you know you can get into the park and back to the laundry within that time frame, fine, but don’t just tie up a machine for three or four hours by leaving to go have fun.

I am going to piggyback on the OP and ask if anyone knows what's up with laundry at DL hotel? Since the old laundry area is demolished? I really hope they have an onsite alternative and I don't have to lug several loads to GC or PP during our 10 day trip in December.

Washers at the Grand are small, full loads dont wash good. I remember using 2 different washers to wash 1 load. Dryers are huge and dries fast.

Do the old college dorm rules apply at GCH? I remember we would dump loads after an hour, but we were 18, lol. I kept a magnet with my room # and slapped it on the machine just in case.

anyway…I’ve used the machines once, it’s card based. Don’t go into the parks while using.

vend out

Are there instructions on how to use, and do they vend out detergent?

Yes detergent is a $1 and same with dryer sheets. Washers and dryer’s are self explanatory.

oh detergent is free with my laundry card since im dvc!

We were at the Grand last week and did laundry there. There was a laundry room on our floor, but I don't know if they have them on every floor. We were on the first floor and it was literally just a few doors down from us. I think there were 2 washing machines and 4 dryers, if I remember correctly. There's a machine that dispenses soap and fabric softener. You pay for the machines using a credit card and instructions were pretty easy to follow; although the instructions were on the wall across from the machines where you pay, not on the machines themselves. When we went, someone left their clothes in the only available washer for about 20 minutes and I took them out and put them in a dryer because I didn't have time to wait. With that few number of washers, I personally think it's rude not to be there when your stuff is done and had no problem moving it.

The machines worked fine.

How long does the washer cycle, i set mine at home pretty short

Can u set the time? Only 2 wahsing machines? did u just go back to your room ? or wait there/

I haven't used them at this hotel but I have used similar set-ups at other hotels. I usually look at my watch and figure out what time the wash will be done. I go back to my room, and then a few minutes before the wash will be done, I go the laundry room and move the wash to the drier, and then repeat the process when it's time to remove the laundry from the drier.

I believe the laundry room on the first floor is in the dvc wing, the bigger laundry area is on the 2nd floor in the section of the hotel past storytellers, go thru the door take the elevator to the 2nd floor turn left and it is right there,
