Is there anyone super excited about their upcoming trip?

We have a trip coming up in June 19-29.

Right now the world is crazy. Omicron is everywhere and the news is bad wherever you look. The stress most days feels overwhelming
But one daughter will be celebrating finishing her first year of college. The other daughter will be celebrating finishing her freshman year of high school. We are going to be together and enjoying our happy place. Life is too short and the world is an unpleasant place right now. I just can’t let all this other stuff wear me down. G+, LL, Mears transportation, It does not matter. We are counting down the days to be home. And can’t wait.

Anyone else actually looking forward to a trip?

We have been planning (and saving) for a multi-generational family trip for almost four years now. We were wanting to visit during the 50th celebration and were hoping to experience all the (at the time) planned new attractions. Although it may not look the same as we originally envisioned we are still can't wait to go! We will be a family group of 13 and it will be magical! It is finally this year and we are all so excited: from Grandpa down to the four year old! We have been look forward to it for so long I don't know that anything can dampen our excitement! We are just planning to role with whatever comes our way and enjoy the memories we are creating together knowing this will truly be a once in a lifetime trip for us!

That’s our attitude! Roll with whatever comes our way. I’m so sad for all these people “dreading” their trips!I can’t imagine.

The multi generational trip sounds like such a blast! Have a magical time!!

We are going in two weeks- our kids are so excited! This is a one and done Disney trip so I feel a lot of pressure to make sure it’s perfect. I have a list of “must do’s” that keeps getting longer and longer!

I remember that pressure! Our first trip was also supposed to be a “one and done” (according to hubby) but then five more trips happened somehow! 😬. You will get lots of good tips here. Have fun planning!

ETA: if I could give one piece of advice, don’t sweat it when things go wrong. On our first trip in 2009, I had a meltdown when it poured rain on our only HS day and we missed seeing Fantasmic. There were other issues but that broke me for some reason. Try to let things roll off your back you can’t control.

I think the pressure of "perfect" really gets to folks, they're so worried about it being just right that they end up missing the joy. I get it, because its a big investment and a once in a lifetime for some people, but it is hard to see

I'm always excited. I was last there for the 50th and left saying I was going to take a break and go to other destinations. That lasted 2 months before I found myself wanting to go back and now I have 2 trips planned this year. I have even contemplated renewing my AP in September even though I've said it's just too expensive to go often enough to make the AP worth it now. Disney is my happy place.

Yes. We went 3 times in 2021 and had a blast. I was excited for every trip and can’t wait until I go back in May.
Sounds like you have been before. And like you said- don’t let the changes get you down. You will figure it out.

Yes, we’ve been in 2009, 2013, 2017, 2018, 2019, and Christmas break 2020. So this will be #7. We had the best trip ever during our”Covid” trip in December 2020. I was skeptical and a lot worried, but we adjusted our expectations and had so much fun. I expect the same this time.

Yes. My next trip is in February with a group of friends. We are doing the Princess 5k/10k. I am going with 1 who's never gone without her kids before and another who's never gone without her husband before. I love girls trips and can't wait for this one.

There's no doubt there's a lot about Disney operations that disappoints me now. I haven't let that stop me from having numerous great trips since the reopening. They are different now and I go in with a different mind set.
