The Oogie Boogie Bash 2022 Thread (ALL DATES SOLD OUT)

They usually have 2 parades. You can get a spot about 15 minutes before. Personally, I wouldn’t pay for a dessert party for it, unless you absolutely wanted a chair.

Just keep in mind that it gets extremely busy during the mix in time, so ride lines get very long. Like 40 minutes for Little Mermaid long. Might be a good time to do Mickey’s Philarmagic, Turtle Talk, etc.
Yes!

Our plan is to mobile order Flo's, take some time to explore Halloween decor in cars land, and then head over to try and catchy the Halloween show over by the animation building that happens right at 6 while it's still kinda light out. The first parade is at 730
So we plan to find a spot for that and then go focus on treat trails after the first parade. We plan to end the night with villains grove.

The one thing I'm struggling with is the character meets that aren't treat trails.. do they have those? Guess we don't know yet!

In the past, yes, there were also character meets. In 2019 they were around the fountain by Cathay Circle and I believe there was also a character M&G sort of near where the walkway from Ariel's dead ends into GRR (and you would turn left to head to Redwood Creek/Villains Grove). There may have been another one somewhere too.

ETA: looking at maps from 2021 and 2019 there were character meets in the places mentioned above as well as by Paradise Bay (Mickey & Minnie), on Paradise Pier in a couple places, in Cars Land and in Avengers Campus.

My take is unless you need a place to sit or prefer to sit, a dessert party isn’t necessary as there is always plenty of room on the parade route to find good viewing spots.

I’ve always enjoyed character meet and greets and with OBB I know they bring out rare characters, in 2019 they had blue fairy, Shan yu, gov Radcliffe, frollo to name a few. I saw last year they even had Agatha so I hope they bring her back again too! I know they had announced 2 new villains forever ago but haven’t heard much else since that initial announcement, has anyone else heard any rumblings??

I'm wondering about this as well, as I've never gone to a special hours party like Oogie Boogie before. What are thoughts from people who went last year about doing the parade dessert party?
We did it for the 2nd parade last year. We loved it. We went to Villain's Grove during the first parade--- very short line because so many people were at the parade (and I know a lot of people really love VG, but we were underwhelmed- and got stuck in a bottleneck inside it not moving for a bit--- not sure what was going on there-- thinking someone might have fallen on some steps. I was glad we didn't wait in a long line for it).

I love the parade and know I'm going to want to watch it and stake out a decent spot. It was great to be able to go sit at a table and have the parade walk right by us---- the characters were close enough to react to our costumes and interact with us as they went by---- I was the fairy Godmother and DD was rags Cinderella and boy did the stepsisters and Lady Tremaine have a lot to say!!! Everyone around us was laughing. The desserts weren't great, but the drinks were pretty good. I didn't think it took a big chunk of time out of the party for us-- we had time to do every character meet and all the treat trails during the party.

We would do it again. You definitely could find a spot along the 2nd parade route without it--- but having a chair to sit in and a spot where the characters were really close was really nice.

Last year, Mickey and Minnie were down by the WOC viewing area. Their line could get really long. Donald and Goofy were on one of the main paths going towards that direction- they were the other ones where the line got long. There were lots of characters by Carthay Circle Fountain rotating--- Stepsisters, Cinderella, Pain and Panic from Hercules, Hades and Megara. Prince John, and Little John had a spot and I think they were alternating with Captain Hook and Smee if I remember right. Zombie Captain America was in Avengers Campus. Ian was out at Pixar Pier.

Hello all,

I will update the first pages to include dinning options. But wine country is also offering a OBB parade viewing package. This one you can eat anytime between 12-3 if you have a ticket that day or 3-6 if you only have OBB. You can request the parade viewing package from your server.

I booked this. Not sure I will keep it, but I booked for 3:15. I figure it might be a good use of that pre time. Get a meal and have a parade spot pre booked! But I'll will for sure watch reviews. Last year this package came with a popcorn bucket for the kids...

A week out from the start of Halloween and a week and a half til the first party...

Thank You for posting this. I went ahead and grabbed a table. I’ll wait for reviews after the party starts to see if we’ll keep it.

I made a reservation, but then I saw this:

  • The viewing area is standing only, with accommodations for Guests with disabilities.

Yes-- last year for the Wine Country Parade dining package- you ate at the restaurant and got access later to a taped off standing section across from Avenger's Campus. There are no tables and no chairs for watching the parade. Also you got to reserve either the early or late parade at your meal, but it was first come first served so if your dining reservation was later, you might only get the later parade as your choice. Depending on how many people do the package that day, it might be 2 or 3 rows deep of people.

We picked the dessert party for the table and chairs. If I remember right, the reviews for Wine Country dining, were that if you wanted to eat there anyway without considering the parade it wasn't a bad deal because sometimes the area wasn't crowded at all and was a good spot.... but sometimes it was crowded and not great so you didn't know what you were going to get. But if you didn't plan to eat there outside of the package, you could easily find a parade spot anyway-- especially for the later parade--- so it wasn't necessary and might be a waste of money as you wouldn't know how crowded the area was going to be until you got there.

So the differences are Wine Country is cheaper, but you only get a pass to go stand in a certain spot and depending on your reservation time, you may only get the later parade, but the Dessert Party when you reserve you will pick which parade to attend and you get a chair and table.

Just saw a video and it looks like mother gothel will be where the evil queen was last year (that’s what was speculated based off the backdrop). Also new villain where dr fallicer was last year. It’s kind of giving me hades vibes a little bit with the Greek like scroll design on the edges. Looks like a lot of new character tray trails this year. I’m hoping maleficent is back. I still can’t believe we don’t have any announcements. I would think they would 100% be making announcements of treat trails and food this week since first party is next week.

Thanks for the information. We won’t do this then. I like a curbside seat for the parade. I’m willing to wait or we’ll do the second parade!

About dang time!

Quick glance -- I'm here for that Halloween rocky road sundae thing at Gibson Girl, gimme! Holy moly that Donald popcorn bucket sipper though!! 😍 Why does it say the zero bucket is new though, is it different than the one from a few years back?

Not much of the savory stuff is grabbing my attention but I'm always happy to try a new cookie..or two.
