First time staying at the Polynesian next year. Put in a request on the phone for tokelau rooms 3915 or 3914 🤞. Does anyone know if there are 2 queen beds there? If not where is a good spot to request that would have that. Party of 4 adults
Thanks

Depends on your room type. Tokelau consists only of DVC studios- so unless you booked a studio villa you won’t be in Tokelau (which is a queen bed and a Murphy bed plus a single under the TV.)

For similar views/ location perhaps Samoa or Niue? Tokelau, Moorea and Pago Pago are all villas.

Booked Polynesian resort not villa

If you booked for 4 adults on the resort side, you will be given a room with 2 queen beds. What are you looking for in a room? Location? View? What room category did you book? That would help determine your longhouse requests.

A party of 4 on the resort side would automatically get a room with 2 queen beds.
ETA: Unless you're theme park view, I'm not sure I'd want to be in Tuvalu with the construction on that side of the resort.

Yea, I wouldn't want to stay there at all with the construction. My Grand Floridian construction room was the worst hotel experience I've had. Poly2 is a massive new building, and it's not far at all from the Poly cash rooms. It could be really, really loud.

Booked standard view in resort not villa. Called up and put in request for tokelau 3914 or 3915 as I have read good views from their. The rep didn’t say it wasn’t possible. We do need 2 queen beds. Just don’t want to be near the construction Or have a parking lot view.

“Almost a quarter of all DVC room requests at the Polynesian are for one room. That’s crazy! Room 3914 has 1,411 requests all by itself. The runner-up has 365 requests, and it’s room 3915 – right across the hall. Goodness, even I’ve requested room 3914 (I didn’t get anywhere close … but it was worth a shot). So what’s the deal with these rooms?…”

You must have watched the TP video! But again, as a previous poster said, you did not book a DVC studio, so you would not get that building as there are no regular hotel rooms in Tokelau. Plus the bedding is not 2 queens. The people on the phone who take the requests really don't always have specific resort knowledge. They will add whatever request you want, even it if is not likely to happen. Go back and check the TP room finder and put in standard view room. It will show what buildings and rooms are in your category, that way you will have a more realistic expectation and more likely to get a room in the category you booked in a location you may like. You may want to consider upgrading your room category if you don't want a parking lot view, because that is what a standard view can be.

We have stayed in 3911. These rooms (high floor, north end of Tokelau) are popular because you have a view of the lagoon and the Grand Floridian. Basically, Lake View at Standard view point value. This is the view.

I just got back from a vacation at the Poly and we stayed in the Tuvalu building. We weren't negatively affected by any construction, however, our stay was very short. The room we had faced the lagoon and it had 2 queen beds and a pull out couch.

Poly2 is scheduled to open late 2024, it's not right now I would be worried about. This is a long term project, and construction just started to be visible.

Nice!

Another good room is 3948 with view down to Oasis Pool and hot tub and castle off to the right (it’s far away), plus elevator was so close but we never heard anything from that area in our room. Great choices for standard deluxe.

Third floor Tokelau start with 39xx. Room in red is 3948. Staircase right there to run down to pool, though those elevators in the middle are just as quick usually.

Again, Tokelau is DVC. You will not get a room here. Better change your request.

OP is on the resort side, not the DVC/Villas side.

Best standard view hotel-side rooms are going to be in Raratonga - closest to monorail, close to grand ceremonial house, close to both pools. You will either have landscaping views or a "parking lot" view but the lot is mostly blocked by the landscaping and the monorail (Which is fun to watch) so I wouldn't worry about that. If you want a theme park or water view, you will need to book a different category. They won't give you a theme park view or water view if you booked a standard view.

I agree with FeliciaB23 - OP, I would call back and request Raratonga. It's such a great location - right next to the GCH and near the TTC path as well. It will also keep you on the side of the resort that will not be near the construction. We like 3rd floor, facing the pool, away from the elevator. Requesting Tokelua isn't going to help the room assigner as you did not book a Poly villa, plus the studios there only have 1 queen and a sofa bed.

I agree to request Rarotonga. We stayed there in a higher floor room facing the pool. It’s close to the buses, the main building, the pool, the walking path to TTC and laundry room.

I booked a deluxe studio at the Poly and the room request options were Moorea and Tokelau. I’m not sure about room request. I paid $900+ per night and I’m not DVC. We are going Christmas/New Years week
