Anyone else crashing Ticketmaster, waiting for Taylor Swift tickets?

This whole thread is hilarious, BTW. This is why she is so successful - the cult that follows her every move. Today was a fairytale, today was a fairytale, today was a fairytale.., If the girl wasn't blonde and skinny, would she be so successful? We know autotune is her best friend;)
What an obnoxious post. You have zero idea what I like about her music, but I can guarantee it’s not because she’s blonde, white or skinny .
Look I have no problem saying that someone doesn’t like her music .. but that accusation is gross and insulting.

What I find hilarious is the people who come into a thread that was literally posted for people who were trying to get tickets for themselves and their kids to give their unasked for opinions on the artist, her love life, her psyche, her talent, and now the accusation that we’re only fans because she’s blonde and skinny .

I'm wondering if one of her concerts will be filmed to be put on Disney+. Folklore is already on there (not as a concert) and they've done other artists concerts and with such high demand it might draw in subscribers.

I don't find her to be seriously talented at all. In fact, if she wasn't such a naive girl entering that class of people with her dating at her very young adult age, she wouldn't have a career. I think she should be paying John Mayer royalties from many of her songs, LOL.

Always find it interesting how people dismiss a successful, talented female as only being successful because of who she dated or what she looks like instead of maybe acknowledging that she may have actually worked to get where she is and maybe has some talent (for her I think it’s songwriting more than singing).

I find writing songs about ex lovers shallow and not very talented. I didn't say anything about her success, she has been overwhelmingly successful. But I listen to music that has meaning behind it and masterful lyrics to convey that meaning and music that conveys it as much as the lyrics do. Music that you don't really understand just listening to a song but by studying and listening to the music as a whole. Whoahing about ex lovers doesn't ping up the talent meter for me.

For my DDs she was someone they could safely listen to and admire and sing along with (nothing too controversial with her for preteen eyes and ears). And she does have songs not about ex-boyfriends.

And as blonde curly girls, they loved seeing someone like them, at at time when it seemed everyone was wearing their hair straight. (She does now, but my girls are more confident in their curls now anyway. You know how middle school is and how all the movies "make over" the heroine by straightening their hair and taking off their glasses...)

So anyway, they have loved her since childhood and seeing her in concert is really going to be sentimental for them.

I certainly don't think she's successful because of who she has dated - I think she's successful becuase she's a shark - shrewd and ruthless. She knows what she wants and will take it - and she has. I'm certainly not much of a fan of her music, but her success is definitely all hers.

Well, not all her songs are about ex lovers. She has several ranging from pediatric cancer to losing a parent to miscarriages. Of course love and loss is what a lot of songs in general are about—it’s a pretty big deal for a lot of people. What you find meaningful and masterful lyrics someone else may find as crap. And what you may see as a simple song about an ex-lover that is shallow to you someone else may find other meaning behind—maybe they see leaving a situation that is unhealthy for them or seeing their own self worth finally. That’s the beauty of music—it’s art and everyone’s interpretation is different. My husband loves The Beatles, and I appreciate the songs (mostly when Paul writes), but it’s not my favorite. He has more of a connection to out of it and that’s awesome.

And that’s fine to think that. Someone else posted that if she weren’t blond and skinny that she wouldn’t be successful.

I was able to get through the capital one line for Tampa tickets in an hour and a 1/2 I needed 5 but couldn’t find any 5 tickets together but I was able to get 4 tickets. They are good seats in the lower bowl, not cheap and part of some package that I need to figure out what’s included.
Now I'm curious...what was in your package :)

There is some truth to the statement that Meatloaf would have never made it big in the MTV era.

There is zero truth as to whether I or my children are Taylor Swift fans because she is “blonde, skinny, and white“ . None.

And plenty of non traditionally attractive males were popular in the MTV era.

On the subject of Ticketmaster …
if they really wanted to stop all the speculating and scalping why not just shut down the resale market? Make the tickets non transferable, period. If you can’t go, you get a credit for another show sometime. Disney does it.
I realize this is a pointless question because ticketmaster makes big money off the resale market so they don’t want to stop it. But it would be nice to see them forced.

The best way to shut down the resale market is for the artists not to underprice their tickets to begin with. Tickets should always be sold with variable pricing where demand and supply are balanced.

I agree I love a good song with meaningful lyrics. Live is one of my favorite bands with such meaningful songwriting. However sometimes it nice just to listen to something that fun and silly. Take sir mix a lot and baby got back- all these years later I still know most of the words! The lounge singer version is amazing too! Good lyrics can be sung and translated to many different music genres, jazz, acoustic etc and still be great listening.

That's like...the entire genre of music from country to punk rock, to alternative rock to pop, rap, hip hop, etc. I mean country is basically beer, fishing, country girls mixed in with cheating men and getting back at them sooo yeah.

Hello anyone heard of "Every Breath You Take"??

I think Taylor Swift gets more notice out of it because she has released songs more back to back but she is far from the only one.

Supposed music snobs are strong in these thread I see.
