That would be a nice twist on hiding ducksOn a Disney cruise shouldn't it be a mouse that's hidden anyway?

Actually I shared a cruise together with you a while back where I found my first Duck. I turned it into guest relations lost and found. I was concerned some child could possibly have a deep attachments and miss his/her toy. The CM said “I think I know what this is.” Which at the time I thought was a very strange comment for a child’s rubber duck having been found on deck.Never heard of that. No idea.
Kinda think that’s not possible to even reach. Lol. If someone was going to toss something in the gears it probably wasn’t going to be a duck."This is your Captain speaking: The ship is sinking. Unfortunately, we cannot lower the lifeboats because there is a plastic duck jamming the mechanism. "
Isn't there something else people could do without jeopardizing the safety of others?

I absolutely agree with you they should absolutely not become landfill! Please stop bringing this onboard. The majority of the ducks end up in the waste stream onboard. Due to the blend of materials waste management company can't recycle. Each ship ends up burning this in the incinerator or they are dumped in a landfill.

Nope. Not me. I haven't been on a Disney ship since 2004.5/8/2022 Magic Transatlantic

That’s okay, we talked briefly at D-lounge at one of these but I can’t remember which one. I think it was more likely to be 2014, 2016, or 2018 though. I can’t remember what we even talked about. I’m sure several of us crossed paths here and don’t even realize it. Especially now that the Meet & Greet thread has gotten so bare over the last 10 years.
Finding them is the fun part.Instead of hiding ducks why not just hand them to kids so they know what they are for? CMs and random people who don't know what they are are likely to throw them away.
Everything creates waste. You buy a candy bar the wrapper is waste, drink a soft drink now you have a plastic bottle or can as waste oh and go on a cruise and look at all that waste. These ducks, like painted rocks, are trash. The places you leave them eventually have to dispose of them. People don’t think of that. They think it’s fun but it’s creating waste.

I'm nearly 100% certain they wouldn't be hidden in the lifeboat mechanisms.
Yes. Hiding small toys on a cruise ship is exactly like using explosives during an historic drought for stupid social media clout.I'm sure the couple was 100% sure that their gender reveal party was not going to start a wildfire. They are now charged with 30 crimes and the death of a firefighter.
