Favorite less expensive spot to eat?

We have a pretty big trip planned. 10 park days, 14 days on site... there will be 6 of us. We plan on trying to do some table service reservations (our 60 day mark is 4/4). However, we'd like to try to not go crazy on meals otherwise. We obviously will have a hefty food bill for 6 people, at DW for that many days. Just looking for ways and places to not spend quite as much on those non-reservation times.

We will be staying at POFQ. So, we already know that there isn't a big fridge option (though, we will have two rooms to use both little fridges).

I'd love to know what everyone's favorite places are for cheaper options are.

Thanks for any advice and suggestions!

Unfortunately, at WDW, I don't know any "less expensive" options. However, I do have a couple tips-

#1-if you go for a late breakfast and an early dinner, you only have 2 meals a day. And I find some TS breakfasts aren't too expensive-I liked Trattorio Forno (without characters), Ale and Compass, and Grand Floridian Cafe.

#2-Sometimes an adult can eat a child's meal. And with mobile order at CS, there's no problem with age. I like the offerings at Satuli Canteen.

Here are some of our favorites. Not sure the makeup of your party but splitting meals or doing QS kids meals are great options as well. 2 fridges will hold a decent amount of food. We get breakfast stuff and sandwich stuff. We like to take mid-day breaks so we will sometimes just have a light lunch in our room.

Satuli Canteen
Columbia harbor house
Pecos bills
Yorkshire fish shop
Olivia’s brunch at OKW (use the DS boat)
Abc commissary
Ronto wraps- Breakfast and regular

My favorite thing to do at Tusker House is book a late breakfast (like 10:30ish) for a rope drop morning, those time slots are around the time we start needing a break anyway and the nice thing is you will catch them switching over to lunch during your meal. So you basically have brunch, and at the lower breakfast pricing. You can try this at most character buffets.

Yeah, we know nothing is really cheap, but these suggestions like this are exactly what we are looking for! Thanks!

We also figure since it will be June, we will not want big, heavy meals.

We definitely were thinking utilizing Disney Springs would be a great option!

I stayed at POFQ in 2019 and quite honestly ate at Disney Springs more than the resort. Hopefully you should have better luck with the boats than I did (I went in August, so prime storm season).

One way I like to make TS meals "less expensive" is by sharing and app and entree or doing DIY family style where me and my travel companions split a handful of items. This is generally hard with soups lol but works with most food items. Also, I still find most QS entree options to be more than enough food. More often than not I will mobile order a kids meal instead of an adult meal (and you get a little water with it which is nice). I will even share snacks at the Epcot food booths so we can sample more and not fill up as quickly. A bonus is you also end up with less food waste!

Thank you! We were thinking mid day resort breaks, especially since we have so many days. We are - my husband, me, our 22 year old daughter, her 22 year old boyfriend, our 15 year old daughter and our 12 year old daughter.

Kid's meals are very filling for adults and kids (adults can order kid's meals @ QS).
The pizza at Via Napoli as a previous poster noted. Sharing meals at table service restaurants are an option. I know the portions at Mama Melrose are big and you can order an appetizer or two to supplement but they do have a bread service. I suggest the Margherita pizza/flatbread.
We order the Ribeye at LeCellier but add two sides for 3/4 people.
We usually eat breakfast in the room and all other meals out and there is no sharing at buffets or prix fix dining but my husband and I can not eat large meals in one sitting.

Our faves are :
Mama Melrose, Satuli Canteen, sharing a waffle from Sleepy Hollow, sharing a Cinnamon roll from Gastons, Pecos Bills, Casey's, Dockside Diner, Baseline charcuterie, pizzaa planet kid's meal, woody's lunch box grilled cheese and soup, San Angel Inn, Regal Eagle, LeCellier, Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie, yak & yet QS, Flame Tree BBQ,The Mara @ AKL, Bar Riva @Riviera, Mr. Kamal's, Sanaa@AKV, Grand Floridian cafe, Ale & Compass-these are a few that we have been to more than twice because we really liked them.

If you have time, the resorts all have good food choices-some may be limited but imo there is at least one decent place to eat at every resort I have stayed or visited.

Nomad lounge has a shareable bread service and charcuterie that is good and the drinks are good :)

If you have some time to explore other resorts, we really enjoy P&J's Southern Takeout at Ft. W. They have family meals that are huge (feed 2 - 4, but 2 of us can never finish it) and quite delicious, IMHO. You could probably purchase 2 of those for your entire family for less than $60. Perhaps consider this on MK day when you can take the boat over or make a day of it and do some activities at Ft. W (visit the stables, carriage ride, kayak/canoe/bike rentals, etc.)

There have been many great opinions on restaurants/locations for lesser expensive meals. Since your 60 day mark is 4/4, that means you're going in early June. Maybe not quite as hot as July or August but still will be plenty hot.

In the summer at WDW, we don't want to eat as much because of the heat. A small breakfast in the room, big lunch around 1-2 (can be QS or TS) and then a snack or two in the evening is typically enough food for the day.

If going to Disney Springs, I find Polite Pig to be very reasonable.
