Pretty good for Aulani...but somewhat stressful with the whole no notary, no Board of Conveyances thing.

Question: I’m working on purchasing a resale contract. It’s now been more than 3 weeks since closing docs were sent out, and one of the sellers still hasn’t signed. When I email for updates, the answer is basically, “Still waiting on the signature.” Has anyone experienced this before? At what point do I start asking about when the agreement falls through?

that date should be listed on the contract under closing date.

I gotta say how much I loathe the process of wiring money (especially as an international buyer).

We wired our money today via a major Canadian bank and the whole process was frustrating. They initially pushed for me to try a different method as they do very little wiring of funds and said they are often rejected blah blah blah etc.. This bank has a manual approval process from managers before beginning the wire process which took some additional time. The bank teller (who was experienced in the position) struggled with understanding how the process goes and what numbers/instructions lineup with their own system. They weren't even able to add a note or memo referencing file/contract number. Eventually the got it sent and the account number and banks look correct so I'm hopeful. Took a lot of time which I really wasn't expecting.

Wire transfers seem to be so rare up here finding a bank agent with any experience might be tough. There has to be an easier more efficient method of transferring funds.

I'm Canadian - I'm planning to use Knightsbridge FX, but even this involves a bit of a process as I have to wire Canadian funds in (there are a couple other options but wiring seems simplest) - however, then they will convert the funds to USD and they can wire the USD funds out without further fees.

Just a big THANK YOU to everyone for posting the links!! It has made the life of mods much easier! It was brought to our attention that some of the title companies are small and actually don't have website links.

If this is the case, then you may just post the name.. For brokers, the rule still applies that a link is required and if it is not there, the post will be deleted...which means, your hard work goes to waste!!!

I know that some posters are new and can't post links yet...just leave blank and come back and add them when you can!

I'm dying over here waiting for those Disney emails. We recorded 15 days ago and I've been seeing 13-14 days on a handful. Anxiously waiting to book an October trip!
I’m anxiously waiting!!! We recorded last Thursday 4/20 so i know i have a little longer but it’s a terrible wait 😂😂

For all saying that they called in for points to be loaded to account… can anyone explain what that means? Do your points not load automatically?

Finally have an update, title company said we are scheduled to close tomorrow after receiving seller docs today:

I just logged into the website for My Disney Experience and then used the Chat feature on the side to ask if they'd be able to check about my points loading. If you don't ask it's about a week or so before someone gets to your contract in the queue, but the person on Chat is probably able to help you do it immediately.

Ours ended up being about 16 days I think after the deed was recorded. I got our emails on a Saturday evening, so they're working every day on it, so it seems.

When you buy your first contract, those points have to be loaded manually by a DVC CM into your newly-created membership. After that, points will automatically appear in that membership each year that you continue to own that contract.
