The Official VILLAS at DISNEYLAND HOTEL (Discovery Tower) Owners and Fans Info Thread

Is it just me, or did the light-up Tinkerbell accent in all the renderings not make it into the final build? The one on the far right side of the front facade.

Is the public allowed to tour the DVC tower lobby on the 28th? Can anyone tour the rooms? Or are they limiting it to people that are booked?

Not sure about the lobby but they took reservations for the tours of the rooms for the first weekend already (all booked) but that actually starts the 29th. I was told you can book tours with your guide if you didn’t get one of the slots. I’m am excited but also expectation chaos tomorrow! Woo hoooo!!

So I’m regretting booking OBB for tomorrow night. I just asked MS at the lounge and she said as of right now the rooms are most likely going to be ready at 4pm. That’s not leaving a lot of time to explore. I hope this is just business verbiage and the rooms and grounds will be ready way before then! 🤞🏻

I'm sure it's been posted somewhere in this thread, but has anyone figured out what the Preferred View is for studios? I mean, it doesn't matter a whole lot to me as I'm a local and have seen it all, LOL, but just curious.
Gonna cross-post for @DonMacGregor, who put this in the VGC thread.

Disney's descriptions:
  • Standard View
    • Views of Gardens, Street or Parking Area
  • Preferred View
    • Views of Pool

Based on the descriptions, it's likely any view of either pool counts as Preferred. Considering there's pool to the east (Monorail Pool) and 'in' the L shape (Palette Pool), it's likely the majority of rooms are Preferred. This is reinforced by all 1BR/2BR being classified as Preferred, while being in multiple locations.

Based on that, here's my guess for which rooms are Preferred (blue) and Standard (maroon):

I would think higher floors in the back are mostly going to look out onto the street/Anaheim and sold thus be standard.

Thanks! We'll find out what preferred means in about 10 days.

I'm not so sure. All 2BR are "Preferred View", and they go up to the top floor and include units that will be facing the street. I think it would be a bit odd to have a 2BR "Preferred View" with a nearly identical view as a neighboring "Standard View" Studio (especially when SV is lower points and DVC could sell more points by classifying them PV).

For reference, here's the top floor, top left 2BR (blue) faces the street:

I am very curious about the studios at the very bottom/southern tip of this floor plan. On lower floors they'd logically be a Standard View, but on the top floor maybe Preferred View? Lotta roof view though, and no pool view, so probably SV.

I have a standard view studio in November and a preferred view in January reserved for me. Do we know if any of the standard studios have balconies?

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong (and guess we’ll find out in 24h) but only 1bdrm, 2brdm, grand villas and hopefully some of the duos have balconies. On blueprints it didn’t look like any of the deluxe studios other than garden view have them.

I am not sure at all, you're likely right, I was just saying how I think it should be. I think lots of people will be requesting a view of the monorail pool!

It will be interesting as many of the rooms (well, likely all rooms above the 3rd or 4th floor on the back side, IE everything facing Walnut), will have both a pool view AND a street view...
