I'm thinking that once we enter the park, the expiration will reset to one year from the day we first enter.

That is correct. As mentioned previously, you currently have an AP voucher which allows for you to activate it within 1-year from the date of purchase (the Oct. 12, 2024 date). Once you activate the AP (first park entry), that expiration date will adjust to 1-year from first use.

So, if I go to the "Tickets and Passes" section of MDE, there is no expiration date shown. However, if I scroll down to "My Profile" and go to the "Memberships & Passes" section, it has "Walt Disney World Annual Passholder" for each member and underneath it says "Expires: October 12, 2024" which is exactly one year after the purchase date. I'm thinking that once we enter the park, the expiration will reset to one year from the day we first enter.
I just checked and mine shows the same. I didn't go that deeply into MDE to see it at first. I'll be going to the parks next month, so we will see.

So we are doing a resort stay late December. We are AP holders but sorcer pass so the dates are blocked. We want to do one day in Epcot for festival of the holidays on December 23rd. Ticket price is a whopping $189 each for one day at Epcot! Should I just bite the bullet and buy them now? We are Florida resident, AP, and DVC but no discounts obviously due to the date. Anyone have any ideas on a less expensive ticket?

Unaware of any ticket deal, $400 is a pretty big bullet. I suppose the price could increase further?

It was more like $170, but we bit the bullet and bought a one day ticket to MK for December 30. We too have Sorcerers Pass, and briefly gave thought to upgrading and then go into parks the three nights we are there, but decided that was too much extra.

We looked at the same thing. Not worth it for us either

WDW has limited ways to hit the parks during those very busy times without paying big money. Dec 23 is our last day and 5 day hoppers cost a whopping $802 for that trip. Guess I’m lucky it only went up $1 with the recent round of price hikes. There’s really no way around the pricing. Same thing happened to us in March. 2 day non-hopper was $330.

Military Ticket Question

My Dad was in the Air Force from 1963-1972.
He and my mom are going to Disney with us this year.

Is he eligible to purchase and use the military tickets for him and my mom?
I am not sure if he even has any military ID of any kind.

If he is eligible, how would he purchase?

And I keep seeing people say they check for ID at the gates, is that a Drivers license or a military ID.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

How do the theme park tickets with the waterpark option work? Stay would be 7 nights. Husband and son are doing 2 theme park day tickets and me and my daughter are doing 3 theme park day tickets. Can we use the waterpark tickets whenever we want during our stay? Is there a limit to use?

The Waterparks & Sports option provides as many "plus" entries (waterparks, mini-golf before 4pm, foot-golf, Oak Trail 9-holes) as you have "days" for a theme park. You can use them on same day or different days; just as long as used within the stated ticket use window.

For example:
a 3-day theme parks + waterparks/sports ticket includes:
  • 3 theme park days. Enter anytime during the day (if prior to Jan. 9th you need a theme park reservation). You didn't mention the park-hopper but that would allow ability to "hop" to another theme park after 2pm if desired.
  • 3 "plus" entries for waterparks and sports (waterpark, mini-golf, foot-golf, Oak Trail 9-hole). These are completely separate from the theme park entries. They may be used on the same dates (got to a waterpark in the AM then a theme park in the PM) or on completely different days as long as it falls into the ticket validity window
A 3-day ticket is valid for a 5-day window. So you could do 3 theme park days and 2 days at waterparks plus one additional option -- maybe mini-golf on the same day (before 4pm) as a waterpark. Note that a 2-day ticket only has a 4-day use window. Tickets with more theme park days are valid for longer windows.

So with that 3-day ticket you might do:
Day 1: theme park
Day 2: waterpark + mini-golf (very easy to do with Blizzard Beach and Winter/Summerland)
Day 3: theme park
Day 4: waterpark or foot-golf
Day 5: theme park

2 other things. @lanejudy can you please confirm:

1. If purchasing tickets with a package, all guests need to purchase the same tickets so in OP case 2 day tickets then mom and daughter can upgrade to 3 day tickets once there noting that if a price increase has taken place, this will need to be paid too.

2. (This is the part I'm not positive about so @lanejudy, please correct me if I am wrong). A 2 day ticket is valid for 4 consecutive days. A 3 day ticket is valid for 5 consecutive days. Meaning, even though OP will be there for 7 days, their tickets cannot be stretched over the full 7 days or, is this incorrect with a resort reservation?

Good question! If tickets are purchased as part of a package, correct that everyone must have the same ticket (# of days, PH and/or Waterparks option). Also if purchased as part of a package with an onsite WDW resort - the ticket is valid for the length of stay or the length of ticket, whichever is longer. So the 3-day plus waterparks ticket could almost stretch.

Tickets purchase separate from a package, or tickets with an off-site hotel stay (or on-site split stay) have the standard valid use window based on length of ticket plus start date.

Our trip is Sat-Sat we book our room through our points so the tickets are separate but we are staying on property. My daughter and I are doing Disney Parks *most likely* Sun Tues Thurs. My son and husband Tues and Thurs. Hoping to do water parks for a few hours Wed and Fri. But maybe we'd only be able to use the water parks Wed? Or maybe switch Sunday park tickets to Monday?

Unfortunately the length-of-stay extension is only for package tickets so you need to adjust either the first theme park day or the last waterpark day if you are only buying a 3-day ticket. A 4-day ticket will be valid longer (a full 7 days) but it does cost that much more which may not be worth it just to get the extended time for a waterpark. You'd need to crunch the numbers on ticket prices. The extra day on your ticket would give you the option to pop into Epcot or another park for dinner one night, as well as an extra "sports" option to maybe do mini-golf (you and DD).

Otherwise:
  • A 3-day ticket valid Sun. thru Thur. that hits your 3 theme park days; the waterparks can be on Monday and Wednesday. AND 1 more "plus" entry.
  • OR a 3-day ticket valid Mon. thru Fri. to hit your preferred waterpark days and adjust the first theme park day. AND 1 more "plus" entry. (Note: you may find ticket prices lower with a Monday start, it depends on your dates.)
  • A 2-day ticket starting on the Tuesday will work for your DH and DS. They would not have any extra "plus" entry like you and DD have.

I think I have it worked out with our other extenuating circumstances. We'll do park days Mon Tues and Fri and waterpark days Wed and thurs. That will cover the different windows. I was hoping to end the trip with a lazy river but we"ll end in Canada in Epcot instead lol Thanks for all the input!

Hello,
I have an old park hopper ticket with no expiration and 3 days left on it (it was 5 days originally). I also have a 3 day park hopper I purchased with specific dates (before the most recent price hike) that has not been used yet. I would like to add a 4th day to either one of these tickets. I was wondering which ticket I should upgrade and the how the upgrades work currently. In the past, if I recall, Disney would use the current gate value for the used ticket and then charge the difference for the additional day. When I check the cost of 3 day hopper for the dates I am going to be in the parks, it is about $551 while a 4 day is $698. Is this the correct calculation? Or, since this ticket was originally a 5 day hopper, would Disney value it based on the current price of a 5 day hopper and then charge the difference compared to a 6 day hopper? Going from 3 days to 4 days is a much larger difference than 5 days to 6 days. How would the unused ticket work?
Thanks in advance for your advice!

The old no-expire ticket can't be upgraded.
