Something About Nothing............ #14

Been checking what eateries will be open for Christmas day in our town and found 3.

Glad I got this task done as I am not cooking just for the Mr and me.

We have the choice of the hamburger joint, chicken local joint or Arby’s.

I am leaning to the fast food place.

Do you have a Waffle House nearby? They’re always open. I need to find out what will be open Christmas Eve. That’s dh’s birthday.

Good dent made in that gift list today. Grabbed a large turkey for Xmas Togo with thr to be secured ham. Probably make another turkey breast jik

ToMoorow being held to making ‘big’ late breakfast (their words, not mine lol) for 2 of my DS.

Then off to do first big holiday grocery order. Hoping to find phyllo dough, need to make my baklava Couldn’t find pre thAnksgiving for some reason

I think another one anytime soon would do me in TBH

My car insisted it was 47 degrees, felt colder. Was sunny at least!

That’s the understatement of the week lol

Ow, good luck. I asked for a new heating pad for Xmas (the glamorous life & all). It’s made to go over shoulders & neck & all the way below tail bone.

Good for you! I wear the pants/leggings, probably should take a class

My mr has never eaten a sloppy joe. He doesn’t know what he’s missing. That sounds Like a great idea for a busy evening such as Xmas Eve to me.

I’m trying to figure out how to get out of doing the feast of the fishies that night

I love turkey! I always laugh when folks say turkey is dry......heck, cook it properly and it won`t be dry!!! Never had a dry trukey in my life.

I`m not a fan of Sloppy Joe`s either, Tom would eat one though.

I like the sound of the heating pad!! Right now an electric blanket sounds good, I still can`t get warm despite the house being hotter than Hades according to anyone who has popped in last few days!

We`ve never been to an Arby`s before, not sure why......?? I`d opt for your bbq place, food always sounds so lovely.

Quick post before I go to bed. Nothing new to report here.

We still haven’t put ours up yet. We were going to do it this week but decided it would be a bad idea to leave a bored Caspian home with it for 3 days. I don’t want the sitter to have to deal with the potential mess.

Same here. I don’t like driving at night or in the rain. Put them both together and I really hate it. Oddly enough, today I read a news story that a study is being done about how to improve that intersection.

Thanks. Thankfully I can use B’s car while mine is in the shop. My insurance also covers a rental car if I should need it.

Glad you are feeling better. Sounds like you got some good stuff. That reminds me of when Tylenol PM first came out. The directions said to take 2, so I did. I had trouble waking up in the morning. Mow if I ever have to take something designed to make me drowsy I will only take one.

Sorry to hear that. Hope the pre- holidays won’t be too stressful for you.

Hopefully it won’t be too long. I’m thankful that we have an extra car to use.

Hope you are feeling better. Dh swears by his chiropractor, but I have never been to one.

We have managed to misplace a 9 foot lighted garland.

Congrats to her. I am terrible at the shooting games.

Wow. I’m not particularly fond of them, but dh loves them. We once ate at Sloppy Joe’s in Key West.

Great picture.

Time for me to get some sleep. Good night all.

We love the restaurant called Sloppy Joe`s in Orlando, same as the one in Key West apparently, everything is very fresh.

Yes, doesn`t take much to knock me out medicinally....sometimes though the body just needs to sleep.

It is freezing today, but not actually freezing, such a cold wind out there and a little sleety, so we went out early, met some friends for mid morning tea in one of the seaside cafe`s still open and then into the village to the deli....then home!!

House is apparently too hot, but for me it`s just nice.

Spicy cajun chicken strips in a wrap for lunch with some coleslaw and lots of tea, will be making fresh pots all day I think. Making a bacon, leek and mushroom quiche for dinner tonight one of Tom`s favourite meals, doesn`t take long to whip it up as long as the pastry works first time.

Some more Christmas cards to write, few more things to order and I might be done by Friday, hopefully.

Hope your Wednesday is a good one....... :santa:

The holidays sure are coming. We had a great night at the Party. Who knew that 59 degrees would feel so cool by the time we left at midnight. Little one even turned up our thermostat to 78 when we got back to the room.

At a Wednesday, that mid week reminder, and who do I see?

IMG_2888.jpeg

Ah, camel in the mood too, happy seasons, so yes hope are all happy this winter holiday season. And let’s get over this hump of a day feeling of mid week, and have that most Fabulous Friday be here a day later.

Some HS fun, a drink at a cantina, then dinner with some fish, and candle concert with Brendan Fraser narrator. May stay for that new show at park close is our plan this Wednesday.

Overcast skies most of our stay now. But no rain until Saturday morning with what my phone weather app says is at a 60 percent chance. But at least predicted dry here and all along the eastern coast by the noon hour. Thus, we have those rain coats and wet okay sneakers for our last day of fun, if it does rain some in the morning then. So hoping a mostly dry day, and a quick, on time evening flight that day.

Hope all have a Most Wonderful Wednesday. Yep, less than 20 days left of our Month and Year today. Wow has this year gone by so fast.

We didn't want to cook last year, so we ordered from this BBQ chain that offered family Christmas meals. I think we had to reheat it, but I don't mind sticking a plate in the microwave or even just shoving something in the oven if that is all I have to do. It was one of the best decisions. We had brisket and a bunch of sides, can't remember exactly which ones (baked beans, green beans, potato salad, etc). It was a great decision, and we were able to eat off of it for multiple meals.

Still cold and a little miserable today, but it`s been nice and cosy inside.

All my Christmas cards have now been written, will get them all posted tomorrow, including the American ones, I`m late with them. But, I think the last of my presents have been ordered, including a few little surprises for my lovely husband, nothing fancy, just cute. But, I did manage to wrap a fair few of them.

Ate too much of the quiche tonight, so I doubt we`ll need anything else tonight, going to watch another of our yearly Christmas movie choices....not sure which one.

Thirsty Thursday tomorrow....this week is flying past!! Christmas wine delivery coming on Friday.....wooohooo!!!

Drizzle started as we loaded up the work truck to come, yay.
Our front door has been fedex, ups, usps and Amazon central with gifts arriving.
Got everything up but our dachshund pulled santa sleigh.
Arby's is about the only fast food we eat other than fried chicken. Especially when they have the Hawaiian bread specials.
Hope everyone stays warm.

I like Arbys. That actually sounds good. We have one right by our house, but since I started gluten free, I'm basically limited to Chick-fil-A and Chipotle. I tried only the roast beef wrapped in lettuce once. I was not a fan.

I'm hoping they are going to tell me I can eat gluten again starting in January. Either way, I am eating gluten on my February trip. It was torture this last trip not being able to eat any of my favorites. Food is a big part of our enjoyment of Universal. I'll be good again if I have to after February.

Had a great time in HS, then sky road to Epcot, had a very nice three course meal from CR, then stood in a line, that went back to France, to see the CP with Brendan Fraser.

He was great, as were the singers and orchestra. Now sitting waiting for the new show we haven’t seen at Epcot before. Long day for us. Got coffee to help with the wait. Have a peanut butter attack from that Everglaze shop. Oh my. Will take me days to eat it.

Hope all are doing well, and better for Keisha, Tim and Schumi, and anyone else not feeling as well.

Hey y’all! Hope all are doing well (or recovering as case may be!).
Not sure last time I was on boards here: my UCF kid decided on a whim to apply for DCP -got her interview and acceptance within a week! She found out this week she will be custodial likely in Studios. She’s pretty excited-she will go from DCP back to her Lockheed Martin summer internship. She had to get a security clearance to continue working on her project. She’s home now for Christmas! Seattle kiddo will be home next week and will see DH oldest -our bonus daughter- and family week after Christmas. So excited to see newest grandbaby as she’s growing so fast!

Son made the district honor band-he’s also pretty excited about this as he plans on doing something with music as career.

Anyway we will be in Orlando in March to see middle kiddo-got a 1 bed villa at SSR with our timeshare unit, and back again in May for sons grad trip. Hubs is talking APs to Disney-and taking “some time off from Universal”. Um-not for me as I’ve got my UOAP lol!

And a pic of my tree (love love the pics of trees @Lynne G has shared!)

Congrats to all her kids from MonyK news. Great to hear from ya. Love the tree you have.

Back and ready to see some real animals tomorrow, then maybe mini golfing, then wherever we feel like going to park. At least that’s our Thursday plan as of tonight.

Quick hello before I have to leave for work. Today I will drop my car off at the body shop.

Got everything up but our dachshund pulled santa sleigh.
I have a friend who would love that. Dachshunds are her favorite dog.

Have a peanut butter attack from that Everglaze shop. Oh my. Will take me days to eat it.
Peanut butter attack? Tell me more.

Congrats to her. B really wants to do the DCP, but mossed the last deadline.

Another congratulations.

Gotta run. We are leaving this afternoon for Pigeon Forge.

Safe travels , Charade, and have a fantastic time in Pigeon Forge. That is a cake donut with peanut butter icing, topped with those small peanut butter chips, chopped up pieces of a Reese’s cup, with a Reese’s cup chopped in half. So a peanut butter attack. They are good tasting donuts even if a bit pricey.

Well so much for early entry, but she is moving. So we have that at least.

A little jealous, I was supposed to be going this weekend, but I've come down with something, bronchitis I think, so I'm stuck staying home. I don't want to risk getting everyone else sick. Plus, I kind of just want to sleep.

Is there anywhere in particular you are excited to visit? I always enjoy the Old Mill Cafe.

Gideons. Five chocolate cake slice. Let’s just say, a single layer is like a large serving of a regular slice of cake. And they still had their morning coffee cake cookie, and I’m saving it to go with my tea tomorrow morning. Delicious afternoon snack of the cake. Had a great safari and time at AK. Relaxing then maybe MK for few hours then either Epcot or HS for the evening.
