Booking window for Week 49 Sunday Dec 8, 2024 is fast approaching and I still have not gotten a call from Member Services to confirm booking. No call for my FW50 either.

I sent an email to MS just now. Should I call them as well? Is this normal? Thoughts appreciated.
I’d call especially if you haven’t used any of the points in the contract and the current UY points are intact. Doesn’t hurt to make sure its in place.

Mine was made on December 10th, I think. But I've never gotten a call, and never even got an email this year - it just showed up on my Dashboard on the website. I'm assuming that you checked there? If it's not there, then yes, I would definitely call them before the 11-month window opens up.

I did not receive a call for my FW - just got notified via email that my reservation was in place. It was also done approximately 12 months out and was visible on my Dashboard. If you don't see it, and all your points in the FW contracts are still intact, then contacting MS would be the way to go...
 
Disney don't reach out, they just automatically book the FW. They usually book it 12 months out for me but one time they cut it close.

Yes. I kept looking expecting it to pop up automatically at the 12-mo to 11-1/2 month point.

It is a little scary MS is this behind booking week 49 considering members can have check-in dates starting 12/4 and ending 12/11 which overlaps 3 days of week 49.

I never get a call.

Do you have a FW that is a RunDisney one? Otherwise I wouldn't expect them to call.
 
It is a little scary MS is this behind booking week 49 considering members can have check-in dates starting 12/4 and ending 12/11 which overlaps 3 days of week 49.

Scary for those without FW that is. They are legally required to allocate the room to the FW individual so the other person would get bumped.

That being said I suspect the inventory is held automatically its just MS has to manually go in and allocate the room to your name. Honestly I would actually like the change where they dont book your FW until at 11 months because it would give you more flexibility to try and get a different room.

Booking for my week 49 happened 1 month before the check in, Dec 8th, as it should. A couple of years ago I had to call when it hadn't shown up yet and was getting close like yours. It had been missed. Lesson learned - they can and do miss them. Normally you just get an email confirmation approx 12 months out from the check in. If you aren't seeing it then you need to call as you did. Glad you got it taken care of in time.
 
Last few years my FW 49 has been booked 12 months out. I have not needed to call in in a very long time. Got the email in Dec for my 2024 reservation. It is just the best purchase ever I have made with DVC.

All these outliers are interesting for me to hear. I thought it was programmed into the "DVC system" and it automatically makes the reservation. But it sounds like MS looks up a list and manually makes the reservations for FW's. If so, I wonder what would happen if they, indeed, flubbed and forgot to make the reservation...

It does seem to be more manual than one would hope but in the grand scheme of DVC the # of fixed weeks is also quite small so perhaps the felt getting a program in place to automatically book wasn't worth the expense. Not certain either what would happen if they didn't book it and it wasn't noticed by the member until after the 11 month window had passed. Typically these are room types that DVC will reserve and send to the cash side to be booked to cover trades etc so I know I would have insisted they pull one back - assuming it was there.

If I bank them, do you know pls will they also be used for the FW reservation? Or can I still use them separately?

I received my FW49 confirmation email on Dec 9, 2023. I think that there was only one year where either my FW41 or 49 reservation wasn't made until really close to the 11 month window; the first couple of dates may have been in 11 months + 7 days range? I had to chat or email with member services, and they took care of it.

@emchen maybe I am misremembering, but do you still have current UY allotment for 2023? If I remember correctly you got a Dec UY, took magical beginnings for 2022 UY points, and also rent/sold the 2023 UY points on your own? In that case MS wouldn't book anything this UY.

But the FW is in the December 2024 UY so those are the point that would be needed.
 
My FW49 has not been booked yet for 2024 either. I just called and they said it should show up in the next couple days, so we’ll see what happens!
