Amazing price, congrats!

But damn @AstroBlasters DVC is really singling you out😅 you must have picked the gold ticket *ahem* unit
Who knows… maybe it was because it had the full allotment of 2024 points… maybe they want larger contracts because of closing costs… I’m just happy to see that @Sprinkles&Sprints got their contract through and that they got it at a smoking price!

Thank you - much appreciated. It is my first contract and I had pretty much resigned myself to it not happening so this was certainly a pleasant surprise!

Nope. Because the seller always has the right to change their mind and the only damage the buyer would have is time.

Obviously one could try and sue the seller to enforce the contract but that is not going to be easy to do.

It sucks that sellers do not get penalized-- whereas if it was the buyer backing out the good faith deposit would be partially or completely taken. We were at the point in the process where final payment was ready to be sent.

Wow! That’s a great rate! Was it listed for that amount? If not what was it listed at, out of curiosity?
I think it was originally listed for $140-144 but based on recent historical sold data, CC 75pt contracts have been selling for ~$130

The seller still owes the broker commission so it does cost them. It’s just the buyer doesn’t get anything if a seller fails to close.

You make me and my little 50 Aulani points hide in shame. Maybe one day I’ll be able to add on another 50 but no rush when we are talking airfare for 5 lol
Glad to have you as a neighbor!

Airfare for 5 is no joke…. My wife and I signed up for 2 Alaska Air CCs so we could each get the companion fare for ourselves and one kid to Hawaii.

They have since put a minimum $3k annual spend per card to get the companion fare, but luckily we are grandfather in.

My Mom and Aunt also got the card for the early boarding and free checked luggage, but don’t use the companion fare every year as they travel alone. So that opens up another lower cost trip for us in some years.

With tickets in refundable economy going for $550 each round trip, the $120 companion fare saves us $860 a year in airfare…. That’s helps with all of the dues I have to pay 🤣

I think WL is a fabulous resort…. it just looks exactly like where I live in the Pacific NW. It would be like someone from Hawaii staying at the Polynesian.

I know Grand Cal is NorCal Arts & Crafts…. but we discovered it when we lived by the beach in SoCal (San Diego and Marina del Rey) and already have 23 years of memories there…. and you can’t beat the location of the DVC wing…

I think the EPCOT resorts would probably be the best location fit for us…. but my wife has said she refuses to go on the Skyliner (she is a very risk averse person….she had never been in an airplane before she met me) and the 1Bd room layouts of BW/BC just don’t match up with how we want to vacation…. and I don’t want to stress out over getting a 2Bd lockoff….

Grand Flo has that nostalgic Hotel Del/ Uncle Jesse Disney Magic, great restaurants, a smaller vila wing, and walking access to a park for my wife….

What are her thoughts on BLT? You could walk to MK. Though not sure if any of the room layouts are what you'd want.

My first contracts! I'm pleased with the extra points on the first contract. The other contract was the best available at the time for the same Use Year. I should have waited for something else to come along, but I'm happy with the average of the two, at peace, and ready to get vacationing!

Those 84 June 2023 points will unfortunately expire a week before I go on my first trip. I'll have to figure out the best way to get at least some value out of them on such a short timeline.

A quick update on my contract below. The listing didn’t mention any 2023 points and did list 500 in 2024 but when Disney posted the points a few days ago, there were 250 points there for UY 2023! I only had a few weeks to use them and had no personal use for them but was able to rent 247 of them out though at distressed prices.

Revised below:
PointsCentric---$125-$34138-250-PVB-Mar-0/22, 250/23, 500/24, 250/25- sent 12/29, passed 1/11

Oh boy if Poly 2 really does end up being bookable with those points then you hit it real good!

You’re lucky. We fly Delta just about everywhere as I can rack up a boatload of miles through business travel and AmEx spend, plus companion tickets.

However…. The DW won’t fly anything but Hawaiian to HI and that’s apparently non-negotiable. She likes being “on vacation” as soon as she gets on the plane, even though it’s barely a 5-hour flight from LAX. The HA Barclays card is junk, and because all of our other travel is on Delta, there’s just no practical way to get any discounts on our Aulani airfare.

Have you tried telling her that Delta operates wide body jets with international style biz seats to HNL? Not sure that will save you money in the end, but we’ve been able to use our regional upgrade certs with decent success to Hawaii.
