Anne24---$85-$15722-160-SSR-Jun-0/22, 0/23, 317/24, 160/25- sent 1/18, passed 2/7

Woohoo! 🎉
Nice, and welcome to the club! You did well at $85/point. I paid $125 for a 160 SSR contact in 2021; glad I don't need to get rid of it! You are taking advantage of a great time to buy resale. Enjoy SSR, it's a beautiful resort, especially after the new renovations.

Lil Micky---$59.24-$60320-1000-AUL-Feb-0/23, 32/24, 0/25-seller pays MF '24- sent 2/20

This contract has had two owners in less than 3 years of existence and has been a financial disaster for both. Originally had $134K financed w/ Disney in direct purchase Fall '21, then $60K financed w/ Monero in resale early '23, 2nd owners defaulted on dues and now forced to sell.

Maybe this time will be different. 😬😅
The mystery is solved!

Dobermanns---$120-$32915-250-AUL-Mar-0/23, 436/24, 250/25, 250/26-Subsidized- sent 2/20
I was wondering where that 250 went. There was two 250 & a 300, now only one of each. Wish I could afford it, those should be good for a lot of great trips, and hopefully the subsidized dues stay the lowest.

Yep, i lost a 25pt by asking about them paying fees, or splitting fees, when I should have just bought it. Lesson learned.
I've done this with stocks where I quibbled over literally pennies and lost out on huge gains...same lesson. Sometimes having that mentality of trying to squeeze out the most value out of something works and sometimes it bites us in the butt.

You just instantly became a Disboards celebrity. Just Wow!!

Yep, I hate the thought of buying higher than I want to, but dollar cost averaging is proven to be a pretty consistently safe bet.

I started with wanting maybe another 150 AUL points in our current Jun or Dec AUL UYs. But after reading the “buying Aulani” thread, and running numbers between subsidized and unsubsidized vs SSR and CCV (still mainly to be used at AUL), I decided 250 in Mar (Mar is our current VGF UY) would still work. Hubs doesn’t care since he knows I am a numbers person 😅😅

Five 250 pt subsidized dues contracts listed on the same day with March UY!

I was just telling my husband about this 1000 pt contract and he basically asked the same question. I don't think we could spend 1000 points a year but I saw that thread with all the Dis member who own 1000 or more so I guess a lot of people do it.
As a member who has owned between 900-1100 points at any given time, we usually plan 3 weeks/yr in a 2 BR. We are a family of 5 and we often stay with family or friends. With friends we usually split the cost. Next week we have 2 BR with my parents. This summer we have 2 other families joining us so with a 2 BR and 1 BR. We also usually rent a few reservations per year. Bottom line, sometimes we bank, sometimes we borrow but we’ve never had an issue using or renting all of our points. We are thankful that we are blessed to be able to do this and don’t take it for granted for one second.

No points are available until 2026? Are you required to pay the annual dues in 2025, even though you won’t get points until 2026? Maybe I’m missing something.

Resale might be tough on this one down the line, too, but congrats on a good price.

Seller credited for 2025 annual dues, taking the per point cost down by $9.76pp from their original asking.
