Oh my goodness! That is spectacular news!!! The family must still be reeling from shock! Do you think she will attend? Boy does this change things to say the least. Please pass on congrats to everyone; two spectacular granddaughters Karolyn! Our "little dancer" just had the most incredible night of her dancing career! It literally left her speechless for the first time in her life. Along with a few other Center Stage dancers, she competed in an "extra" competition to get ready for National's. They almost canceled the weekend when, last Friday, guests couldn't even GET to the resort it was being held at due to flooding in east Texas. Water receded so they made the short trip to Conroe today. She entered her solo at the Elite level (highest level offered) for this competition, Synergy Performing Arts. She earned the Synergy Shine grade which is the highest score they give; 4th Overall in the entire solo division; a really special (to her since she choreographed the number) Judges Award for being "unbelievably believable" in her solo dedicated to teen depression. All the Judge could say when she came forward was "would you let me give you a BIG hug for that number?" She then received a scholarship for a dance intensive but the biggest surprise of the evening came from the head of the dance department at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas! She was offered an $8,000 scholarship! The look on her face was priceless in the video! We'd lost the livestream and Sara was sitting in the audience....not paying attention ...until she heard Katie being called forward! We are SO blessed!

The blink of an eye and it's time for COLLEGE graduation!
Super day for our family and excited for graduation Saturday! This morning youngest DGD decided, pending acceptance, she will attend Lamar University majoring in Theater/Dance in the fall. This evening oldest DGD participated in a lovely HPU tradition...Chime Out. Four years ago this class "Chimed In" during the Covid epidemic; tonight they complete the cycle and "Chime Out" turning leadership over to the junior class. That was followed by Honors Academy Senior Awards. New beginnings for both of them!

Not momentous by any means but we are experiencing a truly beautiful rainy day! Lots of good rain to help relieve the fire danger!
