I'm sorry for taking so long to reply I didn't realize there were "actual comments" attached to the photos you viewed! I thought that the thumbs rating was the comment----anyways, my secret is I bought my first ever digital camera, a Canon Powershot camera A95, 2 weeks before we left and this was my very first fireworks picture.
I used a mini tripod and set it up on one of the trashcans in front of the castle for stability-then I put it to "nightshot" and turned off the flash. Just when the firework went up I would snap the pic so it would take at just about the time it was going off and then I took about 50 pictures, crossing my fingers hoping something turned out--I was really pleased as almost all of the pics were beautiful with this camera!
