CBR $75 Gift Card deal ending

I had emailed Disney about out May 2018 trip. I asked about possibly shortening our trip by a day or 2 since we're unsure if we will fly or drive, future discounts, and adding tickets/changing to a package from room only. This is the response I received. I realize that they didn't really confirm or deny if we would receive the gift card still for upgrading our package. I figure if they can't I'll just but the tickets separately then link to MDE.

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort. We are so excited to hear that you are planning a visit to come see us here at Walt Disney World®!

If you modify your reservation to change the dates of stay you will still receive the gift cards as the original booking date was before March 20, 2017.

The compensation given for the refurbishment at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort will not be affected any special offers that may be able to be applied to your reservation in the future, as this is a Thank you from the Cast Members at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.

If you currently have a Room-Only reservation, and would like to upgrade to a Walt Disney Travel Company vacation package, we will need to create a new reservation for you to create your vacation! This means that we will need to take a new deposit for your booking (with the full balance due 30 days before check in), and your original deposit will be refunded to you.

Yup. I got it too. I called in he said only pirate rooms are left. I went on line and nothing was available. He put me on hold for guest services and after long hold he came back with a 200$ savings. And keep GC. I have that TY$ on my code too

So I guess my previous comment that TY$ means thank you money is correct! ;)

having multiple trips in MDE is not a problem. I have 5 in mine right now, thanks to 2 trips and 2 split stays

I have had more than 1 resort stay listed at a time. I am concerned about tickets tho. We have an AP now which will expire in September. We have a free dining reservation in December with 2 day tickets included. I have read some posts about needing to get tickets prioritized by guest services so the correct ticket is used first. I want my AP used when we go in May, not the 2 day ticket from my December package. Although maybe that wouldn't happen since the package won't even be fully paid for in May. Just why I waited to link my other reservation.

Yes, you would want to make sure and get the AP prioritized to be sure it uses that and not the tickets. We've had to do that in the past and it went fine. We had multi day tickets and several single day tickets all linked. They made it so the multi day tickets were used

ETA - I bet you are right in that the package tickets are fine. The reason is, you can't just access package tickets before your package starts without requesting access to them. So you are likely just fine. Still, worth stopping to be sure everything is in order. I just don't trust Disney tech

You'll be fine to link your December PKG now and not have to prioritize the AP over the 2 day PKG tix b/c the PKG isn't "valid" yet (for lack of a better term). The situation where it gets annoying is if you are on a PKG the PKG tix will be used first even if you have a valid AP, so you have to prioritize the AP over the PKG tix before you get to the tapstile. (Ex: would be if you had to buy the PKG tix to get free dining even though you have an AP and you want to save the PKG tix until next year.) I have WAY TOO Much experience with Guest Services over tix issues the last 3 trips!!! :-O

I booked mine on the last day, haven't received any email yet.
But the biggest issue is that we might have to change our date, because my hubby may not be able to make it. We want to push it for another 2 weeks or so but I am concerned that we will lose $75 GC. I have RO booking and we will probably change to RO....
Do you know if it's allowed?

You'll be fine. And it's been confirmed by several in writing. This is modifying an existing reservation, not a new reservation. Your confirmation number won't change.

Yup, like AngiTN said, you'll be fine. I had to change my dates and I still kept the gift card

Thank you!
I really hope I can get my GC confirmation email soon. I just made the cut - as I mentioned before my transaction occurred on March 20 12:00 (shows on my email on March 19th), so I was verbally told that they are honouring it, but would like to have it written....

Did you get the pirate rooms or regular rooms? I would love a discount for our August dates but do not want to move to pirate rooms. Double beds are too small for us. :)

Thank you to those who posted they were able to apply summer discount to their CBR reservation and keep the $75 gc as well. I was able to call and get reservation modified. Although I did have to upgrade to water/pool view from standard, I did save an addtional $275.

My travel agent is still saying no promo can be added to the gift card offer. I called Disney and the agent tried switching my vacation to another date that had the same room and it would not accept the promo. Yet if I booked a second vacation direct from Disney I would save over $600.00 as the promo is valid and has availability. He put me on hold to talk to a supervisor. After 120 minutes I got disconnected ugghhh.....Back on hold to reconnect for 30 minutes so far ;/

Are you working with an agent that has exclusive agency discounts by chance?

I do not believe it is an exclusive agency but it could be. It was booked with AAA. 120 min for call one.. 120 min second call to find out Disney can't do anything with the reservation. They did do some tests and said the promo was valid and could be applied but only through my agent. I asked if they could take it away from the agent and they said no. I asked if I could cancel with them and book a new reservation and they said yes but not with the gift cards. She told me to have them call back in AM and speak to a supervisor if need be. We shall see in the morning.

Very frustrating. I'd say no, AAA doesn't have any exclusive deals. Their partnership with Disney ended a couple years ago.
There is no reason your agent can't have the offer applied to your stay. Provided the rooms are not gone. I would ask for a supervisor at AAA. Sadly, because you have a TA, Disney won't work with you. It's actually the only reason I won't work with a TA. I can't handle giving up control

I agree with what AngiTN said. You should be able to apply the promo. It sounds like your agent either is misinformed or isn't trying super hard. I would try again with getting your agent to work this out and if he/she can't or won't, I know that you can get your reservation released back to you from the agent but I'm not sure how exactly it's done. I'm sure others here on the boards could advise you more on that, but if you did that you should be able to keep the gift card and apply the promo as long as there's still availability by the time your reservation is released back to you. I'm sorry you're dealing with this and I would not be happy either if my agent was not helping me.

I would be quite upset if that was the case. Saying that, the CM gave me his direct contact info. I think i'll have to keep a constant ongoing comunique with him so that he remmebers who I am and what he said, so when it comes time to do he'll have it fresh in his head what he promised me.
sorry, but I don't think a phone CM's promise would matter. on the confirmation emails, in the fine print, it states : "Disney reserves the right to cancel or modify a room reservation (including after the room reservation has been confirmed) if the room reservation includes or resulted from a mistake or error of any kind, including but not limited to, a mistake or error in the rate, resort or room type..." so they pretty much have their butts covered. lol

It's good that you have that, but it's highly unlikely you'll need it. As of today, CBR will not be included in any discounts for the remainder of 2017.

I'm wondering if that will be true for 2018, as I booked for april 2018. (the GC offer was good for trips till June 2018 (not sure if it's including June) the CM was so glad to get me a great rate besides the GC,(she said it was an AP discount) but as we spoke of earlier 2018 rates aren't out yet. the CM said the rate she quoted wil be what I pay, but I'm not holding my breath (as per above).
