CBR $75 Gift Card deal ending

It will all depend on when they decide to hand over the GC.

Will they do it at the BEGINNING of the Check-in procedure or AFTER the Check-in procedure and thus after the balance has been paid.

I don't think we will know for sure until Guests actually start checking-in.
Yep. I appreciate that CM was trying to be helpful but there is just no way they know. Not the ones on the phone. And likely not even the ones at the Resort, till the guests show up. And as has mentioned, this would ONLY be for room only reservations. Packages are obviously paid off before arrival.

It does bring up a question, has anyone asked, or been told, how they'll get it? Is it a physical gift card that they'll hand out or something else?

All they said was that we will get the gift cards upon check in.

perhaps i misread an earlier comment about not being allowed to apply a discount code AND receive the gift cards. The CM I spoke with when I booked assured me that I would receive the cards (i've since recieved an email stating this) and that when AP rates become available for our dates I would be able to change our rate to match that discount and would still receive the cards. I very specifically asked him this. Am I misunderstanding something that an earlier poster wrote stating the opposite? Or were they perhaps referring to an individual PIN offer discount.

No, you aren't misunderstanding. Some have said they were told they could not keep the gift card. The problem is, the CM on the phone can't actually promise either one, they really do not know for certain. You can tell the next CM you spoke to that a CM told you that but it won't mean a thing if they are not allowing updated reservations to keep the gift card when that time comes. I don't think anyone knows for certain one way or another what will happen until people want to change these reservations to get updated promos, etc, as the changes actually begin to be made

I would be quite upset if that was the case. Saying that, the CM gave me his direct contact info. I think i'll have to keep a constant ongoing comunique with him so that he remmebers who I am and what he said, so when it comes time to do he'll have it fresh in his head what he promised me.

Yep, good idea. Hopefully it won't be needed
Heck, shoot him a message now, telling him that others have been told the opposite that he told you. See what he has to say

I have and I will update with the reply I receive. I'd be surpised if this is the case, as a 75 gift card is essentialy the same discount you'd get with a room only discount rate, in fact worse in the high season or preferred room rates.

I just called Disney to check that we were all set (we booked 3-10) and they said anyone booking prior to today, 3/20 should be all set. Problem is, they could not note it in our file b/c we went through a travel agent. (makes me wonder if I should have done it independently) But, the CM did tell me that there should be no issue for anyone that booked prior to 3-20. You can not use it for the package b/c it is due before arriving, but it can be used for anything in the parks, owned by Disney, or on the website when you get home. I plan on calling my agent to make sure it is noted on my information though. (just to be safe)

I asked this a few days ago and don't think anyone has yet commented....maybe no one knows. My question is this: if we only stay at CBR on our last night and don't really have time to use the gift card due to checking out early the next morning, can I keep the card and apply it to a future stay?

When I asked, they said YES! It is a regular gift card that can be used for anything Disney. The only reason you cannot use it for this trip is it is already paid for.

I booked mine at 11:59 last night, and it ended up in Disney's system at 12:00. (my email says reserved on March 19th though)
I was on the phone with them for 30 mins (mainly waiting) and Disney confirmed that they will honour my reservation! =D
CM confirmed that it is written in my reservation and I should be getting an email regarding $75 GC within 5 days, if not call back again.

Another thing is I was also told that I can use $75 towards to pay for the room, as I got RO booking and rest is payable at check-in.

The only thing is... I wish we'd have used Bounceback offer when we went in December. We didn't think we'd come back this soon!

Same! We were there in December also! There have been so many times I should have booked the BB offer! I didn't think I'd be able to talk hubby into the Halloween party before our cruise though. Should have just done it anyway and canceled if I couldn't! Lesson learned! Glad you got verification that your reservation went through! : )

This makes me feel better about not receiving some sort of confirmation on the cards yet. Thanks for the info!

From what we have heard it sounds like this will be a regular Disney gift card - so you can definitely apply it to a future stay, a future cruise, a purchase at your local Disney store at home, as a tip in a WDW restaurant, etc.

I'm really looking forward to the first April guests reporting back how it went for them, and what the resort looks like! (whether there are changes; fences, scaffolding, heavy equipment, gift shop "bare bones" or business as usual)

It's good that you have that, but it's highly unlikely you'll need it. As of today, CBR will not be included in any discounts for the remainder of 2017.

Can't imagine how they'll ever come close to filling the resort with no discounts and construction. It's one thing to stay in a construction zone, I wouldn't care but I wouldn't want to pay full price to do it. Can't fathom many would

It may change going forward but as of today they have exceeded their target occupancy rate for the rest of 2017. With them removing 9 buildings, it really cuts that number down. They are looking into where to move people with existing reservations as they are over capacity for most of October and November.

Sure going to be interesting to see if it stays at target occupancy after all these late year folks start to realize about the construction and lack of discounts.

I think it can be fun for us to stay there again, it's where we stayed on DGD's first trip. But I am not paying full price for it, that's for sure. I'd even stay in the room again, for nostalgia, but they only had preferred rooms with the AP rate and we stayed standard before. I haven't even looked to see if that building is staying

Yes we weren't planning to go back for another year, but I booked bc of the gift cards, with the assumption that they would also offer a room discount. I will cancel if that doesn't end up being the case. I have no reason to stay at a resort under massive renovations at rack rate.

Source for that info? Im not saying you're making it up, I just hasn't read that. As info, my Disney cm phoned me today, told me not to worry, gift cards no matter what based on when I booked. Interestingly he said that ho booked the resort for people today and that they would not be receiving gift cards, but that he did book them ap rates and military rates. Also as note, If I go to try and book a room at CBR for june today, I am still getting the 15% sun and fun discount.
