I just have to brag--the stew I made yesterday came out soooooo good. I'm eating some leftover stew for lunch today. Maybe I should write it down & include it in this exchange! :rotfl:

Ok so here is the newest recipe, and yes it will be included in my exchange.

Apple Pear Crumb Cake

1 apple, cored, diced
1 pear, cored, diced
2 Tbs. + 2/3 cup granulated sugar
3 tsp. cinnamon
1 pkg. (18.5 oz) butter yellow cake mix
4 eggs
2/3 cup sour cream
2/3 cup milk
3 cups flour
2/3 cup pcked brown sugar
1 cup butter, melted
Confectioners' sugar (optional)


Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line 13x9" baking pan with foil, leaving 2" overhang; coat with cooking spray.
Combine fruit, 2 Tbs. granulated sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon. On medium-high speed, beat cake mix, eggs, sour cream and milk until fluffy, 2-3 minutes. Transfer to pan; sprinkle with fruit. Bake 30 minutes.

Combine flour, brown sugar, reaming 2/3 cup granulated sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon. Stir in butter until large crumbs form; sprinkle over cake. Bake 25 minutes or until pick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool on rack 20 minutes. Using foil, lift cake from pan. If desired sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.

Great Pumpkin Cookie

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

4 cups flour
2 cups quick-cooking oats
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups margarine -- softened
2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
16 ounces solid pack pumpkin
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Assorted icings or peanut butter.
Assorted candies, raisins and/or nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine flour, oats, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Set aside.
Cream butter. Gradually add sugars, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla. Mix well.
Alternately add dry ingredients and pumpkin, mixing well after each addition. Stir in chocolate chips.
For each cookie, drop 1/4 cup dough onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Spread into pumpkin shape using a thin spatula. Add a bit more dough to form stem.
Bake for 20-25 minutes. Cool on wire racks.
Decorate using icing or peanut butter to affix assorted candies, raisins and nuts.
Variation: Substitute 1 cup of raisins for chocolate chips.
This makes 32 LARGE cookies.
 
Nancy, do you have a recipe for oatmeal cookies? Last year I used my aunts and I didn't like the cookies, not sure if maybe her oats were stale or if I did something wrong, but I always follow a recipe exact.

I love oatmeal cookies and if I could get Archways recipe, I'd make them all the time. :thumbsup2

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

1 cup butter or margarine -- softened
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt -- optional
3 cups quick or old-fashioned oats -- uncooked
1 cup raisins

Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Beat together butter and sugars until creamy.
Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well.
Add combined flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Mix well.
Stir in oats and raisins. Mix well.
Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets. Remove to wire racks.

Bar cookies: Bake 30-35 minutes in ungreased 13x9" metal baking pan.

Oatmeal Crispies

1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups quick-cooking oats
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla.
Combine the remaining ingredients. Gradually add to creamed mixture.
Drop by tablespoons 2" apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten with a fork.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire rack to cool.
 
Thanks, I will leave the raisins out though.
 
I do too.....either nothing, or chocolate chips....or cinnamon chips are really good too.

Hello Dolly Bars

1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup shredded coconut
1/4 cup butter -- melted
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 9x9" baking pan.
In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, chocolate chips, walnuts and coconut.
Pour melted butter over the dry ingredients and stir. Press into prepared baking pan.
Drizzle the condensed milk evenly over top.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until lightly colored on top.
Let cool before cutting into bars.

Molasses Yeast Rolls

1 package active dry yeast
3/4 cup warm water -- (110º-115º)
1/2 teaspoon honey
1 1/2 cups warm milk -- (110º-115º)
1/2 cup molasses
1/4 cup butter or margarine -- softened
1 egg -- beaten
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 cups whole wheat flour
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Add honey. Let stand for 5 minutes.
Add milk, molasses, butter, egg, salt and whole wheat flour. Beat until smooth.
Stir in enough flour to form a soft dough.
Turn onto a floured surface. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Divide into 24 pieces.
Shape each into a 10" rope. Shape each rope into an "S". Coil ends until they touch the center.
Place 2" apart on greased baking sheets.
Cover and let rise until doubled, about 35 minutes.
Bake at 375º for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire racks.
