Hi, just wondering if anyone had done the atlantis aquaventure, and had any thoughts on it, also how much walking is involved as i am recovering from broken ankle but want to bring kids , thanks in advance :)

The property is huge! There is a lot of walking from the bus drop off area to the water park.

You will also do a lot of walking as the slides and pools are spread out. I'm not sure how old your kids are but if they are small and you are not doing alot of the slides then you can stay in the kiddie pool area so you can stay in one area but if your kids will be using the major slides then you'll be walking all over. Perhaps you can bring a cane, crutch or rent a wheelchair if you find it will be too much on your ankle. Good luck! My kids loved it!

I have stayed in this resort, not from cruise, and it is a blast! You will walk almost like your in Disney. It feels that big. There was our favorite pools that we hung around but slides are all over. The lazy river is NOT lazy so don't use that for transportation around haha. You will be tossed and turned and flipped probably. I think it's actually called river adventure? Fun but not lazy haha

I also went with s foot injury, it was a little too much and the group leader didn't wait for us, so we got separated and had to figure out where to go. We had rented a cabana, so luckily that was easy, otherwise I don't know if we'd have figured out where we were supposed to be. We went over spring break and it was super crowded. My husband never did find a raft for the lazy river, so that was a bummer. The rest of us were able to do it once, no slides, the lines were too long. Even with the cabana, we went back to the ship after a few hours and about $1000 spent. We are glad we went, now we don't have to wonder or go again.

It is about 20 minute slow walk from the resort entrance to the water park. I recall that it is paved and some of it winds through the casino and hotel towers. The sidewalks get VERY hot in August so water shoes are very helpful. The locker rental area is also by the beach (about as far from the entrance as you can get). I spent about an hour in the kiddie splash area with little one while DH ran around with older ones on the big slides. The not so lazy river was awesome (and pretty long)! We did it 3 times as a family. Went in late August so it was not super crowded. There is a fair bit of walking if you want to do everything but you can definitely park yourself on a lounge chair if your kids are older. Seemed pretty safe.

Let me second and emphasize the bit about the sidewalks getting super-hot. I think my kids' main memory of Aquaventure was their feet burning on the pavement. You will absolutely want to wear water shoes around there.

There can be a fair amount of walking involved - it's a big property. Not only in getting to the water area, but also in walking around.

The park was fun (especially the river ride) except for the sidewalks, and we're glad we went once. But, I don't think we'd go back again given the cost. We actually like the Disney waterparks more, and they're cheaper (how often can you say that?). Places like Schlitterbahn are better in my opinion.
