Bus Transportation to All Star etc

My daughter is going next week All Star Movies. They are planning to stay and walk SLOWLY out of MK, do the buses actually stop running an hour after closing or is that just what is posted? Getting around to/from resort restaurants etc have to be done by when? They don't want to get stranded anywhere without bus service.

They won’t be able to walk all that slowly, they will be ushered out of the “lands” by Cast Members clearing the park. Busses will run until the transportation manger gets the park clear call from the MK duty manager. They generally run for 2 hours after official park closing time. They don’t want to be at a resort later than the latest park closing time, or Disney Springs closing or they will have to take a taxi or rideshare back. There is no resort to resort transportation. For instance, if they are at Port Orleans and need to get back to ASM, they would have to take a bus to an open park then switch to an ASM bus or go to Disney Springs and transfer there.

Thank you.
They won't over stay, not fair to cast members. They were hearing 1 hour after closing buses stop... So that makes a big difference 😁

For whatever reason Disney continues to "advertise" that which can be really "scary" to see especially for new WDW Guests.

Depending on how late they leave MK,all 3 All-Star Resorts may be combined onto one Bus,but they will not be left "stranded". :)

Also it is acceptable to get in line for an attraction just before Park Close.

There are also PhotoPass CMs on Main Street USA after Park Close for Castle Pics and shops on Main Street USA such as The Emporium usually remain open for a time after Park Close.

So they wouldn't want to "linger",but there is no reason to "rush" out of the Park immediately at Park Close.

Why do you think Disney continues to "advertise" buses operate 45 minutes before Park Open and 1 hour after Park Close when that is clearly misleading information?

Theme Park buses continue running until the parks are clear of guests. You can take your time leaving the parks. Disney Springs is the only location that the buses stop running at a specific time.

So people leave. If they say "1 hour after park close" then people won't twiddle their thumbs to exit the park as much. Thus allowing CMs to clear the park faster and start end of night duties.

As @LilyWDW said, to get people out of the parks. The busses have to serve all 4 parks plus DS, and they don’t have THAT many busses, or drivers. It’s one of the reasons why park close hours are staggered. For instance once DAK is cleared, those busses may then be deployed to MK and ST, and so on. If they say one hour, then they can usually get everyone on busses in two. If they said two hours, then people would linger longer and Disney would have to keep more busses allocated to each park, meaning the need for more busses and more drivers (and finding bus drivers has always been a challenge, even pre pandemic).

We have double the amount of drivers than pre pandemic numbers and will start adding an additional 93 buses at the end of this year through early next year. Although some of the older buses will be retired.

But if it is that critical to get Guests hustling on out to the buses that Disney is willing to be mislead Guests with an incorrect 1 hour cutoff, why does Disney encourage Guests to linger by scheduling PhotoPass CMs after Park Close and by scheduling CMs at The Emporium, etc. after Park Close.

If it is that critical wouldn't they cut the attraction lines and not allow Guests to enter lines just before Park Close?

Also it is only new Guests who take the 1 hour cutoff seriously-repeat Guests learn quickly that it is not true.

So JMHO,any small benefit Disney may get by announcing a 1 hour cutoff is outweighed by the dishonesty.

After the "one hour after park closing" and after exiting guests slows past a trickle to a drip drip, buses may go to multiple resorts, over and above the change from individual resort buses to shared among the three All Stars. In addition, wait at the park for the bus to fill somewhat..

"" If it is that critical wouldn't they cut the attraction lines and not allow Guests to enter lines just before Park Close? ""

Park closing time is defined as the time that guests may no longer join ride lines.

Exactly my point!

On one hand Disney tells Guests to book it on out to the Bus Depot because we are closing that puppy in one hour.

And on the other hand Disney tells Guests to hop in that 45 minute line for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train right at Park Close and then after that be sure to get that Castle PhotoPass pic and then head on over to The Emporium for some shopping!

And the incorrect "45 minute before Park Open" does nothing but freak out new Guests who think they will not be able to make their early ADRs.

The only thing the dishonest bus info does is cause Guest confusion as evidenced by the OP's question.
