Canadian Buffoon's Semi-EPIC Vacation - 10/29 - Link to new TR!

Lunch time!
Yay!

Lunch time.
Think I heard that before.

Lunch time.
Pretty sure that sounds familiar.

But look! I took a picture of
a Pluto topiary, just for @Pluto0809.

IMG_1811_zps2xytricr.jpg
I bet she appreciates that...she said on her TR she got almost no pictures at EPCOT.

Lunch time.
Deja vu.

Isn't it amazing that they can do
that with just flowers?
(And I'm sure, some kind of
shell underneath that facilitates...)
Yes on both counts.

Lunch time!
I think that record is skipping.

Hang on. This is a nice photo-op.
Just let me take a quick snap...

IMG_1812_zpsocpurqwy.jpg
Ummm, you're missing something there...there's SUPPOSED to be a monorail there.

LUNCH TIME!!!
I know I'm a bit slow, but okay, I getit.

Perhaps it's lunch time?
Hey, is it, perhaps lunch time?

Our first stop, the Citrus Blossom.
Kay (DD18) had asked for the
souvenir Orange Bird cup, so...

IMG_1813_zpsuiij93vu.jpg
As often as I go, I didn't get one of these. Kinda regret that.

The fact that it was mind meltingly
hot out might have factored in,
but I still liked it enough to
want another.
No, I'm sure that had absolutely nothing to do with it.

I grabbed a Crispy Citrus Chicken
with Orange Aïoli and Baby Greens
Wait!!! Is that rabbit food on your food????

We both love corn on the cob.
And it couldn't be anything but
better with garlic spread on it, right?
Love corn on the cob. Love garlic. Seems to make sense.

I was right. It couldn't be better.
It was downright awful.
That stinks.

First off... I guess the truth is,
really good corn on the cob
only needs two things.
Butter. And salt.
You speak truth!

Also... it was cold.
Okay, Mr polite Canadian...this is the time you go back and ask for a refund. That's just wrong on so many levels, especially since it's in your designated area.

It should be piping hot, fresh out of
the pot of boiling water or just off the grill.
This was neither.
Yeah, that's just not okay.

We needed something to wash
the taste out of our mouths.
We stopped at La Isla Fresca
and snagged a Tropical Freeze.

IMG_1817_zpsc0f5vhow.jpg

Ahhhh… much better!
We both really liked this.
That looks mighty tasty. What were the fruits in it?

Just as she was about to eat,
it started to rain.
We dutifully put on our rain jackets,
and opened the umbrella.
I snagged my VIP weather card
and waved it angrily in the air
and it immediately stopped raining.
Okay, I have to call you on this one...has nothing to do with VIP weather card...that's just normal FL rain.

Elle was just about to pop her first
taste in her mouth when she stopped,
mouth agape, hand inches from her face.
Just in time?

Death, by hot sauce.
What a way to go.
Circle of life.
Hmmm...maybe that's what we need to do instead of spraying insecticide...just spray hot sauce. :lmao:

Elle also got herself a bubble tea
which she pronounced to be:
"The Best Tea Ever".
So good enough to both write home about
and to write about here.
A double mention.
I've had that...I'd be interested what about it she found so great. I'm not a big fan of the bobo balls to begin with, but I'd be interested in her take on it.

Passing Germany, we popped into
Karamell-Küche to see if anything
would tempt our taste buds.
I stopped in shock at the size
of the strawberries being dipped.
Well of course, everything in there tempts your taste buds.

While pretty much everything looked
amazing, we knew we had an upcoming
ADR and managed to walk out
empty handed.
You did what?????
:faint:

And no one can pass by the little
model railroad and village in Germany
without stopping.
It's just not possible.
One of my favorite places in EPCOT.

I was hoping to catch VOL as we
passed through and as luck
would have it, they were performing!
One of my favorite places in EPCOT

Unfortunately, they were just starting
the last song of their set.
:sad2:

Still... it was enough for a small taste.
They're so good. Love hearing them.
True, a little is better than none.

I reached out and gently nudged
a grain of sand with an outstretched finger.
The grain didn't budge.
The entire display was glued solid.
You did what????

Now I know why it looked so nicely
raked after a day of having little monsters...
er… lovely children being allowed
to drag their hands through it.
Or Martian loving Canadians!!!

Unfortunately, the game froze
at that point, but not before we
got a pressed penny for our efforts.
Sound like it's designed by the same folks as MDE.
Isn't it supposed to be penny for your thoughts not your efforts?

The game froze again when we
tried to play in the UK.
We gave up after that.
Yep, must be designed by the same folks.

"Dad? Why did you take a picture
of Bambi's butt?"
Hey, pkondz...

Why did you take a picture of Bambi's butt?

We stopped in Canada
and watched O Canada, okay?
I always enjoy that show.
Sure it's a nice little plug
of home... but Martin Short
does a pretty good job
of making it entertaining, too.
I go there almost every time. I'm okay looking at the beauty of snow without the cold.

We then left World Showcase
for a little bit and walked over
to Imagination which was a walk on.
Imagine that.
Love figment. Still one of my favorite rides.
It was a walk on? I'm shocked.

Elle remembered that last time
she had sent some Figment
pictures to some friends.
I told her she could still do that.
Woo hoo!

And no matter how hard she tried,
it just would not type letters
corresponding to anything entered.
New King James --- that sucketh.

I took this photo, because it
encapsulates fathers everywhere,
but especially at Disney:

IMG_1848_zpsztxq9oaj.jpg
DisDads for the win!!!

He said. "Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry" in rapid succession.
I just thought he was being polite...

oh.

Polite!
Again, the grin.
So a Japenese guy in the US being polite to a Canadian. I like it.

After a very pleasant dinner
(Elle would pronounce this meal
to be in her top 3 for the trip.)
I'm still surprised Tony's is the top, but might need to give this a whirl some time.

Earlier I had secured another FP for TT
and the time was open now.
Except rain clouds were threatening
and I could see lightning in the near distance.
I waved my VIP weather pass and
confidently entered the ride.
It was a walk on with the FP and
we were riding in no time.
Now I know why you didn't photoshop the last time.

Photopass was working this time.
It would appear that we enjoyed the ride.

421942760_zpsery7tld3.jpg
It appears that way, but we know Canadians are too polite to reflect if they hated it, so I'm not convinced.

Once at the resort, I grabbed my
camera and tripod and headed
Is that the thing the camera sits on top of?

Once safe and dry in our room,
it was time to break out...
The Cheesecake!
I happen to know a guy who makes those. You must be a great guy to have him make you one.

I relaxed and kept the water running
for quiet a while.
Ruh roh George.

Eventually, my head grew heavy
and my sight grew dim.
You had to stop for the night?

Around 11pm, the phone rang, jolting
us both out of a sound sleep.
Ruh roh George.

Instead I heard:
"Good evening, this is the front desk.
Is everything all right with your room?"
Strange time for guest services to be checking your satisfaction of your room.

"Sorry to bother you, but the room
directly below you is reporting
water leaking from the ceiling."
Just exactly how long did you have the water running?

Did you see it
in this chapter?
I did...made reference to it above.
I think it was the 2nd or 3rd time through though.

um...
Me.

Wow! I don't know anybody who has theirs.

It won't let me quote the emoji but man o man, I could have ended up with not a bright future(I hung out with the bad kids because I thought that was cool). Thank goodness for basketball and changing schools, honestly the most life changing decision I have made without a doubt. Changed the whole trajectory of my future.

I thought the same thing, but...
They stop the boats, but not the busses.
I wonder if they will be similarly insulated?
I mean a car (or bus) has rubber tires...

Maybe these have too?

I didn't think of that. That's possible. I'm still gonna let others test it out before I put my life at risk lol

Did you have your eyes closed?

:rolleyes1

:rotfl:
Perhaps it's lunch time?

Nah, I don't think so. No one mentioned it.

Our first stop, the Citrus Blossom.
Kay (DD18) had asked for the
souvenir Orange Bird cup,

Oo those are so cute. I ended up ordering one from a personal shopper lol.

although the orange
sunshine wine slushy has fared better),

Could you get the wine slushy in the cup or was that a separate offering?

while Elle tried the Lobster Tail
with Meyer Lemon Emulsion and
Grilled Lemon.
She loved it. And was her favourite
item of the day.

Sounds delicious. Not sure what a meyer lemon is though.

I was right. It couldn't be better.
It was downright awful.

Oy how do you mess up corn on the cob?!

Elle spotted someone with guacamole
outside of Choza de Margarita and
just had to have some.

I love that guacamole!

I'm not kidding. It was that fast.
Feel a couple drops, put on jacket,
open umbrella, close umbrella
(didn't even raise it overhead),
take off jacket, eat food.

Wow!

IMG_1819_zps11ufyohl.jpg

Death, by hot sauce.
What a way to go.
Circle of life.

🤮🤮🤮 I can deal with a lot of things. Not bugs.

We stopped in Canada
and watched O Canada, okay?

This is the only WS movie I've seen! It was very entertaining. I tried to watch the American Adventure. The dark, chairs and AC meant I was asleep before it even started.

When he served the appetizer,
he deadpan said. "Bon Appetit, eh?"

:rotfl::rotfl:

"Sorry to bother you, but the room
directly below you is reporting
water leaking from the ceiling."

Wow that's terrible for the people below you!

Did you see it
in this chapter?

I didn't know you were a flower and garden sponsor. How fancy.

Lunch time.

Isn't it amazing that they can do
that with just flowers?
(And I'm sure, some kind of
shell underneath that facilitates...)

Lunch time!

Oh, okay. Better move on.

Hang on. This is a nice photo-op.
Just let me take a quick snap...
Beautiful!
Now I know this has been getting
poor reviews (although the orange
sunshine wine slushy has fared better),
but I really liked it.
I mean... a lot.
The fact that it was mind meltingly
hot out might have factored in,
but I still liked it enough to
want another.

But... yes... food.
I grabbed a Crispy Citrus Chicken
with Orange Aïoli and Baby Greens
while Elle tried the Lobster Tail
with Meyer Lemon Emulsion and
Grilled Lemon.
She loved it. And was her favourite
item of the day.
I loved that slushy too
Suitably sated, we sashayed on.
Elle spotted someone with guacamole
outside of Choza de Margarita and
just had to have some.
She loves guac.
I on the other hand, do not.
I tried that guac last summer and loved it.
Unfortunately, they were just starting
the last song of their set.
Still... it was enough for a small taste.
They're so good. Love hearing them.

Moving on...
I had to stop and admire this young
Bougainvillea bonsai.
It was easily one of the prettiest
I'd ever seen.
Gorgeous!
After cooling down a bit,
we headed over to France where
once again we were graced with
an air conditioned room while we
watched Impressions de France.
This is one of my favourite attractions
in World Showcase.
It's air conditioned... and has seats.
Oh, and there's a movie or something.
Agreed! Great way to cool off and relax all while daydreaming about a trip to France!
We stopped in Canada
and watched O Canada, okay?
I always enjoy that show.
Sure it's a nice little plug
of home... but Martin Short
does a pretty good job
of making it entertaining, too.

We then left World Showcase
for a little bit and walked over
to Imagination which was a walk on.
Imagine that.
I have never seen "O Canada" at Epoct......must remedy that this week.
ater, because Elle was sitting in the corner,
he had to reach far over and a bit over my plate
in order to get her food to her.
He said. "Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry" in rapid succession.
I just thought he was being polite...

oh.

Polite!
Again, the grin.
And with that, we decided to
call it a night.
We made a quick stop in
Mouse Gears on the way out.
Elle bought a few knick knacks
for some friends and something
for herself (I'll show you in the
next update, where I'll have a photo.)
I bought a couple of pens for Kay.

We made our way to our bus stop,
arriving at 8:38pm. The bus arrived
at a fairly reasonable 8:40pm,
two minutes later.

Once at the resort, I grabbed my
camera and tripod and headed
out to shoot some resort photos.
Old Key West is gorgeous!
Once safe and dry in our room,
it was time to break out...
The Cheesecake!

Great way to end the day!

Except... for one last little item.

I decided that I wanted to soak
in the bath.
I love hotel baths.
Sure, the tub is frequently shallow,
but you can't beat the unlimited
hot water!
I relaxed and kept the water running
for quiet a while.
Eventually, my head grew heavy
and my sight grew dim.
I got out, dried off and headed for bed.

Around 11pm, the phone rang, jolting
us both out of a sound sleep.
(There's no sleep like a Disney sleep!)

I grabbed the receiver, expecting to hear
that there was some kind of emergency
back at home.

Instead I heard:
"Good evening, this is the front desk.
Is everything all right with your room?"

I was perplexed.
I mean... it's nice that they want to make
sure everything is fine, but...
At eleven o'clock at night???

I answered that everything was fine...

"Sorry to bother you, but the room
directly below you is reporting
water leaking from the ceiling."

Oh. OH!
Whoopsie.
Well, not my fault you didn't
plumb the tub properly.

I explained that I'd had a bath
and that must be where the water
was from.
They asked if they needed to send
someone to clean anything up.
I assured her that we were fine,
said goodnight, hung up the phone...
A brief thought passed through my head.
"I hope that got them an upgrade, at least."

And passed out.
I hope they got an upgrade too......oh dear!

I'm such an amazing person!!!!!!
You are! I've been saying that all along!

You got close, though!
I'm surprised you even got
in line! You is brave!
(Totally not kidding here.

I know how you get.)
I is so brave! Ya know, I rode green a long time ago and wasn't sure which was worse - the claustrophobia or the motion sickness :scared: Haven't braved it since!

Actually, I did hear that
they will be replacing the "flight"
for an underwater tour through
Hawaii, Great Barrier Reef and Mariana's Trench.

Or maybe I'm making up rumors.
Look at us, we could really shake things up in time for the D23 Expo!

Circle of life.

IMG_1820_zpspvrlmfy2.jpg
I see what you did there... ;)

Elle also got herself a bubble tea
which she pronounced to be:
"The Best Tea Ever".
I agree completely! Few things in life are better to me than a World Showcase sashay whilst clutching a Bubble Tea from Lotus House. I dream of exactly that often!

So good enough to both write home about
and to write about here.
A double mention.

It sounded so natural, that I didn't even

Then I jerked my head up and looked at him

::yes::

Impressive. Most impressive!
I got lucky on a couple.
I have no idea who wrote
the screenplay for the movie.

Took a guess and was right.
I had forgotten he'd done a variant of take off with Bob & Doug McKenzie.
Never heard of that.
I'll have to look online and see what the award was.
He received the Order of Canada
https://www.gg.ca/en/honours/canadian-honours/order-canada
As for getting galactic hero, unless I get a bad gun (or I'm trying to get 533,100 on both sides), it's rare I don't and I've gotten on both sides 7 times now.
Huh!
I've never come close.
I'm never quite sure what
I'm aiming for, I'm hitting.

Shoulda got something to go.
One of my favorite places in EPCOT.

One of my favorite places in EPCOT

He had no idea what a jerk

Or he made it for Elle.

One of those.
You had to stop for the night?

Just exactly how long did you have the water running?
Hmm... 30 minutes?
Not my problem if they didn't
have the overflow plumbed

properly.
I did...made reference to it above.
I think it was the 2nd or 3rd time through though.

Wow! I don't know anybody who has theirs.

Wow.
Isn't it amazing how one
(or in your case, two)
change can change your

whole life?

Cold, garlic corn on the cob?! 🤢
Yeah... blech.
I've been too spoiled by living in the land of amazing corn (especially at the MN State Fair) to tolerate that!
We used to go out to my
uncle's place in the summer.
He'd bring corn in from the
back yard and we'd have
a corn roast.
Picked, husked, boiled.
Pats of butter on every table.

Soooo good.

I didn't think of that. That's possible. I'm still gonna let others test it out before I put my life at risk lol
I can just see you, parked in a car,
waiting through a thunderstorm
to see if anyone on the gondolas

gets fried.
Nah, I don't think so. No one mentioned it.
Oh.
Nevermind, then.

Oo those are so cute. I ended up ordering one from a personal shopper lol.
They are cute. :)
Could you get the wine slushy in the cup or was that a separate offering?
No. It came in a boring glass.
Sounds delicious. Not sure what a meyer lemon is though.
Code for "pretentious".
Oy how do you mess up corn on the cob?!
They found a way. :sad2:
I love that guacamole!
It was a bit too spicy for her. :)
🤮🤮🤮 I can deal with a lot of things. Not bugs.
Not a fan of chocolate
covered ants, then?

This is the only WS movie I've seen! It was very entertaining. I tried to watch the American Adventure. The dark, chairs and AC meant I was asleep before it even started.
I wouldn't know.
It's been over 30 years
since I've seen it!
Wow that's terrible for the people below you!
Sorry!
(Not really. Fix your plumbing Disney.)

I didn't know you were a flower and garden sponsor. How fancy.
;)

I loved that slushy too
I think you and I
are the only ones!

I tried that guac last summer and loved it.
It was too spicy for her.
She's a spicy wimp.

Gorgeous!
Isn't it?
I stopped dead in my tracks!

Agreed! Great way to cool off and relax all while daydreaming about a trip to France!
Or simply... dream...

:cat:
I have never seen "O Canada" at Epoct......must remedy that this week.
Yes! You must!
Old Key West is gorgeous!

I hope they got an upgrade too......oh dear!
Then they have me to thank!
Where's my thank you?????

:rolleyes1

Thanks, Tracy. :)
I is so brave! Ya know, I rode green a long time ago and wasn't sure which was worse - the claustrophobia or the motion sickness :scared: Haven't braved it since!
You're really not missing much...
Except feeling sick.

Look at us, we could really shake things up in time for the D23 Expo!
That's being held in Corning, NY
this year!

I see what you did there... ;)
;)
I agree completely! Few things in life are better to me than a World Showcase sashay whilst clutching a Bubble Tea from Lotus House. I dream of exactly that often!
One must have the proper
locomotion with the correct
libation.
Well I stop off in the American pavilion too, okay?
:) Okay.
Also, I love O Canada! - I did just hear the update will begin in August (before my trip) and I'm a bit bummed. I love the "I have a FP for Soarin" bit at the end. I love Martin Short :goodvibes
I like that bit, too.
Hoping the update
is a good one. :scared:

Those look good!!
They were! Really good!
Don't mess with perfection.
That's crazy fast results :rotfl:
I paid good money.
I want immediate results! :snooty:

Pretty much.
Nope. Loving stopping to look at this display
::yes::
So much to see!
You have to stop!

Very! One of the prettiest
I've seen!

;)

You're just gonna have
to wait for the update
to find out.

:sad1:

Our first stop, the Citrus Blossom.
Kay (DD18) had asked for the
souvenir Orange Bird cup, so...

IMG_1813_zpsuiij93vu.jpg

Everyone keeps posting pics of their cute, little Orange Bird spiders and I'm kicking myself for not getting one :sad2:

Elle was just about to pop her first
taste in her mouth when she stopped,
mouth agape, hand inches from her face.

"Hey..." She whimpered.
She put her food down, and...

Death, by hot sauce.
What a way to go.
Circle of life.

Yuck!

Those bugs were AWFUL! When we were there at the beginning of April, they were just starting to come out. We noticed them for the first time as we were sitting having our lunch on the porch at Tony's and they were annoying then, but nothing like they were in May. They were everywhere! I don't know that I would choose to go back in May for this reason. My kids would have been freaking out with the amount of bugs there :crazy2:

Moving on...
I had to stop and admire this young

It was easily one of the prettiest

got a pressed penny for our efforts.

The game froze again when we
tried to play in the UK.
We gave up after that.

We haven't played Agent P in a few years and at the time, they gave us a flip phone to use. I didn't realize you use your own phone now, though it sounds super glitchy.

We wandered over to Pixar Shorts.
There was an eleven minute wait
until the next show.
I took this photo, because it
encapsulates fathers everywhere,
but especially at Disney:

IMG_1848_zpsztxq9oaj.jpg

Yep. That's about it all right!

:rotfl:

Once at the resort, I grabbed my
camera and tripod and headed
out to shoot some resort photos.

I love all your photos. It looks so peaceful at night. The one time I stayed at OKW was in 2006 and I barely took any pictures of the resort. It wasn't really a "thing" then and it was long before I ever wrote a trip report. Your pictures are lovely and captured the serenity of OKW perfectly 🥰

"Sorry to bother you, but the room
directly below you is reporting
water leaking from the ceiling."

Oh. OH!
Whoopsie.
Well, not my fault you didn't
plumb the tub properly.

I explained that I'd had a bath
and that must be where the water
was from.
They asked if they needed to send
someone to clean anything up.
I assured her that we were fine,
said goodnight, hung up the phone...
A brief thought passed through my head.
"I hope that got them an upgrade, at least."

Oh, no! Those poor people!

That happened to us once. We came home to The CR at like midnight after attending MNSSHP and our bathroom was full of water. They came and moved us a few doors down and comped us for everything we already had charged to the room, which I think was around $800. Totally worth it for a little inconvenience!

LUNCH TIME!!!
It's 8:15am and my body now thinks it's time for lunch.

It was downright awful.
crying dumbo.gif

Also... it was cold.
What a disappointment!

Death, by hot sauce.
What a way to go.
Circle of life.
He died how he lived.

I still don't know how we did it.
I still don't know why we did it.
I also still don't know how you resisted. I have yet to enter the caramel shop and come away empty handed.

Too much whistling and
not enough juggling.
Ohhh I have words about that whistle.

The entire display was glued solid.
No it's just the power of Disney Magic holding it together

I took this photo, because it
encapsulates fathers everywhere,
but especially at Disney:
Disney is the place where I realized I didn't really want children.

Once at the resort, I grabbed my
camera and tripod and headed
out to shoot some resort photos.
Great photos!

It was unfortunate that Elle
didn't eat pork, whereupon
I was forced to consume it
all by myself.

Tragic.

Very tragic. I'm sure you suffered for hours. NOT.

At 8:07, two minutes after we arrived,
an empty Epcot bus pulled up.
Elle and I were the only passengers.
I presume Disney's way of apologizing
for the previous day's unimaginable
20 and 30 minute waits.

Nice to know the bus pass is working.

In no time, we were in line for bag check.
The Epcot bag check is registered with the
Guinness Book of World Records as the
slowest bag check line in the world!

Worst bag check ever!

Of course she chose pink.

I like this pink, it's not too bright.

Still makes for an interesting
photo, I suppose.
I told her that I was too old to be
an astronaut.
She looked at me genuinely surprised
and said. "You are???"

Awwwwww.

Even though it had been ten years
since she was last on Soarin'
(apostrophe trademarked... now
who remembers that???)
she still said she missed the smell
of oranges.

I still miss the oranges too.

And I'm totally digging
my Mr. T mohawk.

You're rocking that Mr. T hair!

Did you see it
in this chapter?

Nope.

Isn't it amazing that they can do
that with just flowers?
(And I'm sure, some kind of
shell underneath that facilitates...)

Who cares? It's still amazing.

Nice! Very pretty.

If only you'd waited for that monorail...:duck:

I was right. It couldn't be better.
It was downright awful.
First off... I guess the truth is,
really good corn on the cob
only needs two things.
Butter. And salt.
That's it.
Nothing else.

Agreed. Sometimes simple is best.

So the garlic spread detracted instead
of enhanced.
Also... it was cold.
It should be piping hot, fresh out of
the pot of boiling water or just off the grill.
This was neither.

Ew. Sounds pretty disgusting. Corn on the cob and McDonald's french fries are both foods that should always be served fresh and hot.

I snagged my VIP weather card
and waved it angrily in the air
and it immediately stopped raining.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: This mental image really makes me laugh.

And then this happened.
Did I mention yet, the love bugs?
They were everywhere!
Worst I've ever seen.

Yuck. Those are never fun to deal with.

Death, by hot sauce.
What a way to go.
Circle of life.

There are probably worse ways to go.

We stopped in China at Lotus House
for some veggie spring rolls which
were okay, but nothing to write home about.
(But okay enough to write about, apparently.)

So they didn't make it into the postcard, then? Or the text message?

We continued on and these butterfly
houses caught my eye, outside of Germany.
I fashioned an eye patch out of some
paper napkins and took a look with
the one eye I had left.

You're surprisingly nonchalant about this development. I'd have been screaming bloody murder.

I still don't know how we did it.
I still don't know why we did it.

And calories don't count on vacation!

And no one can pass by the little
model railroad and village in Germany
without stopping.
It's just not possible.

Truth.

We moved on and paused for a minute
or two to watch the juggler in Italy.
But... well... I've never really been impressed
with him and have never watched more
than a couple minutes.
Too much whistling and
not enough juggling.

Also truth. The whistling gets old and irritating after...oh, about 4 seconds.

Unfortunately, they were just starting
the last song of their set.
Still... it was enough for a small taste.
They're so good. Love hearing them.

VOL are wonderful. I hope they never go away.

Wow, that's really stunning!

I love when there are signs
telling me what things are.
Then I can just roll their names
out as if I had any idea what
I was talking about.

:rotfl:I use that trick frequently as well.

I reached out and gently nudged
a grain of sand with an outstretched finger.
The grain didn't budge.
The entire display was glued solid.

Now I know why it looked so nicely
raked after a day of having little monsters...
er… lovely children being allowed
to drag their hands through it.

I don't know whether to tip my cap to clever planning or shake my head in disappointment at it being fake.

This is one of my favourite attractions
in World Showcase.
It's air conditioned... and has seats.
Oh, and there's a movie or something.

Sounds like a lot of the best attractions in Epcot.

Unfortunately, the game froze
at that point, but not before we
got a pressed penny for our efforts.

The game froze again when we
tried to play in the UK.
We gave up after that.

Well...that stinks.

"Dad? Why did you take a picture
of Bambi's butt?"

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

We then left World Showcase
for a little bit and walked over
to Imagination which was a walk on.
Imagine that.

Shocking. Just shocking.

And no matter how hard she tried,
it just would not type letters
corresponding to anything entered.

Can we just blow this attraction up and start over? Again?

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2: Oh man, if ever there was a perfect photo!

When he served the appetizer,
he deadpan said. "Bon Appetit, eh?"

It sounded so natural, that I didn't even
notice it at first. Just kinda nodded thanks.
Then I jerked my head up and looked at him
sharply. He just grinned. I laughed.

Nicely done, random Japanese chef.

Polite!
Again, the grin.

The lesson here is that stereotypes are always funny!

Ok, maybe not.

Photopass was working this time.
It would appear that we enjoyed the ride.

I'm just glad the kid in the front right seat knew proper etiquette and kept his hands down, thus preventing anyone from being Wazowski'd in the photo.

Once at the resort, I grabbed my
camera and tripod and headed
out to shoot some resort photos.

There's something about Disney at night, isn't there?

I like that angle. Nice shot.

"Sorry to bother you, but the room
directly below you is reporting
water leaking from the ceiling."

:scared1:

Did you see it
in this chapter?

Yes! ...finally. Do you own Epcot now?

We moved on, tummies slightly
mollified, to Trowel & Trellis.
We were both very stoked to try
Grilled Street Corn on the Cob
with Savory Garlic Spread.
We both love corn on the cob.
And it couldn't be anything but
better with garlic spread on it, right?

sure seems like that would be really good. I love garlic parmesan on my chicken wings.

What's funny is from the picture -- it almost looks like the corn has been deep fried a little -- which then made me wonder how that would taste. A nice, light crunchiness on the outside. I think it could be a winner.

Elle spotted someone with guacamole
outside of Choza de Margarita and
just had to have some.
She loves guac.
I on the other hand, do not.

You guys probably don't get a lot of good guac up in the great north. All guacs are not created equally.

I snagged my VIP weather card
and waved it angrily in the air
and it immediately stopped raining.

at least one of your VIP cards is working.

And then this happened.
Did I mention yet, the love bugs?
They were everywhere!
Worst I've ever seen.
Apparently it was the worst
Florida's seen in years, too.

I read several reports about them being especially bad this year.

Death, by hot sauce.
What a way to go.
Circle of life.

Just more protein!

We stopped in China at Lotus House
for some veggie spring rolls which
were okay, but nothing to write home about.

Never get veggie spring rolls -- always stick to pork egg rolls.
(But okay enough to write about, apparently.)

then I was like...

something about seeing people with green faces just throws me off.

I was hoping to catch VOL as we
passed through and as luck
would have it, they were performing!

I still haven't caught a performance of theirs yet. Closest I came to seeing a performance was a couple years ago, but they had literally just finished.

After cooling down a bit,
we headed over to France where
once again we were graced with
an air conditioned room while we
watched Impressions de France.
This is one of my favourite attractions
in World Showcase.
It's air conditioned... and has seats.
Oh, and there's a movie or something.

This is also on my list of things to check out on my next solo trip.

We stopped in Canada
and watched O Canada, okay?
I always enjoy that show.
Sure it's a nice little plug
of home... but Martin Short
does a pretty good job
of making it entertaining, too.

And it's air conditioned too!

And no matter how hard she tried,
it just would not type letters
corresponding to anything entered.

maybe it's a code you have to break?

I took this photo, because it
encapsulates fathers everywhere,
but especially at Disney:

I actually had my oldest walk on my back on one trip -- it was quite nice.

When he served the appetizer,
he deadpan said. "Bon Appetit, eh?"

That's a pretty good one -- even better that you didn't realize it at first.

I decided that I wanted to soak
in the bath.
I love hotel baths.
Sure, the tub is frequently shallow,
but you can't beat the unlimited
hot water!
I relaxed and kept the water running
for quiet a while.
Eventually, my head grew heavy
and my sight grew dim.
I got out, dried off and headed for bed.

I fell asleep in the jacuzzi tub at Animal Kingdom Kidani. Woke up after like 3 hours.

Did you see it
in this chapter?

I guess Pkondz is sponsoring a festival booth?
