Confirmed Rumor: Disney Vacation Club to Start Giving $200 Gift Card to Resort Guests Who Tour Property

Question for anyone who has ever taken the tour.

If you don't buy that day, do they continue to call and email you non stop, since you need to give them all your information including address for the tour

Considering taking the tour as I have interest but I doubt I will commit that day

Thanks

They did not do that to my DD who did it. The tour was simply discussing the resort and looking at a room..no hard sell or anything.

So i guess Disney can claim who is an owner depending on the situation. I am not a owner when it comes to getting a discount on AP or going up to Top of the World lounge

Having access to those things has nothing to do with being an owner.

Everyone who owns points is an owner. Some owners also have access to perks based on the type of points they own.

One has nothing to do with the other and in this case, it’s for anyone who has not yet purchased points.

Do you know how long it took for your DD to get her gift card after the tour?

Is being an existing member the only restriction? My friend did a tour last year, but hasn't bought in yet. Wondering if she'd be eligible for the gift card if she does another tour during our next trip.

It certainly would not hurt to try and as long as she is not yet an owner, I think she has a good chance of getting it....but you never know!

The t&c I was sent say you cannot have attended an open house tour within the last 12 months. The cast member who made my appointment asked specifically about that.

Has anyone done this in the last week or so? I saw a popular blog site saying DVC is offering a $50 gift card for the tour now.

It has not changed. I booked a tour and the terms are until September 30th. You can easily chat with a DVC tour guide at the DVC website and they will tell you all about it.

Ok thanks. We are going in the end of August/ beginning of September and my parents are going to do it. We are owners already, but they aren’t, so they will just do the tour. So they can book an appointment online then before we go? We are staying at Saratoga so I’m hoping they can just pop over to the preview center one afternoon.

Don’t book the appointment online. Speak to someone directly on chat at the DVC official Disney website. They are the ones who will give the tour. You will want to confirm and ask about the gift card etc with them, then they will book you the tour at any DVC resort. They are very nice. Just make sure they are the ones doing it as you won’t be able to get it since you have DVC already

Apologies if this has been asked. If there are people from 2 different households staying in the same room, can each person book a tour? Or is it one person per reservation? Both non owners.

Are you able to book a tour day of or is this something you need to do in advance? I don't mind booking it in advance but just wanted to know. I also added on some nights at Saratoga before my BLT stay - are tours at all DVC resorts or at a select few? I'd have more flexibility doing the tour from Saratoga.

Yes you can book the tour day of if they have availability, which they usually have. I would do it the day before to be safe. You can cancel, edit, or change the tour at any time with them, if you book in advance. I was told you can tour whatever DVC resort you want. They are really only activity selling at Riviera so they recommend there, but it doesn't matter. Riviera and Saratoga have dedicated DVC spaces so its more " official " if that makes sense when touring there. Better for a presentation etc.

They will pick you up from any resort, and show you any resort during that time.
