Company execs have to say upbeat at annual meetings if they want people to keep buying their stock and not bail out like lemmings off a cliff, but even by those standards, this year's annual meeting of the Walt Disney Co. (in Hartford, CT?!) was more upbeat than most. Here's a summary of news articles about the meeting:
Richard Verrier (in both the Orlando Sentinel and the LA Times reports "Eisner upbeat about Disney's prospects"
Reuters reports "Disney Eyes Improving Theme Park Business" as well as "Disney Shareholders Vote Down 4 Proposals
".
CBS MarketWatch reports "Disney exec: Worst over for ad market" (linked through The Magical Mouse because CBS MarketWatch URLs don't work in vBulletin).
Finally, The Orange County Register has its own wrap-up of events from wire services.
Thanks!
