Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

off the top of my head for non shellfish there was a tuna tataki small bites salad of sorts (forgive the alliteration) a pork belly small bite dish, uncrustables and Mac and cheese for kids (both of which I ate) and I think a few other things - I LOVE shellfish so my attention was not fully committed to non shellfish.
Awesome thank you. I’ll be sneaking the shellfish when my family’s not looking 😂. Mac and cheese for the kids would be amazing. Thanks again!

My kids may want WL cl instead of boardwalk. They love the lobby and tranquility of it. I tried going back to find it but my brain is mush. Can someone give me an idea of what afternoon snacks and evening apps are at the WL. Trying to decide if they would like it over Boardwalk...they are picky carnivores through and through. My 15 yo favorite restaurant is Yachtsman steakhouse lol.

WL CL 12/21-27/19. We weren’t there for every service, and they do follow a weekly menu. The soup pattern was not posted or on sheet in room. Snacks were usually a ham or turkey roll up, veg and dip, diy trail mix, potato or tortilla chips and cookies. Apps had cheese, leftover veg and dip from snack, soup, composed salad (often with chicken), fish/shellfish something and a meat something. Kids seemed to be a lot of pasta and chicken legs rotating. Fish seafood ranged from ceviche, shrimp cocktail, etc. Beef included ribs, brisket, shepard’s pie and similar. Soup was an amazing broccoli, corn chowder, mushroom, etc.

Edited to identify WL.

Thank you! Pasta works too ;)

14 yo ds and dh liked the food, especially ds. However, they did not like that I only scheduled 1 ts adr/day. They requested Yacht Club and Yachtsman for next trip:rotfl2:So very similar to your family.
😂😂teenage boys and their appetites!! We didnt like BC so I didn't even think about the YC. Will have to mention it. When we wat at Ohana's, he eats like it's his last meal lol. He tells everyone he ate 5 pounds of steak🤦‍♀️

A few questions:

1) Trying to find info on the CL FP to decide whether or not it’s right for us. Did they take away the reserved fireworks viewing? We already have the HEA dessert party booked for our last night solely for the view and planned on a couple of After Hours events (VAH and AK) so I’m reluctant to pay an extra $300. But with DHS in such flux right now, I’m wondering if it won’t be worth it just to avoid worrying about refreshing for once.

2) Also concerned about food allergies and the Poly lounge because I’m allergic to tree nuts. Does anyone have experience with how they handle allergies?

On your first question, CLFPs no longer include reserved firework seating. It’s $50 per day per person participating for an additional
3 FPs with no tier restrictions. A minimum of 3 days is required, so a minimum of $150 per person that participates.

As far as allergies, my DS has severe allergies. At both GF CL’s, the chef came out to speak to us to find out his allergies. They were very accommodating. At WL, they just had a folder which showed the ingredients in everything they had out. (Could have changed, though.) Others who have stayed at Poly could probably give you better info., but Disney is amazing with allergies, so I’m sure they’ll be able to help. Have fun.

I've had a long, arduous battle trying to decline MBs in the past year. Just when you thought you had declined it during online check-in, a set of gray bands show up at the front desk. :rotfl2: My MBs that are not super old but at least a year old work just fine. They even pick up the long-distance signals for the Photopass at rides (such as 7DMT).

Anyway, my real reason for being back on this thread is that I booked GDT CL for my DD's 13th. We had such a good trip at AKL CL last year for her birthday, we just had to do Disney again. I will be stalking all GDT CL food porn. @AngiTN can you tell us more about recent offerings? I know when they first opened they had scarmbled eggs and bacon, but I'm not sure they are still offering that.
Breakfasts did have an egg dish, sometimes just scrambled, sometimes had a spanish flair to it
Mickey waffles
Never saw bacon
They had a pastry table and a fruit table.

Dinners were less to my interest.
Meatballs
chicken strips in sauce
And I'm blanking on the rest

We’ll be there for a few days at the beginning of March before heading over to AKL. I’ll make sure to take note of the offerings and post them.

I officially booked. BWI in August. Debated Poly but they only have lagoon view available and the discount was a measly 10%. I'm having a hard time justifying the price, especially when I could stay at the Waldorf for 1300 (I have Hilton friends and family). I still have to run it past dh but I'm already linked in MDE. Now I'm hoping for after hours events when I'm there.

Congrats on booking! BWI CL is amazing, hope you have a great trip. Enjoy the rest of your planning :).

Hi everyone! We were booked in a regular Standard room at the Poly this coming May until the discounts came today and our TA found us Garden View CL for a fantastic AP rate, so we switched! We are super excited, we never thought we would stay CL and this is all new to us. I’ll be celebrating my birthday (it’s the end of May but timing worked better for the beginning of the month) and we are at the upper end of the infamous Childless Millennial demographic, just me and my gf. This is a whole new area of research for me so I hope you don’t mind a lot of silly questions!

I love Poly CL!! Congrats on the discount. Hope you have a great birthday trip :wizard:.

Regarding the CL extra FP stuff, as someone else already said they don't offer the fireworks viewing anymore. I went back and forth about it for my trip coming up (3 more weeks!) and eventually decided to do it just for the heck of it. I really liked calling up at the 90 day mark and having my pick of days and times for any ride I wanted, that being said, my days are very structured with all the FP I have so not a ton of wiggle room....but I do know that if for some reason it's crowded I'm taking care of with all the hard to get FP. My favorite was avoiding the tier system at HS, I have FP for all the tier 1 rides (except swirling saucers, I'm solo and don't enjoy that one alone) and that wouldn't be possible without the paid for FP. I won't be able to say if it's truly worth it until after my trip, but right now I'm really happy I did it.

I don't have experience with food allergies since no one in my family has any, but I would contact DSS ahead of your reservation and let them know to make a note on your account, and remind the CMs at check-in.

Any thoughts on WL CL vs. GF RPC CL (deluxe rooms at both) overall?
I obsessively research Disboards, Youtube, etc. :surfweb: and have stayed at GF RPC (and am going back soon :cloud9:). We'd like to do a deluxe CL room for our early 2021 trip and are possibly open to a deluxe CL room at another resort. I don't think BWI is a match for our kids at this time in our lives, so while they have deluxe rooms, that is out. I understand the obvious differences in resort layout, theming (both are beautiful!), transportation options, location of the deluxe rooms, less and more themed food at WL/ more and more generally appealing food at GF, one less non-DVC pool and no cabanas at WL, I could go on... But that is all factual information, and as we have not stayed at WL, I'd love to hear from people who have actually experienced both.
I know everyone's preferences are different, but I would love to hear opinions from the experts! TIA!!!!! :thanks:

I can't make up my mind, I just can't, I'm 100% torn and need help lol. So we are doing a "land & sea" trip over christmas 2020 and currently have booked to stay WL CL for 5 nights before our cruise. I was going to try and get a BB offer when I'm at BWI later this month, but I looked yesterday and all the CL rooms are booked for our stay so I know with certainty that a discount isn't happening. DH and I decided, because we've done WL during the holiday season before, to branch out and try to get a BB for a CL room at another resort....but we can't make up our minds! My kids get excited about every resort so they're no help, and DH and I narrowed it down to CR, Poly, or BWI. I have my first BWI stay in 3 weeks (going solo), and we have our first Poly stay in July (just DH and I for our anniversary), but since we haven't stayed CL at either (yet) we don't know if we'll like it enough to return for a second trip in a year. So. DH said his requirement is that he can get coffee early without a lot of trouble. I know there the coffee machine in the lounge, but based on my GF stays that's not always available. I Know Cpt. Cooks is 24 hours so that's why we are leaning that way, but I don't know about the other two...and I really don't care lol. Help!! (also, if there is one that is better at Christmas please let me hear your experiences).

We have stayed at both... in a deluxe CL room in December of 2018, and at GF RPC (the deluxe honeymoon/king bed room with either the jacuzzi or soaking tub) in December 2004 and 2019. I haven't done a review yet or posted photos from our 2019 stay, but if you search my posts on this thread and the WL thread you can see photos of our 2018 deluxe CL room and my thoughts on it.

I'm not sure which room(s) you were interested in at GF RPC, but I will say that although we preferred the food offerings at RPC to those at WL (which were still really good, but there just weren't as many items), we really enjoyed having the extra space that the deluxe CL room at WL afforded. I know a lot of people feel that the WL decor is tired and dated, but TBH we really liked it. Call us old fashioned, but my family actually prefers the old school heavy Disney theming...and if you look at my WL photos, you'll see what I mean. Maybe we got lucky, but our room was in perfect shape...and I'm super picky! Now our BC 1BR suite this past December which was supposedly refurbished a lot more recently than WL...don't get me started... :sad2: Anyway, the deluxe CL rooms at WL function more as 1BR suites, as they have sitting area/living room with the pull out sofa bed. The only downside for us (and it may be a positive for you depending on how many kids you have) is that the bedroom has two queen beds instead of one king. Our one and only child is now 18, and since she's been a teenager we have found it's a more pleasant, relaxing, and peaceful stay if we each have our own sleeping area, but YMMV. The WL deluxe CL room, because it offers the separate sleeping area, is one of the best values on Disney property (quite a bit lower price point than any other 1BR suite...not counting DVC 1 BR of course), and as such, they are often difficult to come by...so if you're seriously interested in one and it's actually available, I would urge you to book it NOW and cancel later if you change your mind, because we fell in love with that room category for family trips and yet every time we've tried to book it since that stay it's been sold out.

You mentioned that you pretty much already know all the facts about the two properties and mainly wanted opinions...that one's hard, because preference is such a personal thing. IMHO there are things that are truly wonderful and magical about both resorts. We find the CMs to be welcoming and kind at both RPC and the Old Faithful club, and we love the lounge area at both as well. I will say it was an extraordinarily wonderful experience to be staying in RPC at Christmastime with the lobby all decked out and the smell of gingerbread in the air! Once they get that walkway from GF to MK completed the scale will be tipped heavily towards GF because we prefer walking to the parks to having to take transportation, but until then we will likely go with which resort we can find a better deal at if we're looking to book a MK resort, as we are frequent split stayers and prefer to stay at an EP resort for days we're visting EP and HS.

Hope that helps at least a little! :)

Wow, @reluctantredhead , thank you for that amazingly detailed reply! 😍😍😍 It helps very much!
I am referring to the deluxe rooms at both resorts, although I know the WL deluxe room has the door and the GF deluxe does not. I'm glad (and surprised!) to hear your WL deluxe CL room was in better shape than the 1br at BC! I will definitely look up your WL deluxe CL review from 2018 (I probably have already read it and didn't realize it was yours!), and can't wait to read your GF RPC deluxe CL review from your 2019 stay. I agree, that walkway is going to be AMAZING- my fingers are crossed it's completed for our late April 2020 RPC stay! My husband has a wandering eye for resorts :rotfl2:, but we've been unable to find something we feel could offer us the same benefits as the GF RPC deluxe CL room. Maybe the WL deluxe CL room is worth another look (@GADisneyDad14, I know you said it wasn't as functional for your family as two adjoining rooms would be, and the rooms aren't on the lounge floor, either). And yes, we will certainly book it early if we decide on it.
Did you feel you were 'missing out' on anything being at WL vs. your GF RPC experience? Thank you so much!

I've stayed at all the CLs you mentioned and they are all great in their own way. Our most recent stay was the weekend before Christmas at CR CL (first time at CR) and it was amazing!! The lounge was nice and relaxing, the food offerings were good/quickly replenished, and the CL staff was awesome! I don't think you can go wrong with any of your choices as they are all great. I would maybe choose the one that the theme/décor and/or location appeals to you the most. Good luck and enjoy the planning :).

This group is awesome and so very helpful.

I agree ::yes::
