Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Forgot to post a somewhat unflattering GF pic from a recent stay. Glad renovations are coming as this middle lobby fixture has seen some better days - and hopefully the lobby gets some TLC. I personally don't get all caught up in the idea that GF as the "flagship" resort needs to be perfect in every way - that's an impossible standard, leaks happen, these buildings are certainly aging - but I do think it's fair to say things should just be a little better, IMHO.

When I stayed there in 2018, in a 5th floor deluxe king turrett room I would stand there and look at that. A passing worker asked me if t everything was ok and I asked about it, and they said it is known to leak. At the time they were doing a ton of water damage repair to the outside of the building, I guess they haven't fixed this though.

I really, really hope they have worked on the welcoming factor with the CMs. I remember after my second CL stay at GF in 2019, after another horrible experience being treated like I didn't belong there (even though I obviously paid for it just fine), I was met and escorted back by one of the CL managers who I had already informed that they needed to work on it....he said they would. I guess I'll have to retract my vow at some point that I would never stay GF CL again.

As far as a room/lounge refresh, my friend that works at WDW has let me know that as far as GF goes all attention right now is on turning the one building in to DVC, then on the monoral it'll turn to Poly and the new building. For renovations all attention is going to BWI (thank.GOD!), so it'll still probably be at least another year or more until we see anything with GF. I do think it needs it, but BWI obviously needs it a lot more, at WDW is going to focus on that new DVC building at Poly. She says rumor has it that that building is taking the place in space from the Reflections DVC, which I still think would have been better since it had it's own space and wasn't shoehorned in. Oh well. At least it seems they've at least improved on service a bit, after 2019 I could say they really needed an attitude adjustment more than a room facelift. It's still too expensive though.
A lot of chatter on the GF Information Page this morning about lobby and non dvc room reno- not sure on timeline though, hopefully soon.

Way too common in my opinion. It’s 🤮 and very inconsiderate.
I'm not at all a fan of dishes in the hallway ever, but please don't blame customers. They have been told to do this by CM's.

This is a bit of a long-standing gripe I have about CL's. There is no place to put dirty dishes. Long ago, there was a try in at least some CL's. WDW decided, pre-pandemic- that they were an eyesore. At least that is what I was told.

On the one hand, if someone uses a table, but they move all dishes to a tray, the table won't get wiped. Eww!
On the other hand, if someone brought dishes to their room, but puts dirty dishes on a table, they are making more work for CM's, and taking up a table for no reason. (Nobody else can sit there until it is cleaned.) Ugh.
If dishes are left in the hall, then staff picks them up when they are able to pick them up. Eww! But also makes sense.

There is no good solution.

She said it’s gonna happen, just not as soon as some other stuff (for the rooms anyway). There is stuff that has to be done due to damage, they already worked on some stuff several years ago but it needs more, and they might as well just fix everything. Rooms will come after though, she doesn’t know how far after (not her department, she deals with numbers, she just hears rumors and has friends in other departments), but she knows other projects are “on the block” ahead of it. GF, specifically RPC, is on her bucket list but she doesn’t want to stay there until it gets a refresh, so no one is hoping more than her that it happens sooner rather than later! I, on the other hand, am a BWI gal and just can’t wait for those rooms.

Not lazy.

They are doing what CM's told them to do.
As much as I’m not a fan of dishes in the hallways, we have been instructed by CMs (YC/BC) almost every visit to do just that. I’ve tried bringing them back and was politely asked to leave them in the hallway (likely for the reasons listed above).
On a funny note, I was surprised one morning when someone had consolidated all the dishes in the hallway outside our door. There were over 20 wine glasses, a dozen beer bottles and a large stack of dishes. It looked like we had had one helluva party…lol!

One thing about Polynesian Club Lounge - it’s a somewhat loud and busy room. Compared to the Wilderness Lodge Club lounge (and Animal Kingdom too) where there is more room and cozy places to sit and relax.

We’ve been told to stop by the kitchen and knock and a CM would be happy to take them or to place them on a table that had yet to be cleaned. We have never been told to leave them on the floor outside our room, and usually stay at BC/YC or BWI. Housekeeping thanked us this last time as we were walking down the hall to return our plates on our way back to Epcot. Seems to be another case of not all CMs being on the same page.

I usually take the approach, if I on rare occassion take my stuff to my room, to put my plates on a table that hasn't been cleaned yet. I usually stack everything nice and make it easy for them. I'll never pick a clean table to set it on. When I stayed in my deluxe king room at RPC there was no real hallway, it did have a door to a housekeeping room right there though, and twice I stepped outside and they were like "I can take that!" and that's about the only time I never just walked back and took my plate.

Got my call from Signature Services yesterday! Of course I didn’t need anything since I already had a room request added. But it was nice that they called, I’m now 2 for 3 on pre-calls!
In case anyone is wondering how far in advance, it was 74 days in advance for BWI.

Hey guys!! For those that will be there this month, would you please take a picture of the Activity Calendar for me please for the monthly calendar thread?! I’d truly appreciate it!! Thanks in advance guys, have a great trip!

Just got back from a GREAT stay at the Boardwalk Cottages where I can confirm with 100% assurance that the cottages do get club level access!

They walked us down to the cottages and showed us the two different elevators that my parents would have to use because of their rollators. My husband and I just used the stairs to get to the bus stop and Boardwalk though.

It was a little bit of a pain to get to the lounge from the cottages, but it was worth it to my husband and I. We were the second cottage so it was easier to take the elevator as opposed to the fire entrance/stairs that I heard was possible. Plus we didn't really feel like climbing 4 flights of stairs after all that walking at the parks.

We went there most afternoons, dinners and desserts. Only did breakfast the last two days as we are rope droppers and had to be on our way to the parks by the time they started serving.

Snacks were just bags of chips and popcorn, some cookies and fruit, but we would go get a refill of water or some soft drinks. Our favorite dinner options were the balsamic pork, the shrimp scampi (oddly enough), the chicken boa buns, and the short ribs.

Our dinner rotation was:

Mac and Cheese
Shrimp Scampi
Balsamic Pork

Chicken Alfredo
Salmon and veggies
Chicken Boa

Beefy mac and cheese
A clam and pasta dish
Short ribs with pickled veggies

My parents did not take advantage of the lounge that often though. They thought the walk once you got up to the 4th floor was "one corridor too many" so they only went a couple of times.

The cast members were all extremely friendly without being annoying.

There was an incident of some sort while we were there. Two women were at the desk and as we walked by the cast member said they could file a police report if they wanted to. She replied that she didn't know what good it would do as it was clearly an internal Disney matter. I assumed it was a mousekeeping issue, but for the remainder of our trip, there were two security guards patrolling the corridors of the 4th floor. It was a little disconcerting, but since we weren't in that building we weren't too bothered. Maybe someone took too much advantage of the evening drinks and got disruptive??

I would definitely do club level here again. The cottages were really lovely. Just not sure I can justify that price though...
