Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Thanks

Did you do online check in and how did you arrive? We will be driving in this time and I am not sure of the procedure. We haven't stayed CL or at the WL since 2008. So I would like a "tour" of the new lounge.

We will be arriving late morning from the Legoland portion of our trip, we may also have groceries for the rest of our group that is not staying CL (but at WL) and arriving later on ME. Since I want to get the car returned to the Car Care Center after checking in, if our room isn't ready would Bell Services still be the ones taking care of our luggage? Will they hold our groceries too? It will be dry goods and water, not a huge amount, but still I don't want to impose. I know these questions seem silly, but I like knowing the procedure ahead of time.

A little off topic but has anyone returned a car to the Car Care Center. We have an Alamo rental and there is supposed to be a shuttle. I am thinking it would be best if just one of us returned it and the other stayed at the hotel and swam with DD or had lunch etc. I am guessing this would take at least an hour?

I don't think I could do a split stay. I dislike planning this transitioning. :-) Okay, I dislike the thought of explaining all the logistics to my DH who travels multiple times a month for work, but the whole Disney planning just makes his eyes glaze over. o_O

I did do online check in and we arrived via our personal vehicle. However, our room was not ready when we arrived and bell services held our luggage until it was. We had some dry goods and water and it wasn't an issue at all.

Your last statement has me ROFL. :rotfl2:

Check-in/greeting experiences can vary. There was no greeter at WL when we went in November, we checked-in at the front desk. I think we were then escorted up to the lounge and they did a very brief tour, but it was very quick and not with a CL CM. I was not given any CL paperwork or anything like that. There's a poster there now who I think said they were greeted out front, not sure where they checked in. So your mileage may vary!

That was me. I did online check in. I assume the guard radioed in when we got there and the CM came out to greet us.

Now we are driving somewhere in GA and I am so sad. :( I want to turn around and go back!

I guess it doesn't help to say that I'm on a plane in ATL waiting to take off to MCO, does it? Hope you had a great trip!

The photos I see of the Geyser Point Bar & Grill have me all :flower1::flower1:.

ETA: Thanks for your WL posts this week, BTW! Would love to hear your overall thoughts when you get back.

Does anyone have experience of dealing with food allergies when staying CL? DH has been diagnosed with a gluten intolerance and I need to note this on all of our dining reservations but can't figure out how to do this on ones I've already booked. Could what used to be IPO help with this and will they note it on the room reservation to help with lounge service?

I had no problem with CL and being GF. All my ADR's were noted but the lounge did not know that. I just spoke to the CM's and the chef and they prepared food for me without the gluten.
So one night there was a dish that had something on it which had gluten. The chef went ahead and prepared me the dish without it. He also brought me out GF donuts (4 of them!) and continued to do so the rest of the evenings I was in the lounge.
They were extremely nice and helpful. Always asking what else I would like.
Have a great time!

Don't read if you don't want spoilers.

Just watched HEA from our Poly TPV room. I was worried as heck that it would be a projection based show with firework compliments, making the TPV room viewing experience less desirable.

I was wrong. Show had a TON of pyro, seems like more than Wishes. Lots of interesting colors and different types of fireworks. The view and "show" from here were just as good as always. A couple of "slow" moments in between components where you don't quite know what's going on, but Wishes had a bit of that too.

Volume from the speakers in front of Hawaii was a touch low. Could have been a couple of notches higher for a bit better experience. I had grown OK with that for Wishes because I knew what it was about, but for this I wanted to hear a bit better. Not terrible though.

I walked to the lounge half-way through just to see how that was going. Music volume was decent, lights not dimmed (which is normal, but I wish they would). Lounge was pretty full. First time I've ever seen CMs actually stop to watch the show, which was cool. Everyone was intrigued.

There were some elements I missed (eg, Jiminy Cricket), but it had some interesting generational cross-over. Still stuff that appeals to me and my childhood, and a few things that appeal directly to someone my son's age (eg, Elena, Moana). I'm sure that's Disney's goal. It was cool to see DS's reaction when he realized there was a Moana part. He was sold.

Anyway, just wanted to post a quick report. Tomorrow we're planning on watching from the Garden Viewing dessert party in MK, so we'll get the close-up experience to contrast with this.

Let me know if you have any questions!

BTW, made it here just in time for evening apps, which were very good. They are continuing the "small plate" concept with nice, higher-quality bite sized items. Yum. Similar to my Feb experience. Still WAY better than year's past.

This is sounds so great! Thank you! I also ended up renting a cabana for half a day just to have a home base in the afternoon. We are also going to eat the Twilight Feast and cake so that would make it somewhat less stressful if we already had a place.

Thanks for the info on the fireworks.

Couple of photos from my room. I'm on the second floor towards the lounge side of the building. First time I've had a second floor TPV room (I knew my third floor luck would run out sometime!).

Photos aren't that great, sorry. The good ones won't post without re-sizing.

Thinking about our July trip to YC CL. Our plan is to arrive at 7am (staying at local friend's house the night before), check in, have some breakfast and then head to Epcot for rope drop. I'm assuming our room will not be ready, so what happens to our luggage? And if we head back to resort in the early afternoon to swim, if our room still isn't ready will we have access to our swim stuff? Or will I need to keep that in a backpack or in our car?

I'm crying just thinking about the Moana part of HEA... I still can't get through the soundtrack without a lip quiver here or there, lmao. Hope it's visible from the Old Faithful Club balconies!

Quick WL report...

The wine/cheese selections tonight were:

Assorted sushi nigiri with pickled ginger and wasabi

Antipasto platter with house made dips

Bread service and dip

Lemon chicken garden vegetable salad

Potato chowder

Vegetable samosas with cucumber yogurt

PB&J

Baked pasta

Just wanted to give everyone an idea of the types of things they have here!

Thanks for the updates! If there's sushi on our upcoming trip (in just a week!!!) I am going to do cartwheels across the carpeted hall (before proceeding to gorge on nigiri...) :cloud9:

You can leave your luggage with bell services. They will let you access it before your room is ready & then restore it too. So you can get your swim stuff out when you are ready, maybe just make sure you pack that to be easy to get out so you're not digging thru everything looking for a suit or sunscreen.

Well, it's our last night at the YC. :guilty: Just passed thru the lounge quickly on our way to dinner. The hot apps were mac & cheese bites & pulled pork with polenta.

Cold apps were the loaded potatoe salad, the mixed olives & some kind of tuna small bite plate. There was also 1 more salad, I think it was the tomato & opinion thing. Sorry, I was kind of rushing thru & didn't mark it down, I'm old & can't remember everything anymore, lol!

Breakfast this morning had chocolate chip mini muffins, apple danish & the coffee cake. Every day has oatmeal & grits plus toppings, 3 cold cereals, several varieties of bagels & bread for toasting, cut watermelon, cantaloupe & stawberry/ blueberry mix, hard boiled eggs, cheese slices, 2 cold meats like turkey, ham, roast beef, salami or salmon & whole apples, bananas, & oranges & yogurt. The pasties vary daily.

My experience with DSS so far:

Emailed them our room requests (higher floor, early room if possible, early housekeeping because my parents nap like toddlers...) and inquired about potentially ordering one of those cute mini tier cakes I saw over on the cake thread for my mom's bday.

Requests were forwarded to WL CL, but with regards to the cake I got the gratuitous Disney Floral and Gifts link. Emailed back saying a generic Mickey cake wouldn't do and attached pictures of the mini cakes for reference. Second reply was something along the lines of *ignores cake pictures* "You can order chocolate-covered strawberries from Private Dining once you're there!" Granted, that is a good idea, but the whole point is to have something waiting there for her when we arrive...

Does anyone have any experience ordering cakes (or like, special stuff like this) through DSS? Realizing now I should probably cross-post this on the cake thread.

Btw, all their replies have been really nice and cordial. They're just clearly being told to push Disney Floral and Gifts (which is a shame, because all their offerings just seem so tacky and poorly curated, imo...)
