Doing July a Whole New Way...

So next up we introduced Cary to...

DSCF0231.jpg

And he didn't hate it...I knew we liked him for some reason!

And for your viewing pleasure...too bad there's no sound, right?

Hey, hey, hey! It's been a while...but I've been really busy! We have moved, bought a new car, been running for dance classes and extra rehearsals for a duet and a solo, picked and ordered Tyler's senior pictures, I'm still working 10-14 hours a day, everyone has been sick (except Tyler) but it has been REALLLLLL sick!, and planning for our summer dance trip! AND...I just got our photopass pictures form this trip so I am going to get caught up with those right here....

And BAMM, we're caught up! My problem is, I don't have any of my other details with me at work and I'm not sure where they are at home soooo...I'm gonna leave this here for today and look for my notes/receipts tonight. But I do have a pre-trip to work on also...

So let's finish everyone's favorite doll cruise...

DSCF0257.jpg

DSCF0258.jpg

DSCF0259.jpg

And the ending said a personal goodbye to us!

DSCF0261.jpg

After we got off our tour, we headed towards the Tangled Bathrooms and it was still pretty un-crowded back there!

DSCF0263.jpg

We pretty much walked through the Haunted Mansion line while playing with all the "toys"...

DSCF0264.jpg

...and had a quick spin with the 999 Happy Haunts.

After that we headed back into Fantasyland. I was heading to the fast pass kiosk to see what I could get since we did Haunted Mansion so quickly and early, I had a fast pass to change out. But everyone else stopped to hang with this guy...

DSCF0265.jpg

Apparently he dug around in Skye's bun asking her what she had hidden in there and discussing Tink's bun and all she hides in hers. They said he and Skye talked for quite a while about that and her brother.

I was able to get Peter Pan fast passes for later. After that we walked over to see how the lines for princesses were.

Skye tried to pull the sword out of the stone but it did not happen...

DSCF0270.jpg

And jumped in the line for princesses.

DSCF0271.jpg

DSCF0273.jpg

In about ten minutes we were in visiting with Rapunzel!

They were both very fun and talkative. I think Rapunzel was asking Skye if her brother sewed all the sequins on her skirt because Pascal does all her flowers.

As we walked outside we found these guys...

DSCF0278.jpg

...just hanging out enjoying the day. They were interacting with each other and guests. They were fun to watch.

When the fireworks went off for the castle stage show, they all got scarred!

DSCF0279.jpg

The man was running around sceaming about the sound and did not know what it was or where it was coming from and the girl was following him trying to catch him and calm him down. We were laughing as we headed towards lunch.

It was 11am and we were hungry. We headed to Columbia Harbour House. There was only a few other people in there since it had just opened. We grabbed a menu while waiting for the people in front of us to complete their order. We had some discussion about sharing drinks again. UGH! But the cashier heard us and told us we could get one free refill on our large drink. This sounded odd to me but what do I know??? So we ordered and the kids and I headed upstairs for our favorite table.

DSCF0283.jpg

DSCF0284.jpg

We got 3 chicken breast nuggets d fish means...served with coleslaw and steamed fresh vegetables, apple slices or french fries...they all chose fries. (and we were only charged for two of these and one fish platter???)

DSCF0280.jpg

They all liked their food. We actually probably could have done with only two because everyone left stuffed and we took some away with us! Nothing was greasy and everything tasted fresh.

I had the Lobster Roll with potato chips...

DSCF0281.jpg

That's a lot of meat. I loved this sandwich. Normally I get the tuna sandwich here but I was glad I chose this one this time! I am not crazy about chips to start with but they were ok. Skye ate a lot of them though and I ate more of her fries.

They all came with a little cup of coleslaw too...

DSCF0282.jpg

I am not a lover of coleslaw but I tried it and it wasn't bad. Cary liked it but the rest went to the garbage can...the kids wouldn't think of touching it. I keep trying to get Skye to try it because she loved purple cabbage in a salad but so far, not gonna happen.

We also ordered a large coke and a large sprite.

All in all, we had a great meal with a lot of food, even some to snack on later. It was not crowded when we arrived but was starting to get that way by the time we left.

As we were leaving Cary went to get our refills and was told they did not do that. That's what I though but the cashier told us we could get them. Cary told that CM that and she yelled to the cashier who agreed that she did say that so we walked out with refills. I don't know why she told us we did. She did not have an "earning my ears" tag on...maybe she was just pixie dusting us because she heard me trying to convince them we'd be ok sharing but since she was not the one who would be giving the refill it was kind of an odd thing to promise. In the end it worked out but still...

Our total here was $57.03. That's a lot for CS food in the real world but it was a lot of food and we're not in the real world so...

After lunch it was starting to get more crowded. Everything was starting to get long lines. We headed towards Frontierland.

DSCF0285.jpg

And around to Adventureland.

DSCF0286.jpg

At this point my stomach started to hurt (which is not unusual for me but definitely not enjoyable in the heat and at Disney World!). The line for Pirates was not showing so we were going to head in there but I needed a rest room and by the time I got out (which was not very long!) the lone was out the building. SO we kinda hung around hoping it was just something minor holding up one side or something and maybe it would clear out quickly. It was really getting hot out so I had a seat on the ground for a bit.

DSCF0287.jpg

And we took matching shoe pics...

DSCF0288.jpg

And pics around Pirates...

DSCF0289.jpg

The kids did two pirate treasure hunts and Cary and I found a seat in the shade while they ran around Adventureland locating the booty!

After a while it was time for our 12:35pm - 1:35pm fast passes for Big Thunder Mountain so we headed that way. We still has a small wait of about 7 minutes in line but soon we were riding the wildest ride in the west. Skye was still insisting on sitting with me so I could hold her into the car...crazy kid!

When we were done there we decided to head back to Pop to relax. So we jumped on the train in Frontierland and took it around to Main Street. We had not ridden the train in a while so it was a fun trip. Then we headed up Main Street and out to a bus to Pop. One pulled up with minimal wait time and we were back at Pop quickly. We were four of only a few on the bus.

We decided ice cream sounded good so we stopped at Everything Pop.

We decided to share an Everything Pop Sundae...six flavors of ice cream and multiple toppings.

DSCF0300.jpg

DSCF0301.jpg

DSCF0302.jpg

It had ice cream, gummy worms, bananas, marshmallows, M&Ms, crumbled cookies, brownies and pop tarts topped with whipped cream and caramel sauce with a cherry on top! Who woulda though throwing everything you had laying around the kitchen on top of ice cream would be a good thing?!?!?! Well it was a very good thing! Skye moaned a bit about sharing as she had her own ideas in mind but she ended up pleased with the end result. We were the first one made of the day. Everyone loved it...there was something for everyone in it!

We would order this again in a heart beat! Our total was $11.39 and well worth every penny!

After our snack we headed to the room to change.

DSCF0303.jpg

I have no pool pictures this time. We hung at the pool until about 4pm when we headed back for showers. When we were all ready to go we walked over to Art of Animation for dinner at Landscape of Flavor. I had heard great things about the food here and when we checked it out the day before it sounded intriguing.

It was a bit crowded but not too crazy. We took a while looking around at the offerings that night and all made our decisions...which mostly ended up being in different places of course!

Cary got the Barbeque Pork Sandwich...shredded pork on a bun with chipotle barbecue sauce with choice of two sides...both of which he got as Caesar Salad...

DSCF0304.jpg

The bun the sandwich was on was hard as a rock when they handed it to him so he asked if he could have a different one and they just handed him another bun. OK??? He really liked the sandwich once he put the meat on the soft bun and he and Skye loved the salads anywhere they got them!

Tyler got the Meatball Sandwich...on Ciabatta with choice of two sides...which he chose chips and Caesar salad for Skye. He did not like any of the other sides and knew he didn't need that many chips. He loved his sandwich. Huge meatballs and a lot of cheese. The bun was soft. He did end up needing a fork because it was messy to eat. He also got a cinnamon roll (which it does not look like he was charged for). He has not met a cinnamon roll he has not liked so it was good.

DSCF0305.jpg

I got the Tandoori Chicken ... with Naan bread, eggplant, multigrain rice, and greens.

DSCF0306.jpg

This was really good! And different...especially got a CS venue. The chicken was tender and there was enough of it under the piece of Naan. The Naan was soft and warm. The eggplant was cooked perfectly and I could easily scrape it out of the shell. The rice and greens were really flavorful. Usually I can take or leave multigrain rice but this was really good. And I don't usually get greens because no one else will eat them. Cary tried my chicken but otherwise I did not have to worry about anyone else wanting to share...this is not their thing! But it was mine. I would live to try Saana some day but I fear no one else will eat if we go there...they are so weird! But this is definitely something I would love to get again.

Skye decided on the Kid's Mac & Cheese with grapes, a chocolate chip cookie and a fruit punch.

DSCF0307.jpg

The mac & cheese was a baked variety with bread crumbs on top, They asked her if she wanted the rest of the crumbs that had fallen into the pan because she had the last serving in the pan and she had them put them in a cup for her. She is a mac & cheese connoisseurs and this was different than the regular soupy mac & cheese (she loves that kind too) and she was very happy. Cary tasted it and said it was really good!

We used our mugs to get pop...which of course Cary and Tyler fought about.

We had a great meal at Landscape of Flavor and would return anytime we are at Pop or in the area for sure!

Out total here was $40.11.

After dinner we hopped a bus from AoA back to the Magic Kingdom and arrived around 7:46pm.

DSCF0308.jpg

We had missed out Peter Pan fast passes when we chose to go back to swim so while we were on the bus ride I though I had gotten fast passes for Buzz so we headed that way.

DSCF0309.jpg

DSCF0310.jpg

But when we got there, we weren't turning green. So somehow, I hadn't completed the transaction and we did not have any. The stand by was too long so we walked around to see what was what and I was able to get Dumbo fast passes while walking. Tyler is an elephant freak so Dumbo is always a favorite! So we headed that way!

DSCF0311.jpg

DSCF0312.jpg

See that poncho in Skye's hand in that pic above...ya, there was a reason for that...it was getting ready to rain!

DSCF0313.jpg

We got all the way to Dumbo and it was down for lightning! BOO!!! But we were given an "anything fast pass" except for the Mine Train. So we headed out...

DSCF0314.jpg

We decided to use the pass on Ariel.

DSCF0315.jpg

And walked right on. Did we really need the fast pass? Probably not but it probably saved us 10 minutes.

When we got off it was pouring.

DSCF0316.jpg

DSCF0317.jpg

They made an announcement that the Main Street Electrical Parade was cancelled for the night.

We were able to just about walk right onto Pirates...

DSCF0318.jpg

And then got a great spot right in front of the Castle for the show and Wishes! They all said we were too close!

And I know I have a lot more and better pics on my phone that I have not loaded to photobucket yet so I need to get to that especially seeing as they cancelled Wishes all together! When I do I will post them for sure! I was actually surprised as the good pics I got on my phone.

Here's a rare one of me and Cary from earlier that I missed...

image.jpg

And a non-so-rare-one of Skye on the bus that morning...

image_2.jpg

After Wishes ended we took our time waling to the bus stop looking through the shops on Main Street.

A bus was at the stop when we arrived and we got on...standing room only. Of course they all moaned about it and this is the one park I hate standing for the ride home because it is the furthest and it always seems those drivers take corners like there is no one on their bus but really, in most cases, what difference does it make if we are standing on the bus or at the bus stop?

So we got back to Pop and headed to Everything Pop for a snack. Tyler took off Pokemoning while Cary and Skye grabbed snacks. We ended up with a sugar cookie for me and Skye to share...

DSCF0321.jpg

and a Cherry Tart for Cary...

DSCF0322.jpg

Sugar cookies are probably my favorite and this one was good...but I could have liked some milk. Cary's tart was really good! He and I really likes it. Skye doesn't eat stuff like that!

Our total was $8.29.

We took our goodies and headed to the room (where we ate them). On the way we say this little guy...

DSCF0323.jpg

He just sat there letting us look at him. Didn't seem the least bit scared.

We got back to the room and munched and eventually Tyler came back and we all crashed!

So, Sunday July 17, 2016 dawned for us around 7am. We all got up and showered and then headed to fill up our mugs at 9:17am. At 9:23am we were at our bus stop. It had a bus time board but it was not on. At 9:24am a bus pulled in.

IMG_1388.jpg

At 9:40am we arrived at Disney's Hollywood Studios!

After stopping for some pictures we headed around to use our first fast passes of the day and on the way stopped for more pictures.

We had return times of 9:35am - 10:35am and we arrived right at 10am. We rode and had a great time! Love that ride...just wish it was a bit longer!

After that we were a little early for our next fast passes so we headed up to Starring Rolls for some breakfast.

We ended up woth an M&M brownie (Skye)...

DSCF0325.jpg

A Napoleon (me)...

DSCF0326.jpg

A Butterfinger Cupcake (Ty)...

DSCF0327.jpg

And a Cheese Danish (Cary)...

DSCF0328.jpg

And two apple juices. Tyler would carry 4 frozen waters each day in his backpack. Skye loved her brownie but it was very huge and very chocolaty so she could not finish it...and we did not even try to carry it with us, with the heat it would have been an absolute mess by later! Cary loved his Danish but what's not to like? It was one of the freshest cheese danish I have ever tasted! My Napoleon was really good and light. Cary liked it too! And Tyler made a good dent in his cupcake but didn't finish. And that's saying something because he's not really a chocolate cake kid. We were able to grab a table for four just as someone else got up but it didn't have an umbrella so only two of the seats were in the shade of the building but at least we could sit to enjoy our food. It was quite crowded out there. And I know you are all wondering why the cinnamon roll freak didn't get a cinnamon roll right? Well, they were out of them!!!! He almost has a two year old style melt down! They were not sure when they would have more. He was not happy. He liked his cupcake but would have preferred a cinnamon roll. I thought it odd that on a Sunday morning in July they would be out of cinnamon rolls so early. But we enjoyed our breakfast sugar.

Our total was $24.76.

After breakfast we headed to use our 10:35am - 11:35am fast passes for Star Tours. We love this ride. Last time we were a bit upset that we pretty much went the same places each time. This time we got different ones but each time we rode we went places we had already been. As we were walking in Darth Vader came out on the stage next to the line for the Jedi Training and Cary had to be shoved along...LOL! I had to tell him he was too big to fight Vader. We pretty much walked right through the line and were right on.

After our ride, we walked around to the right and who's line to you think we saw with a time of 10 minutes??? Only THE meet and greet Skyler has been waiting for her whole life!!!

DSCF0329.jpg

See her Disbounding? Know who she is???

DSCF0330.jpg

DSCF0331.jpg

DSCF0333.jpg

It was actually a little less than 10 minutes but with the heat even in the shave with a couple of fans blowing it sure did feel longer! But soon enough we were meeting and greeting!

wdw2016199511643661_396795759327.jpg

She was one happy girl after that! Her room is blue with Olaf (and of course chickens and of course CHiChi (the most important chicken) hates Olaf because he's jealous that Skyler likes him so much...yes, these things really go on at our house!) and we had heard that he was meeting since we were there last so she was really excited to meet him! It was a cute set up in there too.

After Olaf, we headed to our last fast passes for the Frozen Sing Along. Tyler tries not to sing along but never gets very far!

I have a pic of Skye here and I thought I uploaded it to photobucket but I guess I didn't so as soon as I do I will edit...it was a fun show as always and Tyler and Cary both know all the words to all the songs, I assure you. It is really rather funny too. We had the same two story tellers we have had before and they are hilarious!

After Frozen, we headed up to the front of the park and Skye got caught by her friend again...

DSCF0334.jpg

and I believe we were a bad, or maybe good because we have always found this funny and a great pic to get every time as Skye grows up, influence. A little girl, maybe 2 or 3 was watching Skyler and giggling her head off and made her dad take her picture in the same pose as Skye after we were done...it was cute!

wdw2016199511705698_7746912878.jpg

and used the force...yes, that is what we are doing not Karate!

The force didn't work so we had to head out to the bus stop for our next destination.

So, at 1:30pm we were on our bus. We didn't wait long and were some of the few on it. We were heading to Port Orleans French Quarter. It was our transfer stop. We were hoping to hop on a boat to Disney Springs but while we were on the bus is started lightning-ing out so I was pretty sure the boats were not running. So I made us stay at the bus stop and wait. While discussing it some other people walked up and hear us talking about it and confirmed they did indeed just come from the boat dock where they were not running any boats for the time being. This was a longer wait...like 15 minutes for a bus but we were not in any hurry so we just grabbed a seat on the bench and relaxed.

Finally a bus came and we toll the long way around to Disney Springs. The last time we were there was New Years Day and it was still under a lot of construction and it was crazy packed...it was actually the most crowded place/time we had on our Christmas and New Years trip. This time is was beautiful! Wide and open and not crowded at all. We really enjoyed ourselves.

DSCF0336.jpg

We headed over to The Marketplace for lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express. Our order was placed at 2:25pm.

DSCF0338.jpg

DSCF0339.jpg

We ordered and grabbed a nice window seat after we got our drinks (we each got our own this time)...

DSCF0340.jpg

DSCF0341.jpg

It was not very crowded at all and it was nice and cool inside so we did not venture to an outside table. Our food was brought out in about 10 minutes.

I ordered the Margherita Pizza...Fresh Mozzarella, plum Tomatoes, Basil.

DSCF0342.jpg

It was super good! The idea was for me and Skye to share. This pizza might have been my favorite in all of Disney!

Skye for the Caesar Salad...Parmesan, Tomato Crostini, Caesar Dressing.

DSCF0343.jpg

I of course got the Tomato Crostini and it was super good Bruschetta on there! It was a basic salad but between that and the pizza, it was plenty to share for us and not too bad a meal on the health meter.

Tyler and Cary both got the Spaghetti & Chicken Meatballs...with Basil, Parmesan.

DSCF0344.jpg

It was a huge portion and the meatballs were giant. The last time we had this here (a very long time ago) we had one big mush of a meatball in the middle of the pasta and it was disgusting! Like maybe not cooked all the way??? This time it was a few meatballs and they were well formed and cooked all the way. Tyler is a recent meatball lover and he scarfed them down and loved them. Didn't even realize they were chicken. Both of the guys practically licked their plates. And wouldn't let us have any!

We took our time eating and it gradually got a bit more crowded as we sat there. We had our drinks refilled a few times (a waiter comes around asking if you need refills or anything else).

We absolutely loved our meal here and we will come back I am sure.

Our total for this meal was $69.55 so not a cheap counter service but really not much more than our Everything Pop meal on arrival day but a much, much better one in quality and quantity!

So at 4:44pm we stopped at Ghirardelli for ice cream...

We got a 2 scoop goblet with mint chocolate chip and just plain chocolate chip and one with cookie dough and cookies and cream to split.

It was stupid crowded in there with people hijacking tables and chairs all over the place. We managed to find one tiny table squished in the corner that had three chairs at it. Skye sat on my knee and we watched a fight almost happen when a very large family snagged all the chairs that were free but did it including form a table someone was sitting at and saving for the rest of their family without even asking if they could take it. This place to too little for the crowds it gets. I assume they figure people get it and keep walking but a lot of their menu would not be conducive to eating on the go so I don't know what they were thinking making that place with so little seating area.

I though I had pictures but if not, you all know what ice cream looks like. They were large scoops so it was plenty for all of us to share...although I did get some feed back about sharing again!

Our total here was $13.95.

We did a lot mow window shopping and hanging out. We got all the way down to the West Side in our trek to the Harley Store and the Coke Store and I am sure ice cream was before them even though I didn't post it that way.

At 6:30pm we stumbled upon Superstar Catering (a food truck) and decided to munch.

The kids and I were able to grab a small table near the ledge. These are bar height tables with no chairs but up near the high cement ledge for some seating. And they are right aith great views!

DSCF0364.jpg

Cary got an Angry Orchard to drink and the rest of us were bottled Coke and Sprite (plus water t with us).

DSCF0365.jpg

DSCF0366.jpg

You can see Skye's cool Coke bag...she loved it and still has it in her room I think.

Cary and I shared the Zingy Mojo Pulled Pork.

DSCF0367.jpg

OMG! This was one of the best things we ate the whole trip! It's yellow rice, beans, pulled pork, sour cream, diced avocado, tomatoes, and green onions. It was all perfect and we had no problem cleaning that tray!

The kids shared a Pepperoni Flatbread.

DSCF0368.jpg

This was actually really good too! And just big enough to share for a snack. You can see Tyler's fuel rod on the table in that pic. I don't think I mentioned this. I had heard about these before our trip so this was something he got as soon as we arrived...hunting Pokémon really drains your battery! And even though we have at least two other external battery chargers, he loved this. Whenever he was low, he'd charge his phone then when we were near an exchange pod, he'd change it out for a full one. There are not nearly enough places to do that at yet but for the most part they were convenient. A lot of times if it wasn't close to where we were, he'd go off and exchange it and then meet up with us. The only trouble we had was in Disney Springs where one pod wasn't working and even the people working did not know what to do since they don't actually own the machines. But for the most part, it was well worth the money. Oh, and speaking of money, you need a credit card to get it from the machine.

Anyway, back to our snack. We took our time and relaxed for a while while eating. We really enjoyed this food too. I would highly recommend this place. It did take about 15 minutes from order to being called to pick up our food though. I assume things are mostly made to order because everything was super hot and fresh. Not like it had been sitting around waiting for someone to take it out from under the heat lamp.

Our total here was $36.00.

We walked around some more...there is so much to see here now! Skye could live at the Vera Bradley store, the UGG Store, the MAC Store, etc...you get the picture!

DSCF0369.jpg

DSCF0370.jpg

And we stumbled upon Sprinkles...

DSCF0371.jpg

While we love cupcakes, that wasn't the only draw...this was...

DSCF0372.jpg

The line was slow moving but we waited. It was probably 15-20 minutes. We looked at the options available thru the ATM and made out choices.

And since I was so bad at taking notes I don't know what they were. I think Tyler's was Red Velvet, Cary's was strawberry (maybe), and I know Skyler's was a Sprinkle (which was white cake with white frosting completely covered with sprinkles!). No one ate them at the time but We all dug into Cary's later that evening. It was really good. We put the other two in the fridge and ate the other two the next day. Skyler's was really good and my favorite of the three. I am not big on red velvet but Tyler loved it so he enjoyed his. I don't have my receipt from the ATM here but each cupcake was just over $5.

It was a fun novelty getting a cupcake form an ATM machine. Now we've done it I would go back for sure but I'd probably drag them away form the ATM and head insude to see what other sugary delights are on the offer!

I am guessing our total here was about $16.00.

We added the cupcakes to Skye's Coke bag and headed on. We ran into a huge crowd at one point and wondered what it was. Well, we found out and had a little fun!

They were very cool!

On our way again, a family was staring at something in the ground near a garden block. We were heading right their way and the dad told us to watch our step so we didn't step on it. We had no idea what he was talking about. Why is he so concerned with stepping on a leaf??? And if it is his favorite leaf in all the world why doesn't he just pick it up and take it with him??? Well, turns out, it wasn't a leaf!!!

DSCF0385.jpg

It's a slug! None of us had ever seen one before. Well, maybe we had and we just thought it was a leaf?!?!?! It was so cool and gross all at the same time.

It was getting late and we were getting tired so we turned around after a bit more window shopping and ran into these guys!

DSCF0386.jpg

DSCF0387.jpg

They were not as much fun at the silver guys though. They pretty much just stood there. The silver guys were playing around with people and poses. Still very cool though!

We found the bus stop and did not have to wait long...well not as long as usual. I usually avoid Disney Springs bus rides because the wait to get on them is horrendous! It wasn't too bad this time and we were able to get seats on a pretty full bus so it worked for us!

We had a great day at Disney Springs today...especially compared to our New Years Day fiasco the last time we were there!

When we arrived back at Pop, they all needed food. I was too tired to need food. And somewhere along the way in the past day or two I got the Disney Rash on both of my lower legs! I have never had this happen in all my trips to Disney before and it sucked! We did not know what it was exactly until we got home and I did some research. And it was bad. It covered my whole lower legs mostly and it was red and puffy and super itchy. Itchy like make your leg bleed if you scratched it! I didn't know what it was or how I got it or what to do to make it go away! I always travel with Benadryl but it knocks me out so I could only take it at night. SO we got back to Pop and Tyler went hunting. I took off for the room and took a cool shower (which did seem to help) and got into bed with my feet on a pillow.

They came back with a family sized pepperoni pizza. Ya, at this point I am surprised they haven't turned into pizza but they love it!
It took about 15 minutes to get the pizza but they just sat and watched cartoons in the dining area till they were called.

I don't have a pic but I am sure you know what it looked like.

They checked out at 9:09pm. It was $16.50.

Tyler seemed to smell it and returned shortly after they did. I passes (but after Cary was done and pulled out his cupcake I did help him with that!) but the three of them demolished the pizza as if they hadn't eaten all day!

We watched some TV after food and we all crashed before 11pm.

Our 4th day in The World (July 18, 2016) started with standing room only on a bus at 7:31am heading to Animal Kingdom.

We arrived at 7:49am.

And it was up and running! Tyler hates this ride but will ride. I'm not sure if he's really that scared on it or if he does it just for us because we find it so funny how he rides it...

DSCF0420.jpg

So, "how does Tyler ride exactly?" you ask? Well here, check it out...

No, no, can't see it well enough...here, let me bring it closer...

wdw2016200512201684_396797558615.jpg

And let me explain in case the picture does not do a good enough job. He makes his sister who is 5 years younger and tons smaller than him ride on the side by the scary carnitore. Then he tries to crawl into whomever is next to him's arm pit. We find it hilarious. I mean, the dinos scare me at the end of this ride but I am certainly not crawling someplace like that! LOL...

Tyler refused to ride. I don't get it and I don't understand him. He's been on it before and has liked it but he would not ride with us at all. We had a great ride with the Yeti and met him outside. This was our first fast pass for the day and the return time was 9:30am - 10:30am.

wdw2016200512216451_396797560864.jpg

After our great ride where we walked right on we kept following around through Asia.

DSCF0427.jpg

The monkeys were elusive today.

We decided we were hungry so we stopped at Yak & Yeti. It was 10:17am but they were open and serving. While Cary ordered and waited we went to find a seat. There was plenty of tables some with umbrellas, some under shade and some in the sun. I always hear people talking about the lack of seating here but I thought there was a lot??? Maybe they've added more or maybe you just have to eat there at 10am! We found a table in the shade and grabbed napkins and forks and waited for Cary.

DSCF0428.jpg

We shared the Teryiaki Beef Bowl...Marinated Beef, Carrots, Snap Peas, Onions, Mushrooms in Sweet Teriyaki Sauce with White Rice...

DSCF0429.jpg

...and a coke.

This is a pretty big portion. If I was starving, maybe not to share but since we knew there were other things we wanted to try and it was still early we decided to share and we were plenty help over until the next stop. It was really good too! Skye snagged a little of the white rice but would not even try the veggies (even though she loved pea pods and carrot because they have teriyaki sauce on them. There was nothing on the menu they wanted and I talked them out of just getting a standard kids meal here and into waiting for something better.

We really liked this and we would for sure come back to get another when OOP or if we ever did a CS dining plan (don't see it happening but I won't rule it out).

It was getting a little crazy in there by the time we left but I think it was really just two large families with a lot of little kids.

Our total here was $16.17 so it's kinda a lot for one plate of food and a pop but it was really good and less like fast food than a lot of other places that would have cost the same or more.

We ran into the Harabme Market and decided to check it out.

Skye didn't want anything here. So Tyler decided on the Kids Chicken Skewer...Glazed with BBQ Sauce. Includes two selections: apple wedges, carrot sticks, or fresh broccoli spears and choice of small lowfat milk or small water.

DSCF0439.jpg

...with apples, carrots, and a water. I don't know if the menu has changed or if we were able to just tell thrm to leave the BBQ sauce off (yep, won't eat it like that). Skye snagged the carrots and helped him with the apples. All the time he was eating he asked her if she wanted some and she continually told him no. Then on the last bite she said yes...well guess what? She loved it. Tyler said it was not all dried out like he thought it looked and he was afraid it would have some odd seasoning or something but it was a pretty basic, well cooked chicken.

Cary and I split a Kid's Karubi Ribs...Glazed with BBQ Sauce - Includes two selections: apple wedges, carrot sticks, or fresh broccoli spears and choice of small lowfat milk or small water...

DSCF0440.jpg

...with broccoli and apples and a water. Skye snagged our apples and a piece of broccoli. These were really good too. Being the good mommy I am I let Tyler have a piece and he loved it and was sorry he was such a picky person then. There was a ton of meat in this kid's meal. It was tender and not much fat. Overall, what we had here was all great. It was pretty empty when we ordered and by the time we had our food people were streaming in. Which was part of the reason we did not get more.

Cary also had a Sagfari Amber beer here. I don't have a pic and I don't remember what he said about it...sorry!

We were here at 11:08am so right after it opened which is probably why there was no one there when we ordered. It is acute little set up but I could see it being very crowded in there when it is a peak meal time because it is kind enclosed and that makes it feel like a small area.

This would be a great place to spend CS credits.

Our total here was $25.01.
