This is the new, definitive DVC 1,000 point club and replaces the other, older threads.

Please reply to this thread to add your name to the list or update your existing entry

None of us take this "club" too seriously - it's just for fun! Updated frequently. Recently added features: linked usernames, "last updated" tracker, listing of owned resorts. Goal is to include everyone who owns 1,000+ DVC points and is still (at least somewhat) around on the forums, so the starting point for this list was everyone who had posted on the other 1,000 point club threads since February 2023.

Hey there, fellow DVC aficionados of the 'Thousand Point Club'! As an aspiring member dreaming of joining your magical ranks, I made this chart to show us the most beloved resorts among the club. Enjoy!

It appears that both of the other 1000 point threads have gone stale (last updated in Feb 23 and Oct 23), so I'm creating this new definitive one. I've also added new features, like linking to user names, a "last updated" tracker, and listing out the resorts owned.

I vow to keep it updated at least weekly, if not more frequently! I'm in it for the long haul! As a starting point, I've included any posts made on the other two threads within the last year (since February 2023).

Ooooooh super interesting, thanks for sharing! I always wonder about those "favorite resorts" polls and how accurate they are. This chart is awesome b/c it's kind of like that but a bit more objective.

Just saw this, we’re not all VDH/VGC! That would have cost us a lot more… we have a decent amount of SSR resale points to make up our total. Full list is BWV, CCV, RIV, SSR, VDH, VGC, VGF.

We're new to DVC but will be joining the 1K pt club soon. We purchased 250pts direct at VDH last month and are now waiting for ROFR to clear on a 1,000 pt resale Aulani contract.

Thanks for taking on this project. Never thought I would make this list, but just kept adding more and more points over the last 4 years. Started when we had 1 toddler, 5 years ago, and planned to stay in studios. Now we have 3 young kids and are always bringing family with us and became addicted to grand villas.

What’s crazy is that when we joined one year ago, the idea of having 1000 points or more seemed insane and impossible….we now have 575 points, 425 more seems incredibly plausible and, frankly, very likely (might take it a little slower with the last few hundred though…probably )

Inspired See, we thought we were so smart and came in with more than enough points at 250 to start. Moral is we were not smart and we did not have enough points to start.

I think the thing is if you buy-in direct (and get last year’s points) or a fully loaded resale, you’re actually getting double points then your yearly allotment. We actually bought a fully loaded small resale with our initial direct purchase (that I’m now selling since it’s the only contract in a different UY) so double trouble really. Like how am I supposed to go from 600+ points the first year down to half the next?? Impossible.

They know what they’re doing when they give people those “free” points. Spoil us and sucker us in is what that is.

That was us - 15 years ago we bought 150 BCV resale points thinking every 1-2 years we’d spend a week in a 1br for F&W. Then VGF1 opened so now we could go every year and stay at either BCV or VGF. Then we “needed” more points because of the COVID borrowing rules so we bought BLT resale to add a week there to the rotation. Then (sadly) my FIL died and instead of my MIL getting a room on the hotel side we “needed” enough points to get 2BRs. And most recently we absolutely “needed” VGC points. Now we stay 2-3 times per year for 7-8 nights in 1BR or 2BR.

It’s a slippery slope to 1000 points.
