DVC discounts/benefits

I'm sure I already know the answer to this but thought I'd clarify...if our DS stays at DVC using our points will he be entitled to any DVC member discount/benefits? I'm gussing no but don't want him to miss out on anything he might be entitled to, especially as he and DGF will be very poor having just paid for their first holiday themselves!

To get the discount you show your resort id card, which states dvc member. It will say that on your son's card so there should be no problems. We have just taken our inlaws with us and theirs said DVC member.
