Yes. We were staying 7 nights at Riviera and upgraded from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom. It was for sure a surprise as we did not ask for it but there were circumstances that warranted it. We arrived at WDW at around 10:00 am after checking out of Portofino Bay at Universal. We knew we were early and had every intention of dropping our bags at bell services and heading to Epcot for our lunch ADR at Le Cellier. Well, we pulled up as we have done many times before and we were not parked in the way at all. There was at least 3 car widths beside us for thru traffic. I opened the lift gate from inside then stepped out as did my wife and kids. The man at the podium for valet yelled at me "You can't park here!" so I asked where can I park and he said in a parking lot. I tried to explain we were checking in and needed to unload all our luggage but he yelled "move!" so I pulled down a little next to the sidewalk and walked inside to check in. Of course our room wasn't ready and I didn't expect it to be. I asked if I could unload and park our luggage and they said of course you can. I asked if I could go get a cart and they said bell services was out front and would load it for me. I then explained what happened and a manager overheard it and walked me outside to help me. By then a nice young man that had seen what happened when we puled up was already unloading our luggage where we were parked. Long story I know but to sum it up, once we got back from Epcot, after we got our room ready text, we were really surprised that we got a 2 bedroom! Then it got worse lol. We called for our luggage and when it arrived the bell hop handed me our daughters iPad and 3 of our bags were missing. The iPad was inside our youngest daughters suitcase. We all went down to find out how this happened and just walked inside bag storage to find our missing bags on someone else's cart. It got really bad as I was pissed! Anyway, we somehow received 3 breakfast ADR's at Topolinos that were previously unavailable. And they were credited back at check out. Go figure lol.Have any of you ever received a room upgrade at WDW? Where were you staying? What were the circumstances? Did you ask for it or was it a surprise?
OOoh that nasty bell services crap happened to us at BWV as well. They were SO RUDE (frankly all the CM's there were). We pulled up to unload our luggage and the guys there yelled at us that we couldn't stop there. He made my DH (even though I explained he had a bad knee, requiring a knee replacement) go park the car in the parking lot and drag the bags in from there.Yes. A few weeks ago! The first one we have ever received in 20 years. We booked a standard room at Beach Club and were upgraded to Club Level. It was a total surprise. We didn't ask - we were just told we were there. I said to the CM that we didn't book a club level room and the CM just said that we must have been 'pixie dusted'. We were so excited and it was so unexpected.Have any of you ever received a room upgrade at WDW? Where were you staying? What were the circumstances? Did you ask for it or was it a surprise?
We were upgraded from MK view Poly in 2008 to Concierge MK view, with balcony 3rd floor.Have any of you ever received a room upgrade at WDW? Where were you staying? What were the circumstances? Did you ask for it or was it a surprise?
