Yes, that's right, it is time for another Dreamer Family trip report! This was our fifth trip to WDW and it was a very different trip than in the past. It was much longer, our touring style was very different, and we ventured off property for the first time to visit that "other park", Universal! We stayed at the Coronado Springs Resort from May 11th - May 25th.
If you have read my previous trip reports you will understand the title that I have chosen for this newest report. If not, here is the back story: Christmas 1997 - cloudy and rainy the whole trip; July 2007 - Sunny half the trip, downpours the other half; August 2008 - Tropical Storm Fay, she hovered over Orlando the whole week we were there; May 2009 - Rained the whole week we were at WDW and then the rain followed us out to sea as we enjoyed a Disney Cruise. Needless to say, we were a bit apprehensive in regards to the weather as we prepared for this latest vacation. Luckily it was HOT and SUNNY the whole 15 days we were there. In fact it was unseasonably hot and we were experiencing July temperatures in May or so all the news stations were reporting.
For those unfamiliar with my reports here is what you can expect: lots of photos, lots of detail, and lots of laughs. I try my best to write honestly about the trip, I try not to sugar coat things as I want the report to be entertaining but also educational at the same time as I know lots of people find reports very helpful in planning their own vacations. I will try and update twice a week so there will never be any long gaps between updates and I ALWAYS finish my reports so no fear that this will be left abandoned.
Some highlights/big events of the trip:
Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival
Pixar Weekend at Epcot
Star Wars Weekends
Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure - This includes the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Of course there is lots more that will be included but those were the "special events" that occurred on the trip.
Now to introduce my family and fellow travelers.
First there is me, Lessa. I am a full-time Nursing student going for my BScN, this is my second degree and it is a lot of work and very time consuming so this vacation was much needed! In addition to being a full-time student, I also work part-time as an emergency operator for the local university. I am the trip planner of the family and I "joke" that I am in charge of the family and all decision making while on vacation.
Next is Beth (emmaca on the Dis), our lovely mother. She works hard all year for a hospital foundation (fundraising) and she lives for her WDW vacations. I think she has become more of a Disney nut than me! Mom suffers from MS but she does not let that stop her fun!
Next, the famous Brothers Grimm, Alek (micky_hater) and Erich(Dead Bones Brook). They were given this nickname by Diser Englishrose because of their posts during my trip reports where they report what "really" happened on our vacations. They are practical jokers and love anything and everything that is ridiculous. They are sure to always provide a laugh, even if it is at the expense of their mother and sister.
While I am the primary writer of this trip report you can expect the others to pop in from time to time with their own updates and version of events.
For ease of reading I will be providing a table of contents in the second post on this thread and I also provide links at the end of each chapter. I love my readers so please post and say hello!
