FP+ and Fantasmic

Is it easy to get into Fantasmic without FP+ ?

Yes, but...

You should be able to easily get a FP+ for F! in the park that day.

What a FP+ for F! offers is more CHOICE in seating.

If you DO get a F! FP+, you can choose to sit in either the FP section (virtually the entire left half of the theater)

or the Standby section (virtually the entire right half of the theater.)

So, whatever section has the better seating at the time you arrive, you can go there.

Without a FP, you can only choose a seat in the Standby section.

There is a very good chance that you can get a FP+ for F! as a 4th or 5th FP of the day because they issue SO MANY of them (enough to cover nearly the entire left half of the seating.) On many nights, it is possible that you can gat a FP+ for F! as you are walking to the theater.

As to when to arrive at the theater, I'd get to there 45-60 minutes before the show-time.

Even with a FP or Dining Pkg. reservation, don't wait too late.

On busy nights, the CMs can stop holding the reserved sections within 20-30 minutes before show-time, and turn over any available seats to waiting walk-in guests.

There is sometimes a "pre-show" (such as it is) that can help pass the last 30 minutes before show time.

Cyan= Standby (walk-in) seating

Red= Dining Package Reserved

Blue= FP+ Reserved

Purple= Can be either FP+ or Dining Plan Reserved, depending on needs.

(Second or Third F! performance of the evening)

Cyan= Standby (walk-in) seating

Red, Purple, Blue= FP+ Reserved

(Although much of the outer Blue will likely be used for Standby.)

We will be there on a green day but during overall red crowd levels (week of Christmas). On our arrival day we will be getting to HS around 2 or 3 PM. Will we have any shot at getting a 4th FP+ for Fantasmic in the evening during this time of year?

You can try. Better chance of getting a F! FP than most others.

Another thread suggested going to Frozen Fireworks first, then F!, so as to get a better view of fireworks. If my math is right, that would result in leaving fireworks viewing roughly 45 minutes or so prior to F! I had planned on getting a FP for F! Perhaps it would at least allow us to skip the standby line and walk right in?

thoughts?

Don't think of F! in the regular relationship of Standby vs. FP.
The lines don't really work that way, especially for the SECOND performance.
Both lines will have lots of guests.
Both will be allowed into the theater only after the seating has been cleaned following
the first show.

As I spelled out above... if you can get a FP+ for F! without it taking away from any of your regular attraction FP+ for that day
(and it is very likely you can get one,) it will offer you a wider choice in seating, and that, alone, can
make a positive difference.

We watched the Frozen fireworks and had a FP for the second F! We had plenty of time to walk down Sunset (we watched the fireworks from in front of the Trolley Car Cafe because we didn't need to see the stage, the big screen was fine) and the cleaning was not done yet so everyone was being held. Once they opened the first FP scanners were closed, we headed in scanning only at the second. We chose our seating and were very happy. We definitely didn't need to have the FP to get in, there were plenty of seats available, but we are glad we did. We got it before the fireworks and weren't planning any other rides or anything so figured why not. It did not get us in any sooner since everyone was being held until the stadium was prepared for round 2.
