Guess what I just found out about AAA and free MYW Meal Plan

Well, I went to my AAA agents office today to officially pick up all our stuff for our trip next month. I asked her about the promotion that Disney has where the MYW meal plan is free August -October. I said you can't get a AAA discount on the rooms with the free meal plan right? She said oh yes you can. Here is the fax we just got about this promotion. It said that you can get the discount off the rooms and the free myw meal plan for a 5 night 6 day stay. I was like DARN I could of saved about 1,000 bucks if we would of went then. :sad2: Oh well hubby couldn't get off then. So just wanted everyone to know whoever is going then can save a bundle.
HTH

was this a recent addition to the AAA package? a AAA TA/disney specialist told me that the two discounts were in no way combinable... the savings w/the free dining alone is awesome, if the room was discounted too, well, that would just be over the top! i've already said that if i rec'd any more discounts, disney would soon be paying *me* to come visit! LOL!

She showed me the fax that she received today. I didn't read it but saw where it said AAA MYW Disney promotion. I asked her about getting the room at a discount to and she said Yeah that is my understanding when I read this fax and I have been booking them like that. She just got the Fax the other day.

Is there a code or something that is connected to this new Fax about getting discounted room rate with the Meal package?Has anyone been able to do this?

Are you serious? I could save another $150 for my stay. I don't have a AAA membership now but I recently got an offer in the mail I could take advantage of for this trip.

I also want to know if anybody else has been able to do this.

I'd like to know this too. I know I didn't get a room discount rate with mine. Anyone know? princess:

3 days ago I was quoted the same rate with AAA then CRO. I booked with CRO so I am curious about this as well. I will change if I can.

AAA offices have a different code but the rate is the same
Only the description changes from the regular dining plan offer to where it says AAA dining plan offer.

It is Disney's way of keeping track of their marketing. Every place that they list this offer has a different code but it is the same. If you call Disney it is one code, if you look on their website it lists a different code, etc. It lets their marketing department know which advertisement gets the most results

No i didn't see a code on this fax. She just showed me it I didn't read it completley. I didn't ask to read it because I don't work there and I don't konw if its against policy. I did read the big writing and what I stated about is what it said. I am just going by what my AAA said. I don't think she would be lying but who knows.

I don't think she was lying, I just think she didn't know.

My AAA agent called me all excited with my new price - the same price I got via CRO. The AAA agents don't realize that the room gets changed back to rack rate by adding the code for free dining, but it does. I'm not even sure my agent knows the price breakdown between room/tickets/meal plan, but I do since I've checked it against CRO's prices.

I got the AAA discount with the free dining plan when I booked on Sunday. It saved my another $208.

Yeah, I've seen you post that elsewhere. For some reason, you are the only person I can find that got it. Any idea how, why, or where? I'd love to stack the AAA room discount with the free dining but both AAA and Disney are telling me it is not possible. Did you ever get a full breakdown of your expenses?

I'd be curious to see the breakdown too. It seems strange that no one else can get the AAA discount and it seems that everyone is quoting the same rate as what's showing on Disney even though they are being told it's the AAA rate. What gives???

I personally think they should give both discounts especially how much disney charges us. This is my first trip there and it is so expensive but I am a cheap person, LOL. The only discount I got was the 15 percent off room. I guess its better then nothing. I would of liked to get the meal plan free. Oh well we are going in July and they didn't offer any codes for that time. :sad2: We will still have fun it will just take us some time to pay off the bill. I heard they are doing this promotion during hurricane season to get people down there, well there seems to be a tropical storm heading for florida right now. Oh I hope this isn't a bad year for the weather.

I do not have a full breakdown of expenses. I did get my confirmation from AAA with the correct prices. I was scared that it was going to be higher than what I was quoted.
Here goes:
8 nights-8/23-31
Pop Century
2 adults/2 kids(7&9)
7day base tickets to the parks for all 4 of us
magical express
free dining
$1454.02 I was quoted $208 more with disney.com

Christine,

I know I asked you this before, but never got an answer. I know you used AAA out of NY but could you tell me your agents name?? I definately am not getting a AAA rate. Mine is exact almost to the penny of Disney's rates.

Yep, it looks like you are paying $92/night when rack rate is $110/night which is a little more than 15% off.

Care to share your AAA agent's name and number? Mine can't get the AAA room rate + free dining for me no matter what she does.

I went to the site for AAA Carolinas and requested a quote for MYW with free dining and the AAA discounts - I'll post anything I hear from them. This might lead me to take my annual December trip in October! :wizard:

That explains it then, it is your dates, you really didn't get the AAA Discount on the room portion.

When a friend of mine booked her trip she went on disneyworld.com to get an idea of the price. She is going August 21-28 staying at a moderate resort, which is supposed to be regular season for that time. The price she got from her TA (not a AAA one) was less then what she thought it would be.

Her TA told her that with this package it seems that they are giving you value season rates for the whole time it is available to book even though Aug 21-27 is normally regular season for the value and moderate resorts. That is where your difference comes in. If you priced a normal package (before it was bookable online) you were looking at regular season rates
